Diabetes is a leading chronic disease of childhood and adolescence. In addition to the well-known auto-immune, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type 1 diabetes (T 1D)), the past two decades have witnessed the emergence of type 2 diabetes (T2D) in children and adolescents, which previously was only seen in middle-aged or older adults. One of the key components of diabetes management is physical activity (PA). The beneficial effects of increased PA and decreased sedentary behavior are extremely important in youth with diabetes because of the markedly increased long-term risk of cardiovascular disease in this population compared to persons without diabetes. This review aims to comprehensively summarize the epidemiologic, observational research published and listed in PubMed between 1970 and 2012 on PA and sedentary behaviors, as well as physical fitness in children and adolescents with T1D and T2D. Additionally, we describe briefly the state of knowledge on perceived barriers of PA in persons with diabetes, with a focus on hypoglycemia. Finally, we provide an overview of the epidemiological literature pertaining to health benefits of increased PA in youth with TID and T2D and briefly discuss the topic of exercise-related hypoglycemia, Copyright ~ 2012, Shanghai University of Sport. Objective: To observe the effects of cytokine-induced killer (CIK) cells on the treatment of renal cell carcinoma. Methods: Twenty-eight postoperative cases with stage Ⅰ or stage Ⅱrenal cell carcinoma were admitted in our hospital from January 2002 to June 2006, all cases were pathologically confirmed, and were divided into group A (18 cases) and group B (10 cases). Group A was administrated 3-12 periods of CIK cells treatment combined with 5-7 cycles of IL-2 and INFα-2b, together with 4 cycles of chemotherapy (5-Fu + CF). Group B was given 4 cycles of chemotherapy (5-Fu + CF) and 5-7 cycles of IL-2 and INFa-2b. Results: Three cases in group A had metastatic masses in two lungs within 1 year and died within 2 years postoperatively. The other 15 cases are still alive and in good health. Six cases in group B had metastatic masses in two lungs or/and in abdominal cavity within 1 year, and 4 of them died within 2 years. All the 6 cases died within 3 years. The other 4 cases are still alive and in good health. Conclusion: CIK cells are safe and effective for the treatment of stage I or stage II renal cell carcinoma, which should be further widely used. 展开更多

In the last two or three decades, physical activity(PA) has gained increasing recognition as being essential for maintaining good health and improving quality of life for all ages.Children have traditionally been active in both free play and organized sports. However, there has been a recent decline in the PA levels among children for various reasons. This lifestyle change has resulted in increased obesity accompanied by a rise in diabetes and cardiovascular risk among otherwise healthy children. These lifestyle changes have been shown to be even more a problem when the child is already affected by a chronic disease.Due to medical limitations and contraindications, much care must be taken to make certain that these children are involved in the appropriate volume and intensity of exercise. The type of activity must also be given careful consideration to avoid undue risk for the child who may have problems such as poor balance, limited strength, poor vision,or cognitive disability.Further complications are either caused or exacerbated by lack of sufficient PA.The priority beyond concern for safety should be focused on ensuring the highest quality of life possible. The purpose of this review is to examine how PA can benefit children with selected chronic health conditions. 展开更多

This study based on documents and materials, interview, experiment and data statistical analysis, as well as by the means of "Health Qigong.WuQinxi", and carries on a 4-month exercise intervention aiming at the university students, furthermore to have a comparison of their level scores on physical shape, physiological indicator, before and after the experiment. And we come to a conclusion through this 4-month exercise, when concerns to physical shape and physiological indicator: we can see a significant difference on WHR body mass index and vital capacity (p≤ 0.01); as well as waist circumference, pulse, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, sit and reach, grip strength (p ≤ 0.05). So we note that long-term "Health Qignng .WuQinxi" practice can improve the physical health of the university students, and assess the students who failed to meet health standards physically, and fmally realize our hope promoting the comprehensive development of university students. 展开更多
