Dynamic oscillatory test was used to quantitatively study the distinct viscoelastic behaviors of debris flow slurry in the shear stress conditions for the first time in this study. The debris flow slurry samples were from Jiangjiagou Ravine, Yunnan Province, China. The experimental results were found that at the low and middle stages of shearing, when the angular velocity 09〈72.46 s-1, the loss modulus (G was greater than the storage modulus (G3, i.e. G"〉G'. At the late stage of shearing, when the angular velocity co-72.46 s-x, the storage modulus was greater than or equal to the loss G = G, tan -〈 1 (where phase-shift modulus, i.e. ' 〉 " angle 5=G",/G3, and the debris flow slurry was in a gel state. Therefore, the progress of this experimental study further reveals the mechanism of hyperconcentrated debris flows with a high velocity on low-gradient ravines.展开更多

Alginate gel (1% - 3%) exhibited enhanced effects, especially when alginate gel concentration increased. The rheological properties of mixture samples were studied by the time sweep, frequency sweep and temperature sweep. The critical strain values of the mixture samples for the onset of non-linear viscoelasticity were about 5%. The storage modulus G' of the mixture samples increased with time for 4 h. The frequency sweep showed that G' was greater than G" for all the mixture gels with different alginate gel concentrations, and values of both n' and n" for all samples were low (<0.2), these constants corresponding to G' and G", and indicating the elasticity of mixture gels. The values of storage modulus G' decreased during heating process and increased with decreasing temperature.展开更多

For the purpose of exploring the evaluation model for the SCCIP, a method based on quantitative risk assessment was adopted for evaluating transport risk and to confirm reasonable safety transport capacity of chemical industrial park, and then by combining with the safety storage capacity, a SCCIP evaluation model was put forward. The SCCIP was decided by the smaller one between the largest safety storage capacity and the maximum safety transport capacity, or else, the regional risk of the park will exceed the acceptable level.The developed method was applied to a chemical industrial park in Guangdong province to obtain the maximum safety transport capacity and the SCCIP. The influence of temperature and mass fraction of Pluonic F127 on the rheological properties of polyvinyl butyric (PVB)/Pluronic F127/polyethylene glycol (PEG) 200 blend systems was investigated by a rotational rh...The influence of temperature and mass fraction of Pluonic F127 on the rheological properties of polyvinyl butyric (PVB)/Pluronic F127/polyethylene glycol (PEG) 200 blend systems was investigated by a rotational rheometer with parallel plates. The results show that the blend systems approach homogeneous state at 140, 150 and 160℃while the rheological properties of the blend systems significantly deviate from the homogeneous systems at 120℃. Shear thinning behavior is observed for all the blend systems at different temperatures and is enhanced by increasing Pluronic F127 content. The complex viscosity, storage modulus, loss modulus, zero-shear activation energy and flow recovery of the blend systems increase with the increase of Pluronic F127 content. There is a crossing point for the loss modulus and the storage modulus of each sample at high frequency, which is called specified frequency (SF). The loss modulus is larger than the storage modulus when the frequency is less than the SF, and when frequency is more than SF, the loss modulus is smaller than the storage modulus.展开更多

Power system utilizes a SVHPWM (space-vector-based hybrid pulse width modulation) for a reduced harmonic distortion and switching loss. Associated electromagnetic interference mitigation and cooling requirements are significantly reduced. Voltage source inverter drives a three-phase MLC200 flywheel. The modularity of the proposed topology also simplifies overall system design and manufacturability. The system topology and control strategy are discussed. Besides computing power and simulation increase more day by day, the increasing requirements more detailed of topography surface simulation is a demand. In simulated flooding phenomenon or phenomena related to energy and momentum of water flow, the linear objects of ground surface such as roads, dikes, dams, etc. need to have their vertical dimension along continuously. However, these datas have often no height information alternately, there are only discrete elevation points that are extracted from topographic maps. The energy balance concept and sampling technique were used to simplify the calculation algorithm for the required utility source current and to control the voltage of the energy storage capacitor. The feasibility was verified by using the Pspice simulations and experiments. When the APF mode was used during non-operational period, not only the utilization rate, power factor and power quality could be improved, but also the capacity of energy storage capacitor could sparing. As the results, the advantages of the APF circuit are simplicity of control circuits, low cost, and good transient response.展开更多

Simulation and experimental results show that the natural convection heat transfer of water in a cylinder tank fits well with Garon's correlation. However, significant deviations occur when Garon's correlation is used to predict the natural convection heat transfer of molten salt because of its high viscosity and low thermal conductivity. However, the simulated data of the natural convection heat transfer of molten salt fit well with those of the experimental results Thus, a correlation that considers the effect of variable physical properties is proposed in this study to predict the natural con- vection heat transfer of molten salt. The deviation of the present data from the proposed correlation is less than +20%. The re- sults of this study can serve as a basis for the design of single energy storage tanks.展开更多

The concept of effective plastic ener...The aim of this study is to formulate an appropriate free energy potential for inelastic behavior of concrete and construct an elastoplastic damage model on a more rational basis. The concept of effective plastic energy storage rates is proposed, which are conjugate forces of hardening variables in an undamaged configuration. Then an analogy between the evolution of harden- ing variables and that of a plastic strain is used to postulate the formulation of plastic free energy. This formulation reflects the specific characteristics of a certain plasticity model, so it can serve well as a thermodynamic link between plasticity and dam- age. By combination of the general formulation of free energy with the double hardening plasticity theory and two-parameter damage expression, a thermodynamically well-founded elastoplastic damage model for concrete is constructed. The operator split algorithm is emploved, and the numerical simulations a^ree well with a series of material tests.展开更多
