A new treatment of inlet boundary was established by discriminating fluid particles from inlet particles. The roles of artificial viscosity and moving least squares method in the present model were compared in the handling pressure oscillation. The final model was substantiated by simulating filling process in HPDC in both two and three dimensions. The simulated results from SPH and finite difference method (FDM) were compared with the experiments. The results show the former is in a better agreement with experiments. It demonstrates the efficiency and precision of this SPH model in describing flow pattern in filling process.展开更多

The method is based on the CL-emitting reaction between meloxicam and potassium permanganate in a hydrochloric acid medium, enhanced by formaldehyde (HCHO). Under optimum conditions, calibration curve over the range of 1.0-20.0μg/mL was obtained. The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of meloxicam in capsules with no evi- dence of interference from common excipients. The detection limit of this method was 25.6 ng/mL. The relative standard deviation was 2.1% for 10.0 μg/mL meloxicam. The sample throughput was found to be 120 samples/h.展开更多

This trend requires us to understand carrier dynamics in semiconductor heterojunctions with both high spatial and temporal resolutions. Recently, we have successfully set up a timeresolved photoemission electron microscopy (TR-PEEM), which integrates the spectroscopic technique to measure electron densities at specific energy levels in space. This instrument provides us an unprecedented access to the evolution of electrons in terms of spatial location, time resolution, and energy, representing a new type of 4D spectro-microscopy. Here in this work, we present measurements of semiconductor performance with a time resolution of 184 fs, electron kinetic energy resolution of 150 meV, and spatial resolution of about 150 nm or better. We obtained time-resolved micro-area photoelectron spectra and energy-resolved TR-PEEM images on the Pb island on Si(111). These experimental results suggest that this instrument has the potential to be a powerful tool for investigating the carrier dynamics in various heterojunctions, which will deepen our understanding of semiconductor properties in the submicron/nanometer spatial scales and ultrafast time scales.展开更多

For single-GPU, we first use a neighborhood search algorithm of compacting cell index combined with spatial domain characteristics For multi-GPU, we focus on the changing patterns of SPH's computational time. Simple dynamic load balancing algorithm works well because the computational time of each time step changes slowly compared to previous time step. By further optimizing dynamic load balancing algorithm and the communication strategy among GPUs, a nearly linear speedup is achieved in different scenarios with a scale of millions particles. The quality and efficiency of our methods are demonstrated using multiple scenes with different particle numbers.展开更多

Optical visualization results indicated that there might exist three flow patterns, i.e. bubble-liquid slug flow, semi-annular flow and annular flow, corresponding to different working conditions. For a given geometry and an adequate fill ratio, the PHPs had the self-adjusting characteristic for the flow patterns (from slug flow to semi-annular and then to annular flow) to meet the demands of the increasing heat input. Two special configurations, one with alternately varying channel diameter, the other equipped with one section of thicker tube, were found to be advantageous in establishing and maintaining reliable circulation of the working fluid. The thermal performance of the PHPs was examined over a range of working conditions. Comparing with the normal PHP with uniform diameter, either of the improved PHPs exhibited higher thermal performance.展开更多

We experienced a 60 years old male who was performed lipema excision on his back in his family doctor's clinic. Since massive arterial bleeding could not be controlled with manual astriction, he transferred to our hospital in prone position with hemodynamic instability. Operating field was not kept because of massive bleeding; therefore surgical treatment was impossible. We planed emergency arterial embolization (AE) in prone position. Hence we chose the left radial artery for vascular access. The left subclavicle arteriography showed many major and minor feeding arteries from left subclavicular and axillary arteries and a massive extravasation of the contrast medium. Three major feeding arteries were performed AE with gelatin sponge and steel coils, After AE, massive bleeding was controlled. He could discharge from our hospital on the 5th hospital day without any complication. Arterial embolization for lifethreatening bleeding from subcutaneous hypervascular tumor in the prone position is first report to our knowledge, and it is extremely rare. However we thought that this technique is useful for patients who could not turn in the supine position, e.g. massive bleeding during renal biopsy and penetrating trauma from back.展开更多
