When th...In order to implement semantic mapping of database metasearch engines, a system is proposed, which uses ontology as the organization form of information and records the new words not appearing in the ontology. When the new word' s frequency of use exceeds the threshold, it is added into the ontology. Ontology expansion is implemented in this way. The search process supports "and" and "or" Boolean operations accordingly. In order to improve the mapping speed of the system, a memory module is added which can memorize the recent query information of users and automatically learn the user' s query interest during the mapping which can dynamically decide the search order of instances tables. Experiments prove that these measures can obviously reduce the average mapping time.展开更多

Laser-assisted machining has been considered as a new alternative machining method of difficult-to-cut materials. Fi...Laser-assisted machining has been considered as a new alternative machining method of difficult-to-cut materials. A laser module with one-axis manipulator is developed to focus on preheating laser beam effectively. First of all, the thermal characteristic analysis was performed to verify the importance of laser module location. Laser module should be moved within 1 mm. Analysis conditions of three positions in driving range of the one-axis manipulator are selected. And a C coupling is used as a connection device for spindle and laser module. An initial model has one C coupling, and the number of C coupling has been increased from 1 to 2 in an improved model. And the analysis is carried out again for the one-axis manipulator. The results of the static analysis, the maximum displacement and the maximum stress are decreased by 22% and 11%, respectively, for the improved model when the laser module is located at farthest away from the spindle unit. As a result of the modal analysis, the first natural frequency mode is increased by 13%, 18% and 12% at these positions of the improved model, respectively. The harmonic analysis of the improved model was performed by analyzing the results of the modal analysis. The maximum deformation was 0.33 mm in driving unit at 222 Hz. And the maximum compliance of the ISO axis direction was 0.23 mm/N. Finally, the one-axis manipulator has been fabricated successfully using the analysis result.展开更多
In order to continuously simulate multi-pass plate rolling process,a 3-D elastic hollow-roll model was proposed and an auto mesh-refining module with data passing was developed and integrated with FE software,Marc.The...In order to continuously simulate multi-pass plate rolling process,a 3-D elastic hollow-roll model was proposed and an auto mesh-refining module with data passing was developed and integrated with FE software,Marc.The hollow-roll model has equivalent stiffness of bending resistance and deformation to the real solid and much less meshes,so the computational time is greatly reduced.Based on these,the factors influencing plate profile,such as the roll-bending force,initial crown,thermal crown and heat transfer during rolling and inter-pass cooling can be taken into account in the simulation.The auto mesh-refining module with data passing can automatically refine and re-number elements and transfer the nodal and elemental results to the new meshes.Furthermore,the 3-D modeling routine is parametrically developed and can be run independently of Marc pre-processing program.A seven-pass industrial hot rolling process was continuously simulated to validate the accuracy of model.By comparison of the calculated results with the industrial measured data,the rolling force,temperature and plate profile are in good accordance with the measured ones.展开更多
The unit modular technique is one in which unit modules are prefabricated in a factory and then constructed at a construction site. That is why an important process, transport of unit module, is added in this techniqu...The unit modular technique is one in which unit modules are prefabricated in a factory and then constructed at a construction site. That is why an important process, transport of unit module, is added in this technique. However, it is not easy to transport a unit module that is high prefabrication ratio (prefab. ratio) (70-90%), since the walls and interior and exterior materials installed in it can become broken when the unit module is fixed using general fixation tools, including ropes and fixing belts. When the external wall, windows, etc. are damaged during the transportation, the efficiency of unit modular method is deteriorated. Taking this into account, the purpose of this study is to develop an improved fixation device that is convenient for fixing a unit module with a high prefab, ratio to a vehicle and securing the safety while running. The L-type adapter block proposed in this study was evaluated the structural safety through simulation method. The result of the simulation is that it seems desirable to set the working load of the L-type adapter block as 15 kN for Case 1 and 30 kN for Case 2. Therefore, when the L-type adapter block is utilized under the conditions in which the same load is applied as in Case 2, it is expected that safety will be improved.展开更多
RLWI (Riserless Light Well Intervention) technology has the advantage of utilizing a special subsea lubricator to perform intervention activities in water depths of up to 1,200 m without the need for the marine rise...RLWI (Riserless Light Well Intervention) technology has the advantage of utilizing a special subsea lubricator to perform intervention activities in water depths of up to 1,200 m without the need for the marine risers. Utilizing the technology, oil companies have been able to save up to 50% on the intervention costs. However, in the last five years, it has seen up to 25% downtime due to waiting on weather (wow). Thus, in this manuscript, it is attempted to identify the critical elements of the module deployment system and analyze their significance in the objective of raising the operational weather limit. Critical failure modes were found to be failure of crane wire due to excess loading, failure of the lower cursor system due to the impact loading and clashing of the module with the moonpool walls. Analysis of the module deployment system against these failure modes was ensued by using Orcaflex. The results showed the moonpool sea state to be the defining parameter. Although, changing moonpool dimensions affect hydrodynamics positively, however it's significance is small due to dependency on the vessel's breadth. Based on these results and the available data for the analysis, a recommended system particular was tested. Significance improvement, in lowering the risk of failure was observed.展开更多

Principal component analysis(PCA) is widely applied as a dimension reduction technique for capturing strong correlation underlying in the process measurements. However, it is difficult for PCA based fault detection results to be interpreted physically and to provide support for isolation. Some approaches incorporating process knowledge are developed, but the information is always shortage and deficient in practice. Therefore, this work proposes an adaptive partitioning PCA algorithm entirely based on operation data. The process feature space is partitioned into several sub-feature spaces. Constructed sub-block models can not only reflect the local behavior of process change, namely to grasp the intrinsic local information underlying the process changes, but also improve the fault detection and isolation through the combination of local fault detection results and reduction of smearing effect.The method is demonstrated in TE process, and the results show that the new method is much better in fault detection and isolation compared to conventional PCA method.展开更多

A two-phase charge pump...A power management unit (PMU) chip supplying dual panel supply voltage, which has a low electro-magnetic interference (EMI) characteristic and is favorable for miniaturization, is designed. A two-phase charge pump circuit using external pumping capacitor increases its pumping current and works out the charge-loss problem by using bulk-potential biasing circuit. A low-power start-up circuit is also proposed to reduce the power consumption of the band-gap reference voltage generator. And the ring oscillator used in the ELVSS power circuit is designed with logic devices by supplying the logic power supply to reduce the layout area. The PMU chip is designed with MagnaChip's 0.25 μ high-voltage process. The driving currents of ELVDD and ELVSS are more than 50 mA when a SPICE simulation is done.展开更多
