Despite this, in many English classrooms around the world, students have very few opportunities to interact in the second language. In this paper, using the literature on second language acquisition research and methodology to prepare a case which highlights why teachers and course designers should find ways to incorporate second language interaction and student participation in their language classes despite the practical difficulties they may face.展开更多

In recent years, the country' s institutions of higher learning at different levels almost opened vocational school vocational classes, including a certain scale of running private schools, but also they have established nationally recognized vocational education classes to satisfy the high school grade point average of students for further studies to improve the quality of the people, for the country develop vocational and technical personnel played a positive role. But over the same period they are to be admitted into the school when vocational students are far from proficiency in English language, to classroom teaching English it brought many difficulties. Thus, with the deepening of China' s reform and opening up, especially after China joining the WTO, English as a common language has increasingly shown its importance. How to improve high vocational English teaching is topic worth serious discussion among educators.展开更多

On the basis of many educators' researches in English teaching, the author presents the problems which associate with our real situation and analyzes the reasons of these problems. Enlightened by Politzer's (1972) assertion that 'language materials must be presented in spoken form before they are introduced in written form'(Els et al. 1984:256), the author of this paper holds that sp...Enlightened by Politzer's (1972) assertion that 'language materials must be presented in spoken form before they are introduced in written form'(Els et al. 1984:256), the author of this paper holds that speaking is likely to be in the juxtaposition of reading in its contribution to better English writing. Course investigation of learners needs reveals their strong wish to improve English writing and classroom atmosphere. 113 sophomores were involved in a series of classroom activities forming the preparing stage for English writing. The variety of activities offers a large platform for the participants to share opinions and exchange information. The investigations of learners' attitudes carried out during the program towards each activity show their preferences concerning majors. [HJ][WTH3]展开更多
