By affecting the student's motivation profile, knowledge of these expectations will have an impact on his progress. The study focuses on two ninth grade classes, where both are presented with a contest, a test and a questionnaire at the beginning and at the end of the cycle. We determine their actual and theoretical performances as well as their initial and final levels of self-determination. Only one class has been given knowledge of their theoretical performance. Then, two variables are analyzed: the "learning" variable linked to the duration of the cycle, and the "pedagogic modality" variable, whether the student is aware of his theoretical performance or not. The ANOVA (analysis of variance) tests performed have showed no significant impact of these variables on the performance, but their interaction is an important factor over the perceived progress. This significance is also observable on our subjects self-determination levels, intrinsic motivation and their overall skills. By fostering the teacher's perception, knowledge of the theoretical performance does not affect directly the student's performance but heightens his intrinsic motivation and favors the progress in his skills.展开更多

Thirty six male (age 33 ± 9) and twenty nine female (age 31 ±8) elite athletes, members of the German national team, were examined in their final training camp preparing for world championship. At two time points blood panels (pre-training and one hour post-training) were collected and concentrations of high sensitive troponin T, N-terminal pro brain natriuretic peptide (NT-pro BNP), ereatine phosphokinase (CPK), MB-creatine kinase (CKMB) and myoglobin were assessed. After exercise, serum levels ofNT-pro BNP, CPK, myoglobin and CKMB increased significantly (P 〈 0.01 for each) with only few values exceeding the upper reference limits. High sensitive troponin T remained below the limit of detection both before and after exercise in all athletes. Significant gender-related differences were found with a higher increase ofNT-pro BNP levels in female athletes (P 〈 0.01) compared to males. In contrast, male athletes displayed a significant higher increase of CPK (P 〈 0.01) and myoglobin (P 〈 0.01) compared to female athletes. In conclusion, three high-intensity training units did not lead to elevated high sensitive troponin T concentrations in elite athletes of dragon boating but to significant increases ofNT-pro BNP, CPK and myoglobin levels. This suggests that high-intensity training units do not lead to a cardiac injury in these athletes.展开更多

The AMIC group consisted 16 patients with a mean age of 34. Mean follow up is 38 months. Sixteen age and sex controlled patients who underwent an arthroscopic microfractufing of a similar size cartilage lesion were used as a comparative study group with a mean follow up of 41 months. No complications and no adverse reactions were seen, and all patients would have the same surgery again. We report 2 failures in the AMIC group with conversion to THR (Total Hip Replacement) at 8 and 36 months, respectively. In the microfracturing group, there were 3 conversions to THR after 12, 14 and 24 months. The HHS (Harris Hip Score) was 96.5 in the AMIC group and 93.5 in the microfracturing group. Patients had significantly less symptomatic synovitis postoperatively in the AMIC group and more athletes could resume their activities to the pre-injury level in this group. In conclusion, AMIC offers promising results in the treatment of cartilage lesions in patients with cam-type FAI.展开更多

There were four objectives in this study. In this context, RFI (Recreational Features Inventory) database is used to collect data classification when and where certain observations were made to collect respective primary data. The data was collected for the study via RFI data collecting which consisted of most suitable questions and variables. In this study, the data sample method was the purposive sample method and the research limited to four railways stations. The data analyzed form GIS (Geographical Information System), Google map and matrix. There were 14 tunnels between Ohiya to Idalgashinna. There is a large number of tunnels between two stations in the world and there are 18 tunnels in the whole research area. The researcher could identify the growth &recreational features from Ambewela to Idalgashinna. In addition, the researcher identified natural resources for the tourism industry and 70% sensitive and 30% none-sensitive recreational features from Ambewela to Idalgashinna research area. The GIS map indicated the growth patterns of particular recreational features in this area.展开更多

The "Self-compassion Scale" was used as the data collection tool in the study. In the present study, when the self-compassion levels of the students of the faculties of sports sciences were evaluated by various variables, it was found that the self-compassion levels of the students of Mugla University were significantly higher than those of the students of Ankara University, that the self-compassion levels of the students studying in the department of teaching were higher than those of the students studying in the department of coaching, and that the self-compassion levels of the students performing the branch of football were significantly higher than those of the students performing the branch of volleyball. When the students were compared based on the cities they live, it was found that the students living in the province of Mugla had significantly higher levels of self-compassion comparing to the students living in the province Ankara. Consequently, it was determined that the self-compassion levels of the students studying in various departments of the faculties of sports sciences were moderate, and that the differences in the province, department and the sports branch had an effect on the levels of self-compassion.展开更多

Integration and inclusion are strategies to open the world of sports for people with disabilities or a migrant background as well. Families, politics, the management within companies and all citizens are in responsibility. The development of Sport for All depends on various dimensions, e.g. the different kinds of sport, target groups and aims/motives.展开更多

Despite the psychological training is relevant to, and associated with physical exercise, but its nature determines its specificity. On the psychological point of view, due to the reinforcement of external stimuli, which led to strong psychological pressure, these are manifested through the behaviors of the players when they are compete with others, such as fear, excessive psychological tension, incorrect competition motivation, ambiguous purpose, lack of confidence, even there are phenomenon like isolated characteristics and irritation, etc. Thus, the regulation and control of mental activity, the overcome of the psychological barriers, and the implementation of the psychology training have become a big question which teachers and coaches must pay attention to and need to be solved.展开更多
