Since 1980’s, different protocols for quantum key agreement have been proposed and analyzed. A new quantum key agreement protocol was presented in 2004, and a detailed analysis to the protocol was given. The possible game played between legitimate users and the enemy was described: sitting in the middle, an adversary can play a “man-in-the-middle” attack to cheat the sender and receiver. The information leaked to the adversary is essential to the length of the final quantum secret key. It was shown how to determine the amount of information leaked to the enemy and the amount of uncertainty between the legitimate sender and receiver.展开更多
Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBDs), particularly Crohn's disease(CD) and ulcerative colitis(UC), are associated with a variety of extra-intestinal manifestations(EIMs).About 36% of IBD patients have at least one EI...Inflammatory bowel diseases(IBDs), particularly Crohn's disease(CD) and ulcerative colitis(UC), are associated with a variety of extra-intestinal manifestations(EIMs).About 36% of IBD patients have at least one EIM, which most frequently affect the joints, skin, eyes and the biliary tract.The EIMs associated with IBD have a negative impact on patients with UC and CD, and the resolution of most of them parallels that of the active IBD in terms of timing and required therapy;however, the clinical course of EIMs such as axial arthritis, pyoderma gangrenosum, uveitis, and primary sclerosing cholangitis is independent of IBD activity.The peripheral and axial arthritis associated with IBD have traditionally been treated with simple analgesics, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, steroids, sulfasalazine, methotrexate, local steroid injections and physiotherapy, but the introduction of biological response modifi ers such as tumor necrosis factor-α blockers, has led to further improvements.展开更多

The uncertainties in the system are norm-bounded and time-var...This paper deals with the problem of robust reliable H∞ control for a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with time-varying delays and actuator failures. The uncertainties in the system are norm-bounded and time-varying. Based on Lyapunov methods, a sufficient condition on quadratic stabilization independent of delay is obtained. With the help of LMIs (linear matrix inequalities) approaches, a linear state feedback controller is designed to quadratically stabilize the given systems with a H∞ performance constraint of disturbance attenuation for all admissible uncertainties and all actuator failures occurred within the prespecified subset. A numerical example is given to demonstrate the effect of the proposed design approach.展开更多
Disaster risk reduction policy and practice require knowledge for informed decision making and coordinated action. Although the knowledge production and implementation processes are critical for disaster risk reductio...Disaster risk reduction policy and practice require knowledge for informed decision making and coordinated action. Although the knowledge production and implementation processes are critical for disaster risk reduction, these issues are seldom systematically addressed in-depth in disaster studies and policy programs. While efforts and improvements have been made with regard to data and information, only limited resources are committed to improving knowledge management structures and integrating knowledge systems at different spatial levels. The recently adopted Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 addresses knowledge-related issues and provides the opportunity to highlight the critical role of knowledge in disaster risk reduction. This article presents insights into potential conceptualizations of knowledge that would advance disaster research and policy. We use cases from France to illustrate challenges of and pathways to disaster risk reduction. We suggest to further strengthen efforts that improve our understanding of the connections between disaster risk, knowledge, and learning. A better integration of multiple scales, different societal actors,various knowledge sources, and diverse disciplines into disaster risk research will increase its relevance for decision-makers in policy and practice. Well-targeted incentives and political backing will improve the coherence,coordination, and sharing of knowledge among various actors and arenas.展开更多
