The traditional symmetrical travel time equation is derived based on the assumption of a layered model. It is difficult to achieve the desired effect of focusing in media with strong lateral variation. The nonsymmetrical travel time equation based on Lie algebra and a pseudo-differential operator contains a lateral velocity derivative which can improve the focusing capability even in strongly lateral variable media and also the computation precision of the weight coefficients for relative amplitude preservation. Compared with the symmetrical methods, the nonsymmetrical method is more effective. In this paper, we describe several key steps of nonsymmetric pre-stack travel time calculation and present some test results using synthetic and real data.展开更多

Methods: In our asymmetric PCR protocol, 100 times mole of TB-R primer was added than in the usual symmetric PCR to get enough single strands PCR product. The probe TB-5′-TAMRA and PCR products were mixed in a tube and incubate for 5-15 min at 46 ℃.The polarization (mp) was measured using victor2 Multilabel Plate Reader. Results: Asymmetric and symmetric PCR products were analyzed by the FP method. Asymmetric PCR products are detected more sensitively than symmetric ones. The polarization values of probe associated with asymmetric products were much higher than with symmetric products. Conclusion: This fluorescence polarization assay in conjunction with asymmetric PCR is a powerful and widely applicable method for the rapid and sensitive detection of micro-organisms in clinical laboratories.展开更多

Using the equation of motion for Keldysh nonequilibrium Green function, we study the spin accumulation and polarization for the system. Through analytical analysis and a few numerical examples, it is demonstrated that fairly large spin accumulation and polarization can be produced due to the breaking symmetry of the chemical potential for different electron spin in the leads. Moreover, the direction and the strength of the spin polarization can be conveniently controlled and tuned by varying the charge bias or the gate voltage.展开更多

We show the nonclassicaJ symmetries obtained in [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 289 (2004) 55, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 311 (2005) 479] are not all the nonclassical symmetries. Based on a new assume on the form of invariant surface condition, all the nonclassical symmetries for a class of nonlinear partial differential equations can be obtained through the compatibility method. The nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation and the Cahn-Hilliard equations all serve as examples showing the compatibility method leads quickly and easily to the determining equations for their all nonclassical symmetries for two equations.展开更多

Both the types of shape deviations and their values need to be taken into account in the designing process and play an important role during machine operation. They have a crucial effect on the value and scatter of maximum reduced von Mises stresses and contact stresses. Axisymmetric joints were examined, in which shafts in selected shape variants and in variable angular positions were associated with a non-deformable hole. The aspects of contact zone problems are presented using the example of numerical simulation of contact between an elliptical saddle-shaped shaft placed in a rigid, non-deformable hole in different angular positions. Occurrence of both variable relative stresses and contact stresses as well as shaft's axial shift and rotary movement resistance were demonstrated.展开更多
