In order to identify sequence elements ...The 1 195 bp 5′ flanking region of rice ( Oryza sativa L.) cytosolic fructose_1, 6_bisphosphatase (cyFBPase) can direct tissue, cell specific expression in transgenic rice. In order to identify sequence elements responsible for the regulation of mesophyll_specific expression, the 5′ flanking regions of -1 195 bp, -1 102 bp, -768 bp, and -644 bp upstream of the translation initiation ATG codon were fused to the reporter gene encoding β_glucuronidase (GUS) and transferred to rice via particle bombardment. Analysis of the 5′ promoter deletions identified that a 93 bp fragment between -1 195 bp and -1 102 bp is essential for directing mesophyll specific expression. High constitutive expression of GUS reporter gene was found in the -768 deletion lines and another two deletion series. These results indicate the great potential utility of the promoter in rice biotechnology.展开更多
The single-phase pressure drop and heat transfer in a rotor-assembled strand inserted tube were measured using water as the working fluid.Experiment using a smooth tube was carried out to calibrate the experimental sy...The single-phase pressure drop and heat transfer in a rotor-assembled strand inserted tube were measured using water as the working fluid.Experiment using a smooth tube was carried out to calibrate the experimental system and the data reduction method.In the experiment,fixed mounts were used to eliminate the entrance effect. The experimental results of smooth tube show that employment of fixed mounts leads to a visible bias of friction factor at relative low Reynolds numbers,although it does not significantly affect the Nusselt numbers.The measured data of inserted tube reveal that rotor-assembled strand can significantly improve heat transfer with the Nusselt number increased by 101.6%-106.6%and the overall heat transfer coefficient increased by 58.1%-67.4%within the Reynolds number range of 20000 to 36000.Meanwhile,friction factor increases by 52.2%-84.2%within the same Reynolds number range.The correlations of Nusselt number and friction factor as function of the Reynolds number and Prandtl number were determined through multivariant linear normal regression.展开更多

It takes advantage of the re...A novel method for phase-detecting of each individual beam in coherent beam combining system of fiber laser array based on the property of time-shift of fast Fourier transform is reported. It takes advantage of the relative movement of fringepattern to detect the phase shift between each individual beam and reference beam. No frequency shift component for reference beam is required in the system. At the same time, the acquisition fringe-pattern is firstly tailored to a few multiple of fringes in order to reduce the phase-detecting error caused by energy leakage during the course of fast Fourier transform. This technique can greatly reduce the effect of energy leakage and thus improve the phase-detecting precision. Basic principle of the new phase-detecting method is described in detail, and numerical results show that the phase-detecting error is less than 1/1000 wavelength bv utilizing our method.展开更多

Furthermore,choosing a range of proper values for carcass stiffness is very essential for both tire safety and effective driving action. In this work,an elaborated 3D model fully compliant with the geometrical size of radial tire 185/60 R15 is worked up, for evaluating the effects of components properties and working conditions on deformation and stress/strain fields created inside the tire. For the simulation, the tire structure is assumed to be composed of tread, carcass ply, and bead. The mechanical behavior of rubber as main component of tire is described by Mooney-Rivlin material model. The comparison of the obtained results and laboratory tests demonstrates the validity and high accuracy of analysis.展开更多

This method can make the production fast and effective at small series or frequent manufacturing changes. The shop-floor control method, presented in this paper, offers a solution for the facing problem of fast and easy reconfiguration. The hardware of the controller designed modular with software components for online configuration. This solution allows sensor integration on different levels for every part of the manufacturing cell. With unified programming language and the machine specific controllers (post-processing) the cells can be defined easily by different types of human-machine interaction. The shop-floor control architecture is implemented and validated on an Adept SCARA (selective compliance assembly robot arm) robot. The robot is driven by standalone, low-level, interchangeable, software and hardware components.展开更多

In order to describe and control the stress distribution and total deformation of bladed disk assemblies used in the aeroengine, a highly efficient and precise method of probabilistic analysis which is called extremum...In order to describe and control the stress distribution and total deformation of bladed disk assemblies used in the aeroengine, a highly efficient and precise method of probabilistic analysis which is called extremum response surface method(ERSM) is produced based on the previous deterministic analysis results with the finite element model(FEM). In this work, many key nonlinear factors, such as the dynamic feature of the temperature load, the centrifugal force and the boundary conditions, are taken into consideration for the model. The changing patterns with time of bladed disk assemblies about stress distribution and total deformation are obtained during the deterministic analysis, and at the same time, the largest deformation and stress nodes of bladed disk assemblies are found and taken as input target of probabilistic analysis in a scientific and reasonable way. Not only their reliability, historical sample, extreme response surface(ERS) and the cumulative probability distribution function but also their sensitivity and effect probability are obtained. Main factors affecting stress distribution and total deformation of bladed disk assemblies are investigated through the sensitivity analysis of the model. Finally, compared with the response surface method(RSM) and the Monte Carlo simulation(MCS), the results show that this new approach is effective.展开更多
