The concept of the e-marketplace is introduced.Considering a supply chain with a single manufacturer who sells a single item in an e-marketplace,an analytical model for the use of the e-marketplace in a supply chain is provided.Assuming the market demand is stochastic and price-dependent,the conditions under which the manufacturer and the e-marketplace owner share the market in equilibrium is developed.The existence and uniqueness of the optimal selling price,quantity and transaction percentage are proved.An integrated supply chain is put forward,and then the efficiency of supply chain coordination is studied by comparing the integrated supply chain with the decentralized supply chain.To gain further insights on the theoretical models,extensive simulations are then carried out. 展开更多

In recent years, supply chain management (SCM) has been in popularity as a new management philosophy for all industries, including textile and apparel industries. The textile-apparel supply chain is relatively complex because it encompasses many participants such as yarn manufacturers, fabric manufacturers, garment manufacturers and retailers. Although many scholars are engaged in researching SCM in textile and apparel industries, a systematic classification of textile-apparel chain does not exist. The paper proposes three types of textile-apparel chain, nominated vertical integration chain, traditional sourcing chain and 3P-hub (third party as the hub) chain. Different coordinators exist in different types of chain. Three Hong Kong headquartered companies, Esquel Group, TAL Apparel Ltd., and Li & Fang (Trading) Ltd. are used as cases responding to each type of the structures respectively. 展开更多

Thus, it determines the need for market observation and analysis of the changes taking place. This article aims to examine if the dynamics of the development of e-commerce in Poland significantly affects the development of the offer of modem warehouse space. Based on available market sector reports the article identifies major factors which stimulate storage management on the one hand, but are certain challenges on the other hand. The article is undoubtedly a good starting point for further tests to examine the model on a sample of entities operating in the industry. E-commerce industry in Poland is growing very rapidly. Retail chains are introducing more and more multi-channel solutions, numerous start-ups are being created, there is increasing interest in internet shopping, which, undoubtedly, enhances the development of the sector. Poland online sales represents only a small percentage in total retail sales and has a lot of catching up to do compared to the mature European markets. However, the situation is clearly more dynamic and the differences are decreasing. More and more companies are operating in the industry, which translates into demand for modem warehouse space. The purpose of this article is to present the dynamic changes taking place in the Polish market, closely linked to the development of e-commerce and an attempt to define their role in shaping the offer of modem warehouse space. E-commerce plays a key role in building global supply chains, in which storage can significantly affect their efficiency and agility. The article highlights the changes in the market warehouse in their many aspects, however, it clearly emphasizes the impact of e-commerce sector. E-commerce is revolutionizing supply chains by rebuilding existing links, such as marketing, payment system, distribution, inventory management, and storage. What important, therefore, is the research problem presented in the article, because it presents current trends and market changes. 展开更多

To the accomplishment of this article, we have chosen, as a case study, a small Goiana construction company that acted in the market of social housing. The main goal of this work is to analyze the fundamental aspects related to the management of the flow of supplies in civil construction to achieve a greater streamlining of logistic processes involved in supplying material. A checklist was developed for the purpose of data collection, and it was applied by means of an interview with the person in charge of the purchase department of the enterprise. In addition, this person is the engineer of the site. Taking into account the exploratory feature of this research, the construction site was visited so that some issues, such as quality aspects, losses, cleanliness and organization, could be observed. This on-site data collection visit was carried out through visual analyses and photographs. The obtained results were subdivided into a quantitative and a qualitative analysis. In this way, it was possible to see that the production process still has many phases to be improved. What is more, it was possible to see that the construction company knows its flaws and necessities to improve its processes although the final result does not have the expected quality. Being aware of this need for improvement, the construction company aims at having an affordable price product to the target public, especially when it is associated to an image that shows quality. 展开更多
