The receiver provides a Rake for each subcarrier, and the outputs of the Rakes are combined by a maximal-ratio combiner. The average probability of error of the system is derived from an uncorrelated subcarrier and frequency-selective fading channel model. The system performances are evaluated over Rayleigh fading channel with an exponential multipath intensity profile(MIP) and with a rectangular MIP, respectively, when multipath interference is present. It is found that this kind of model has larger superiority in an exponential MIP than in a rectangular MIP.展开更多

Its structure and working prin- ciple is discussed. The four tracked-units are controlled independently and driven cooperatively. By means of two DC motors being controlled respectively, one tracked-unit can accomplish two types of driving mode: tracked travel and in- tegral unit legged rotation (IULR), forming a track-legged compound function mechanism. Its capabilities of surmount- ing obstacles and its toppling stability in underground mines have also been analyzed. The results show that the mobile mechanism can directly surmount an obstacle of the height less than the length of one tracked-unit and get across a raceway with a span less than the length of one tracked-unit by using tracked travel and IULR. Its unstable slope angle is 51.3°. Toppling stability is determined by its structural size, moving direction and slope angle. IULR of four tracked-units can adjust the robot’s posture and then enhance toppling stability or assist in surmounting obstacles. Its track-legged compound function mechanism makes it suitable for working in underground mines.展开更多

Different from the most studied Snakeboard, the Essboard consists of a torsion bar and two platforms, each of which contains a pedal and a caster. We first investigate the relationship between the tilt angles of the pedals and the wheel directions of the casters. This relationship reveals how to control the wheel directions by adjusting the tilt angles. Next, the rotational radius of the Essboard is derived for a given pair of tilt angles of both pedals. The rotational radius of the Essboard is much different than that of the Snakeboard. Then we develop a path-planning algorithm for the Essboard to move from a start position to the goal, using a series of consecutively connected arcs, which are tangent to each other at the connected points. It is shown from a kinematic point of view that the path planning of the Essboard can be solved by a series of pairs of pedals' tilt angles. Three experiments are conducted to confirm the correctness of the main results. The results in this paper are a foundation for further study of the Essboard.展开更多

The investigation is focused on the effectiveness of the wing elastic bending-twist couplings provided by composite wing beam on the aeroelastic stability for the wing/pylon/rotor coupled system. By introducing the different wing elastic bending-twist couplings into the Boeing’s test model, the aeroelastic stability of the Boeing’s test model with different wing elastic bending-twist couplings has been analyzed. The numerical re-sults indicate that the negative wing beamwise bending-twist elastic coupling (the wing upward beamwise bending engenders the nose-down torsion of the wing section) can saliently enhance the stability of the wing beamwise bending modal. The posi-tive wing chordwise bending-twist elastic coupling (the wing forward chordwise bending engenders the nose-down torsion of the wing section) has a great benefit for increasing the stability of the wing chordwise bending modal.展开更多
