The mechanical properties of cemented paste backfill(CPB) depend heavily on its pore structural characteristics and micro-structural changes. In order to explore the variation mechanisms of macro-mechanical characteristics and micro-structure of CPB. CPB specimens with different mass concentrations prepared from the full tailings of Xianglushan Tungsten Ore were micro-tests. Moreover, acquired pore digital images were processed by using the pores(particles) and cracks analysis system(PCAS), and a sensitivity analysis was performed. The results show that as the mass concentration of CPB increases from 70% to 78%, the porosity, the average pore area and the number of pores drop overall, leading to a decline in the pores opening degree and enhancing the mechanical characteristics. As the mass concentration of CPB increases, the trend of fractal dimension, probability entropy and roundness is reduced, constant and increased, which can result in an enhancement of the uniformity, an unchanged directionality and more round pores. According to the definition of sensitivity, the sensitivities of various micro-parameters were calculated and can be ranked as porosity > average pore area > number of pores > roundness > fractal dimension > probability entropy. 展开更多

A passive simulation method based on the six degrees of freedom(6-DOF)model and dynamic mesh is proposed according to the working principle to study the dynamic characteristics of the turbine flow sensors.This simulation method controls the six degrees of freedom of the impeller using the user-defined functions(UDF)program so that it can only rotate under the impact of fluid.The impeller speed can be calculated in real-time,and the inlet speed can be set with time to obtain the dynamic performance of the turbine flow sensors.Based on this simulation method,three turbine flow sensors with different diameters were simulated,and the reliability of the simulation method was verified by both steady-state and unsteady-state experiments.The results show that the trend of meter factor with flow rate acquired from the simulation is close to the experimental results.The deviation between the simulation and experiment results is low,with a maximum deviation of 2.88%.In the unsteady simulation study,the impeller speed changed with the inlet velocity of the turbine flow sensor,showing good tracking performance.The passive simulation method can be used to predict the dynamic performance of the turbine flow sensor. 展开更多

Optimal design for split-and-recombine-type flow distributors of microreactors based on blockage detection 被引量:2

In order to increase the productivity of microreactors, the parallelization of the microreactors is required. The performances of flow distributors can affect the product yield and fault detection ability when blockage happens.In this research, an optimal design method to calculate the channel diameters and to determine the flow sensor location is derived based on mass balance and pressure balance models of split-and-recombine-type flow distributors(SRFDs). The model accuracy is verified by experiment data. The proposed method is applied to optimal design of SRFDs under constant flow rate operation conditions. The maximum angle difference between normal and blockage conditions at one sensor to those at the other sensors is set to be the objective function and the uniformity of flow distribution in microreactors under normal condition is also required. The diameters of each pipe in SRFDs are selected as the design variables. Simulated annealing algorithm is used to solve the optimization problem. The effectiveness of the optimal design results is demonstrated by fluid dynamics simulations. The results show that using the optimal channel diameters of SRFDs, the pressure drop in SRFD section is lower than that of the microreactor section. Meanwhile, in the case studies, only a few sensors that are located inside the SRFDs can easily detect the blockage abnormal condition in the parallelized microreactor system. 展开更多

Pudgalastikaya is one of the six constituent dravyas of loka in Jainism and is the only substance that is sense perceptible. The sense attributes ofpudgala are colour, taste, smell, and touch properties which become the basis of its diversity of forms and structures. The smallest constituent of pudgala is paramanu; the other forms are its combinations. The combination ofparmanus forms various states of the matter. The paper describes different types of combinations and modes, rules for combinations and properties of aggregates known as vargana. Some varganas associate with the soul and form various types of bodies of organisms and others exist as forms of matter in loka (universe). The paramanu defines the smallest units of energy, space, time, and sense quality ofpudgala. Pudgala exists in visible and invisible forms but anything that is visible is definitely pudgala. Pudgala is classified in various ways; one of them is on the basis of touch property and there are pudgalas having two touches, four touches, and eight touches, each class having some specific character that differentiates them in respect of stability and motion. Pudgala is also classified as living, prayoga-parinat, and non-living, visrasa-parinat. The living matter existing as bodies of organisms exhibits some properties that are not found in non-living matter. Modem science has no such distinction which has become a cause of confusion in recognizing the existence of soul. The description of body remains incomplete without considering the presence of soul in the body. In modem terms, aparamanu is a vibrating and moving charge that is bosonic in character. The two-touch and four-touch pudgala do not appear to follow the speed limits prescribed by Special Theory of Relativity. Jain canonical works describe two types of motions sparshad type and asparshad type and these determine the motions of different class ofpudgala and soul. Jain philosophy describes the dynamics and motion ofparmanu in detail. The paper describes the Jain concepts of matter in detail and compares with the modem concepts to highlight the strength of Jain views. Modem science has explored the properties and behavior of matter in great detail but still there are many concepts that Jain philosophy has to offer. 展开更多

In its production, diseases like powdery mildew, fusarium head blight and rusts caused by fungal pathogens represent a major problem. They produce different symptoms that cause severe crop damage by infecting the spikes, leaves, roots, stems and grains. They are causing losses both by reducing the quantity of the harvested crop and the quality of the product. Quality problems of the harvested product can be due to shrivelled seed, which are frequently found as a consequence of the infection by leaf pathogens, such as mildews, rusts and Septoria. Fusarium head blight is the major culprit for mycotoxin contamination from the harvested grain, causing economic losses and in the worst casing human and animal health problems. In severe epidemics, all these fungal diseases can significantly reduce yield. Resistance to fungi is beneficial not only from a commercial point of view (yield), but also because of the reduced levels of mycotoxins. The integration of transgenic approaches offers a potential chemical-free and environment-friendly solution for controlling fungal pathogens. Landslide Susceptibility Mapping by Using Landslide RatioBased Logistic Regression:A Case Study in the Southern Taiwan

The object of the research is to compare the model performance and explain the error source of original logistic regression landslide susceptibility model(abbreviated as or-LRLSM) and landslide ratio-based logistic regression landslide susceptibility model(abbreviated as lr-LRLSM) in the Chishan watershed with a serious landslide disaster after 2009 Typhoon Morakot. The landslide inventory induced by 2009 Typhoon Morakot in South Taiwan is the main research material, while the Chishan watershed is the research area. Six variables, including elevation, slope, aspect, geological formation, accumulated rainfall, and bank erosion, were included in the two models. The performance of lr-LRLSM is better than that of or-LRLSM. The Cox & Snell R2, Nagelkerke R2 value, and the area under the relative operating characteristic curve(abbreviated as AUC) of lrLRLSM is larger than those of or-LRLSM, and the average correct ratio for the lr-LRLSM to predict landslide or non-landslide is larger than that of orLRLSM by 5.0%. The increase of the average correct ratio(abbreviated as ACR) difference from or-LRLSM to lr-LRLSM shows in slope, revised accumulated rainfall, aspect, geological formation and bank erosion variables, and only light decreases in elevation variable. The error sources of continuous variables in building the or-LRLSM is the dissimilarity between the distribution of landslide ratio and production of coefficient and characteristic values, while those of categorical variables is due to low correlation of landslide ratio and the coefficient value of each parameter. Using the classification of landslide ratio as the database to build logistic regression landslide susceptibility model(abbreviated as LRLSM) can revise the errors. The comparison of or-LRLSM and lr-LRLSM in the Chishan watershed also shows that building the landslide susceptibility model(abbreviated as LSM) by using lr-LRLSM is practical and of better performance than that by using the or-LRLSM. 展开更多

Elements of magnesium and aluminum are commonly found in aluminum powder or magnesium-aluminum alloy powder in pyrotechnic compositions in fireworks and firecrackers. Statistical analysis shows that the magnesium content in pyrotechnics is between 8% to 30% and the aluminum content is between 8% to 35%(roughly).Concept of this method: suppose the weight of the sample is 400rag,constant volume is IL and the concentlation of magnesium and aluminum is between 12mg/L to 160mg/L in sample solution, the determination scope of the method for magnesium and aluminum content would be between 3% to 40%.Further experiments proved that the fitting correlation coefficient of the magnesium calibration curve is 0.9999 or higher, recovery is 101.01% -101.96%.The fitting correlation coefficient of the aluminum calibration curve is 0.9999 or higher, recovery is 99.36%-103.07%. The allowable differential value is 0.4% between two single tests under repeatable conditions. This method can completely satisfy the requirements of the fireworks and firecrackers industry with high accuracy and good precision. 展开更多

Present investigation was carried out to study the factors which affect milk production of dairy cattle in Labuduwa, Rathgama and Yakkalamulla veterinary ranges in Galle district, Sri Lanka. Breed type of cattle, insemination method, sex of the calves, milk production of mother cows, rearing methods and ectoparasitic tick infestations were studied. The studied cattle were belonged to cross breeds of Jersey, Friesian, Sahiwal and AFS (Australian friesian sahiwal)and Jersey was the most common breed. Sahiwal and AFS breeds tend to produce more male calves under artificial insemination. The milk production of mother cows reared under semi intensive management system was high (p 〈 0.05). In addition, results revealed that the milk production of artificially inseminated mother cows was higher than that of the naturally bred mother cows (p 〉 0.05). Boophillus decolaratus was the only tick species present on studied calves with low percentage abundance (14.54%) of male ticks compared to that of female ticks (85.45%). Tick abundance was high in calves reared under free range management system. The tick abundance was high in Labuduwa range than Rathgama range (p 〉 0.05). According to the findings of the present study, the effect of the cattle management system has considerable impacts on milk production and tick infestations of dairy cattle in studied veterinary ranges in Galle district. 展开更多

Concept of this method: considering the weight of the sample is 400rag,constant volume is 1L and the concentration of potassium is between 10 mg/L to 90 mg/L in sample solution, the determination scope of the method for the potassium content would be between 1% to 23%.Further experiments proved that the fitting correlation coefficient of potassium calibration curve is 0.9997 or higher, recovery is 89.15%-100.23%.The allowable differential value is 0.4% between two single tests under repeatable conditions. To accurately determine the expression and distribution patterns of two infuenza virus receptors (SAa2,3-gal and SAa2,6-gal) in trachea and lung tissues of humans, mice, chickens and ducks, we analyzed lectin immunofluorescence stainings of various tissue sections qualitatively and quantitatively. Results from the qualitative analysis showed that both influenza virus receptors were expressed in lung tissues of humans, mice, chickens and ducks as well as trachea tissues of mice and ducks. However, SAa2,6-gal receptor was expressed only in the human trachea tissue and SAa2,3-gal receptor was expressed only in the chicken trachea tissue. Results from the quantitative analysis demonstrated that both receptors were expressed in trachea tis- sues of human and mouse, as well as in lung tissues of humans, chickens and ducks. Meanwhile, our results also showed that the expression and distribution of influenza virus receptors in the same tissue were not always uniform, indicating that their distribution and expression in various tissues are not simply the distinction between the presence or absence of receptors, but rather the difference in the amount of expressed receptors. 展开更多
