Money supply statistics such as M2 are no longer able to reflect the true scale of global liquidity due to the effect of financial globalization. External bank liabilities, as an important indicator to measure global liquidity conditions, are omitted by many countries in their broad money statistics. Given that financial institutions' external liabilities serve as a major source of fiscal shock as well as an important cause for the accumulation of monetary risk, it is imperative to include these external liabilities into the global liquidity indicator system.展开更多

However, M-banking still faces resistance that may hamper customers' adoption in Egypt. Following a mixed method approach, this study involves two main phases. First, a quantitative Consumer survey is conducted in the form of 350 structured questionnaires to identify the main barriers towards m-banking. Then, decision makers in 5 different public and private banks are interviewed in order to find similarities and difference, and identify service providers' roles regarding these barricrs. Questionnaire data was statistically analysed using independent T-Test, Chi-squares, frequencies and cross tabulations, while interview data was interpretively analysed. Results enabled the researchers to identify the risk, usage, and tradition as the most m-banking barriers that discourage m-banking adoption in Egypt as seen by the two main players.展开更多

The paper shows the use of classic statistical methods in combination with advanced digital measurement systems in order to obtain the correlation dependencies, nature of energy consumption and opportunities for energy forecasting. The main purpose of the study is to obtain statistical dependencies of the nature of power consumption and correlations between electricity consumption and ambient temperature in order to improve the accuracy of energy planning. The analysis includes application of energy management systems for proper energy planning, improving economical efficiency and reducing power and energy losses.展开更多
