The core location and size radius of the final attractors are computed, and they change with the position of the moving measuring point in a unique way. By the Fourier Spectral analysis, we find the frequency-locked behaviors different from the driving scheme of the external periodic force. It when the moving measuring point approaches closely is also found that the meandering spiral wave can be eliminated the boundary and its feedback gain is large enough. This offers an effective and convenient method for eliminating meandering spiral waves.展开更多

The network can remember the past state of the hidden layer and adjust the effect of the past signal to the current value in real-time. And in order to enhance the signal processing capabilities, the feedback of output layer nodes is increased. A hybrid learning algorithm based on genetic algorithm (GA) and error back propagation algorithm (BP) is used to adjust the weight values of the network, which can accelerate the rate of convergence and avoid getting into local optimum. Finally, the improved neural network is utilized to identify underwater vehicle (UV) ' s hydrodynamic model, and the simulation results show that the neural network based on hybrid learning algorithm can improve the learning rate of convergence and identification nrecision.展开更多

Recent studies have dealt with individual dynamics of various aspects of coloration, as it is in many cases a flexible trait and changes in color expression may be context-de- pendent. During the reproductive phase, temporal changes of coloration in the visible spectral range (400-700 nm) have been shown for many animals but corresponding changes in the ultravio- let (UV) waveband (300-400 nm) have rarely been studied. Threespine stickleback Gasterosteus aculeatus males develop conspicuous orange-red breeding coloration combined with UV reflect- ance in the cheek region. We investigated dynamics of color patterns including UV throughout a male breeding cycle, as well as short-term changes in coloration in response to a computer- animated rival using reflectance spectrophotometry and visual modeling, to estimate how colors would be perceived by conspecifics. We found the orange-red component of coloration to vary during the breeding cycle with respect to hue (theta/R50) and intensity (achieved chroma/red chroma). Furthermore, color intensity in the orange-red spectral part (achieved chroma) tended to be increased after the presentation of an artificial rival. Dynamic changes in specific measures of hue and intensity in the UV waveband were not found. In general, the orange-red component of the signal seems to be dynamic with respect to color intensity and hue. This accounts in particular for color changes during the breeding cycle, presumably to signal reproductive status, and with limitations as well in the intrasexual context, most likely to signal dominance or inferiority.展开更多

Since it is difficult to mathematically predict the spike-type stall for its randomness, finding out a practical method to warning this stall precursor appears to be meaningful. The paper explains the relationship between the spike-type precursor and the blade passing irregularity coefficient to analyze whether this coefficient is appropriate for the spike-stall warning inside a centrifugal compressor with the vaned-diffuser. The advanced wireless measurements were conducted on a 1.5 stages test centrifugal compressor to capture the unsteady behavior progressing from the design to stall inception within the region between the impeller trailing edge(TE) and diffuser leading edge(LE). The circumferential distribution of the blade passing irregularity has been quantitatively revealed. The steep increase of the blade passing irregularity at some "special locations", which is responsible for the onset of the spiketype precursor, is highlighted. Also, to further understand the spike precursor inside the diffuser passage corresponding to the circumferential "special location" with maximum irregularity, the high-response transient measurement within this passage is presented. With the help of full-annulus computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation and the mathematical model, it is proved that the blade passing irregularity precisely reflects the flow characteristics during the spike precursor, which presents the guidance for this stall warning method.展开更多
