The ...TiB2/Al-30Si composites were fabricated via in-situ melt reaction under high-energy ultrasonic field. The microstructure and wear properties of the composite were investigated by XRD, SEM and dry sliding testing. The results indicate that TiB2 reinforcement particles are uniformly distributed in the aluminum matrix under high-energy ultrasonic field. The morphology of the TiB2 particles is in circle-shape or quadrangle-shape, and the size of the particles is 0.1-1.5μm. The primary silicon particles are in quadrangle-shape and the average size of them is about 10μm. Hardness values of the Al-30Si matrix alloy and the TiB2/Al-30Si composites considerably increase as the high energy ultrasonic power increases. In particular, the maximum hardness value of the in-situ composites is about 1.3 times as high as that of the matrix alloy when the ultrasonic power is 1.2 kW, reaching 412 MPa. Meanwhile, the wear resistance of the in-situ TiB2/Al-30Si composites prepared under high-energy ultrasonic field is obviously improved and is insensitive to the applied loads of the dry sliding testing.展开更多

In this report we determined how the receptor complex is preassembled and how the ...We previously demonstrated using noninvasive technologies that the interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) receptor complex is preassembled [ 1 ]. In this report we determined how the receptor complex is preassembled and how the ligand-mediated conformational changes occur. The interaction of Statl with IFN-γR1 results in a conformational change localized to IFN- γR1. Jakl but not Jak2 is required for the two chains of the IFN-γ receptor complex (IFN-γR1 and IFN-γR2) to interact; however, the presence of both Jakl and Jak2 is required to see any ligand-dependant conformational change. Two IFN- γR2 chains interact through species-specific determinants in their extracellular domains. Finally, these determinants also participate in the interaction of IFN-γR2 with IFN-γR1. These results agree with a detailed model of the IFN-γ receptor that requires the receptor chains to be pre-associated constitutively for the receptor to be active.展开更多
Al2O3 ceramic powder was applied to modify the large pores defects on the surface of the porous metal Ti support,in situ oxidation method was a convenient method to prepare defect free ceramic/Ti composite membranes o...Al2O3 ceramic powder was applied to modify the large pores defects on the surface of the porous metal Ti support,in situ oxidation method was a convenient method to prepare defect free ceramic/Ti composite membranes on this basis.In situ oxidation conditions experimental results show that the best condition for preparing the TiO2-Al2O3/Ti composite membrane is under 800°C for 2 h,and the microstructure and pore sizes of the TiO2-Al2O3/Ti composite membranes are affected obviously.The thickness and composition of the TiO2/Ti composite membranes are determined by SEM and XRD completely.The pore size distribution of the composite membrane is measured by bubble pressure method,the most probable aperture is about 3.12μm,while the average pore size of defect free TiO2-Al2O3/Ti is about 3.23μm.After ultrasonic treatment,the slight weight change of membranes reveals no observable change,which indicates that TiO2-Al2O3/Ti composite membranes maintain a good stability.展开更多

The threshold control of safety blasting vibration velocity is a significant process for the underground mining of complicated ore deposit under construction,road,and water.According to the equivalent principle of dis...The threshold control of safety blasting vibration velocity is a significant process for the underground mining of complicated ore deposit under construction,road,and water.According to the equivalent principle of displacement and velocity of mass point,differential evolution is put forward based on 3DEC dynamic analysis,making the calculation more efficient and accurate.The 3DEC model of the complicated orebody under railway is established according to the topographic maps and geological data of the eastern Pyrite Mine.The stimulus-response distribution of internal stress and displacement fields are demonstrated by analyzing the on-site monitoring vibration displacement and velocity data of the mass point.The reliability of parameter selection,such as blasting simulation waveforms,rock damping,is identified.The safety vibration velocity of railway is set to 4.5 cm/s in line with the requirement of safety blasting rules.Thus,the maximum amount of single-stage explosive in this region is 44.978 kg.The simulation result is in good agreement with the on-site monitoring datum.No displacement and settlement of the 701 railway special line was achieved by choosing the critical amount of the single-stage explosive.展开更多
A new position group contribution model is proposed for the estimation of normal boiling data of organic compounds involving a carbon chain from C2 to C18.The characteristic of this method is the use of position distr...A new position group contribution model is proposed for the estimation of normal boiling data of organic compounds involving a carbon chain from C2 to C18.The characteristic of this method is the use of position distribution function.It could distinguish most of isomers that include cis-or trans-structure from organic compounds.Contributions for hydrocarbons and hydrocarbon derivatives containing oxygen,nitrogen,chlorine,bromine and sulfur,are given.Compared with the predictions,results made use of the most common existing group contribution methods,the overall average absolute difference of boiling point predictions of 417 organic compounds is 4.2 K;and the average absolute percent derivation is 1.0%,which is compared with 12.3 K and 3.2% with the method of Joback,12.1 K and 3.1% with the method of Constantinou-Gani.This new position contribution groups method is not only much more accurate but also has the advantages of simplicity and stability.展开更多

Core-sheU structured NaGdF4:Yb/Er@NaGdF4:Yb@mSiO2-polyethylene glycol (abbreviated as UCNPS) nanopartides loaded with the antiturnor drug, doxorubicin (DOX) were incorporated into poly(^-caprolactone) (PCL) and gelatin loaded with antiphlogistic drug, indomethacin (MC) to form nanofibrous fabrics (labeled as MC/UCNPS/DOX) via electrospinning process. The resultant multifunctional spinning pieces can be surgically implanted directly at the tumor site of mice as an orthotopic chemotherapy by controlled-release DOX from mesoporous silicon dioxide (SiO2) and upconversion fluorescence/magnetic resonance dual-model imaging through NaGdF4:Yb/Er@NaGdF4:Yb embedded in MCfldCNPS/DOX invivo.展开更多
Objective:Ectopic tissue transplantation is not a new idea.Godina and his colleagues pioneered this method in the 1980s.This method is a last resort method of preserving an amputated body part,which consists of banki...Objective:Ectopic tissue transplantation is not a new idea.Godina and his colleagues pioneered this method in the 1980s.This method is a last resort method of preserving an amputated body part,which consists of banking the amputated segment in an ectopic area and returning it to its native place at a later date.In this article we present our experience with this demanding procedure.Methods:Debridement was the mainstay of this procedure.The stump and amputated part are carefully debrided and the stump was either closed primarily or covered by a flap.The amputated part was transplanted to one of several banking sites in the body and at a later date it will be transferred to its native site in an elective setting.Results:Seven patients meeting the set criteria for ectopic transplantation were enrolled in this study.The overall success rate was about 70%,lower than expected but these are cases of severe crush injury.Although the functional recovery of these patients are very low,all of the successful cases except one could find a job as a janitor or light manual worker.No patient could return to his previous job.Conclusion:Ectopic transplantation of body parts is an accepted method of treatment of severely crushed extremity or finger injuries.In our country an amputee has very little chance of finding a job instead a disabled person can.In addition in Iran cultures amputation is seen as punishment of either the God or the society,so it is not well accepted and many patients persist on saving the limb even with no functional recovery.None of our successful cases could return to his previous occupation but almost all of them could find a job as janitors or light manual workers.展开更多
A PANI/WO3@cotton thread-based flexible sensor that is capable of detecting NH3 at room temperature is developed here.A layer of WO3 with PANI nanoparticles can be deposited by in-situ polymerization.The morphology an...A PANI/WO3@cotton thread-based flexible sensor that is capable of detecting NH3 at room temperature is developed here.A layer of WO3 with PANI nanoparticles can be deposited by in-situ polymerization.The morphology and structure of the specimens were investigated by utilizing TEM,SEM,XRD and FTIR.The sensing performance of the PANI/WO3@cotton sensors with different WO3 molar ratios to NH3 at room temperature was examined.The results show that the optimal sensor(10 mol%WO3)has a response of 6.0 to 100 ppm NH3,which is significantly higher than that of the sensors based on pristine PANI and other composites.The PANI/WO3@cotton sensor also displays excellent selectivity,gas response,and flexibility even at room temperature.The unique fiber structure,p-n heterojunction,and the increased protonation of PANI in the composites contribute to the enhanced sensing property.展开更多
Directional solidification of rod-like eutectic is an important route to produce in situ composites.The rod-like phase spacing of composites is a crucial parameter in determining the properties of the materials.In thi...Directional solidification of rod-like eutectic is an important route to produce in situ composites.The rod-like phase spacing of composites is a crucial parameter in determining the properties of the materials.In this study,the rod-like phase spacing of melt-grown in situ eutectic composites is estimated by the method that is established based on the classical Jackson-Hunt theory and completed by considering the minimum undercooling principle in eutectic solidification at steady state.The density difference between the solid phases is also considered when calculating the diffusion field in the liquid.It is found that the rod-like phase spacing of in situ eutectic composites is generally a not unique value but displays a finite range under fixed growth conditions.Also,the range width,which decreases with increasing growth rate and vice versa,is only dependent on the intrinsic properties of an alloy at a given growth rate.By comparing with the experimental observations,the results show that the predicted spacings are in reasonable agreement with experimental data for nonfaceted-nonfaceted Succinonitrile-(D)camphor,MnSb-Sb,and Al-Al3Ni alloys and faceted-nonfaceted MnBi-Bi system when growing in a coupled manner.展开更多
