This may decrease the overall s...A common design practice for dynamic loading assumes the frame fixed at their bases. In reality, the supporting soil medium allows movement to some extent due to its property to deform. This may decrease the overall stiffness of the structural system and may increase the natural period of the system. The effect of soil flexibility is suggested to be accounted through consideration of springs which have specified stiffness and soil half space. Results show that the dynamic response of frame structure to vibrations is due to applied dynamic load and is highly dependent on the soil type and the method of modeling soil structure interaction. The response of frame structure under dynamic load is higher in case of linear discrete independent spring as comparing with perfect bond cases. Except the response of frame in case of piles embedded in soft clay, half space are higher than frame with piles and linear elastic spring due to the interaction between the frequencies of applied load and frequencies of frame structure. Also, result showed that it is important to include the soil-structure interaction in the analysis of the system in order to correctly simulate the dynamic problem for controlling on the resonance phenomena.展开更多
Dimension-controllable supramolecular organic frameworks(SOFs)with aggregation-enhanced fluorescence are hierarchically fabricated through the host-guest interactions of cucurbit[8]uril(CB[8])and coumarin-modified tet...Dimension-controllable supramolecular organic frameworks(SOFs)with aggregation-enhanced fluorescence are hierarchically fabricated through the host-guest interactions of cucurbit[8]uril(CB[8])and coumarin-modified tetraphenylethylene derivatives(TPEC).The three-dimensional layered SOFs could be constructed from the further stacking of two-dimensional mono-layered structures via simply regulating the self-assembly conditions including the culturing time and concentration.Upon light irradiation under the wavelength of 365 nm,the photodimerization of coumarin moieties occurred,which resulted in the transformation of the resultant TPECn/CB[8]4n two-dimensional SOFs into robust covalently-connected 2D polymers with molecular thickness.Interestingly,the supramolecular system of TPEC/CB[8]exhibited intriguing multicolor fluorescence emission from yellow to blue in the time range of 0-24 h at 365 nm irradiation,possessing potential applicability for photochromic fluorescence ink.展开更多

The elite was studied as a complex self-reference system oriented at its own environment, not only in an adaptive way, but first and foremost in structure. The systems approach specifies the following conceptual framework of the study: self-reference, system boundaries, and interaction between the political elite and the surrounding world. Application of the systems analysis to studying the political elite enabled to analyze the structure and functions of the elite, create a model of elitogenesis, and receive study matrix.展开更多
The consequence of the wave-particle duality is a pointer to the fact that everything in the universe, including light and gravity, can be described in terms of particles. These particles have a property called spin. ...The consequence of the wave-particle duality is a pointer to the fact that everything in the universe, including light and gravity, can be described in terms of particles. These particles have a property called spin. What the spin of a particle really tells us is what the particle looks like from different directions, in other words it is nothing more than a geometrical property. The motivation for this work stems from the fact that geometry has always played a fundamental role in physics, macroscopic and microscopic, relativistic and non-relativistic. Our belief is that if a GUT (Grand Unified Theory) is to be established at all, then geometry must be the common thread connecting all the different aspects of the already known theories. We propose a new way to visualize the concept of four-dimensional space-time in simple geometrical terms. It is observed that our time frame becomes curved, just as the space-frame, in the presence of a massive gravitating body. Specifically, in the event horizon of a black hole, where time seems to grind to a halt for external observers, the time frame appears to curve in on itself, forming an imaginary loop. This results in extreme time dilation, due to the strong gravitational field. Finally we adopt a descriptive view of a GUT called Quantum Necklace GUT which attempts to connect gravity together the other three fundamental forces of nature, namely the strong, weak and electromagnetic interactions.展开更多
