The flowfield is described by multi-species NavierStocks equations. The chemical model includes 11 species (O2, N2, O, N, NO, NO^+ , N^+ , O^+, N2^+ , O2^+, e^- ) and 20 reactions. For simulating the thermal non-equilibrium effect, the two-temperature model is considered. The finite volume method (FVM) used for the spatial and directional discretization of radiative transfer equation(RTE) is described for unstructured grids. The numerical code can handle different kinds of species and radiative bands in a gas thermodynamicly described by two temperatures. In particular, the Delta, Epsilon, Beta prime, and Gamma prime bands of NO are choosen and the distribution of the radiation intensity is obtained.展开更多

The findings of the computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulations were compared with the published experimental data and fairly good agreement was observed between the two, thus validating the condensation model. The results of CFD simulations for dimensionless penetration length of steam plume varies from 2.73-7.33,while the condensation heat transfer coefficient varies from 0.75-0.917 MW·(m ^2 ·K)^ -1 for water temperature in the range of 293-343 K.展开更多

Tour program also predicts the concentration of oxygen in the fuel chamber as well as the concentration of equilibrium species such as H2, CO, CO2 and CH4. Compared with using hydrogen as a fuel, the e.m.f. for cells using BPG as the fuels is relative low and strongly influenced by carbon deposition. To remove carbon deposition, the optimum amount of H2O to add is determined at various operating temperatures. Further the e.m.f, for cells based on yttria stabilized zirconia and doped ceria as electrolytes are compared. The study reveals that when using BPG as fuel, the depression of e.m.f, for a SOFC using doped ceria as electrolyte is relatively small when compared with that using Yttria stabilized zirconia.展开更多

Based on the fundamental thermodynamic principle, the relationships of mole numbers, molar fractions, thermodynamic properties, partial molar properties, potential and fugacity between the hypothetical solution of elemental species and the equilibrated solution of actual species were derived. The hypothetical elemental solution provides a way of reducing the dimensionality of problem, simplifying the analysis and visualizing the phase behavior.展开更多

The results are compared to that without including thermal emission current while the system parameters are same. It is found that the thermal emission current has played a significant role on modifying the dust charging and balance levitations. Both of the charging numbers of dust and the dust radius in balance are dramatically reduced. The stability of dust levitation is also analyzed and discussed.展开更多
