Two ternary materials systems, which comprise two-photon initiators, oligomer and poly(methyl methacrylate), were prepared. A polymeric waveguide film was manufactured by spinning the materials on ITO, and the two-photon initiated photopolymerization(TPIP) was carried out successfully in the waveguide film. Consequently, an approach using TPIP is demonstrated for fabrication of grating in a thin polymeric film possessing waveguide properties. 根据磁光材料的非互易特性和波导光栅的滤波特性,介绍了一种磁光波导光栅的非互易滤波特性及其应用。该磁光波导光栅采用法拉第旋转系数为4800°/cm的掺铈钇铁石榴石(Ce∶YIG)材料、单模的脊型补偿墙截面结构和cosine型变迹光栅结... 根据磁光材料的非互易特性和波导光栅的滤波特性,介绍了一种磁光波导光栅的非互易滤波特性及其应用。该磁光波导光栅采用法拉第旋转系数为4800°/cm的掺铈钇铁石榴石(Ce∶YIG)材料、单模的脊型补偿墙截面结构和cosine型变迹光栅结构的设计。利用有限差分法和等效折射率法模拟该磁光波导光栅非互易效应的大小,同时结合耦合模理论和转移矩阵法对该磁光波导光栅的非互易滤波特性进行分析。结果表明,对于TE模和1550 nm波段,该磁光波导光栅正反向传输的中心波长偏移0.8 nm,带宽0.4 nm(-20 dB)。这种非互易滤波特性可以用来实现波长选择光隔离器和光分插复用器(OADM)等集成光学器件。 展开更多

免标记、实时、高灵敏的生物检测是分析生物领域重要的技术。利用光波导模式理论构建生物传感器模型,设计了基于MEMS微镜的小型化生物传感检测系统,测试并分析了MEMS微镜的动态响应特性。通过计算仿真,得到了灵敏度与波导厚度和有效折... 免标记、实时、高灵敏的生物检测是分析生物领域重要的技术。利用光波导模式理论构建生物传感器模型,设计了基于MEMS微镜的小型化生物传感检测系统,测试并分析了MEMS微镜的动态响应特性。通过计算仿真,得到了灵敏度与波导厚度和有效折射率之间的关系。以TE模式和TM模式进行葡萄糖溶液检测,实验结果表明,溶液浓度与入射角间呈现出良好的线性关系,灵敏度可达到5 ng/m L,相比传统的免疫学检测方法具有较高灵敏度。该方法由于检测系统体积小、结构简单、无标记,可实现原位检测,避免了对蛋白质活性的破坏,是一种具有较大潜力的蛋白质无标记光学检测方法。 展开更多

Three wavelengths (1310, 1490,and 1550nm) operate at three diffraction orders of AWGs. Simulation shows that the 3dB bandwidth,crosstalk, and loss are 6nm,less than -40dB, and 5dB, respectively. By etching a second-order grating directly into the Al-free optical waveguide region of a ridgewaveguide(RW) AlGaInAs/AlGaAs distributed feedback(DFB) laser diode,a front facet output power of 30mW is obtained at about 820nm with a single longitudinal mode. The Al-free grating surface permits the re-growth of a high-quality cladding layer that yields excellent device performance. The threshold current of these laser diodes is 57mA,and the slope efficiency is about 0.32mW/mA. 展开更多

There is a growing awareness among industry players of reaping the benefits of mobile-cloud convergence by extending today's unmodified cloud to a decentralized two-level cloud-cloudlet architecture based on emerging mobile-edge computing(MEC) capabilities. In light of future 5G mobile networks moving toward decentralization based on cloudlets, intelligent base stations, and MEC, the inherent distributed processing and storage capabilities of radio-and-fiber(R&F) networks may be exploited for new applications, e.g., cognitive assistance, augmented reality, or cloud robotics. In this paper, we first revisit fiber-wireless(Fi Wi) networks in the context of conventional clouds and emerging cloudlets, thereby highlighting the limitations of conventional radio-overfiber(Ro F) networks such as China Mobile's centralized cloud radio access network(C-RAN) to meet the aforementioned trends. Furthermore, we pay close attention to the specific design challenges of data center networks and revisit our switchless arrayedwaveguide grating(AWG) based network with efficient support of east-west flows and enhanced scalability. 展开更多

The scalar two-dimensional finite difference time domain (FDTD) method is applied to simulate the mode field distribution of TE 0 of the waveguide grating coupler. Computer simulation shows that the same stable mode field distribution pattern is obtained through the different kinds of driving sources. It is found that the optical field mode is determined by waveguide structure and optical wavelength other than the driving source.According to the mode field distribution, the optimum coupling efficiency can be predicted. Compared with another numerical methods,the CPU-time and memory elements of computer used by FDTD are much less. 展开更多

The structure of 4×4 AWG is designed and the result of stimulated test is also given. An efficient technique is used to flatten the spectral response of an arrayed waveguide grating (AWG) multiplexer. By subtracting an increment from the core width of odd arrayed waveguides and by adding the same increment to that of even arrayed waveguides,a box-like spectral response can be obtained. A 17 × 17 polymer AWG multiplexer with box- like spectral response has been made using FPE polymer materials. Measured result for the AWG shows that the box-like spectral response has a 3dB bandwidth of 0. 476nm, the crosstalk is about or less than - 21dB for every output channel,and the insertion loss is 13-15dB. 展开更多

We analytically present a family of nonautonomous dark solitons and rogue waves in a planar graded-index grating waveguide with an additional long-period grating.The dark solitons whose dynamics described by the explicit expressions such as the valley,background and wave central position are investigated.We find that dark soliton's depth and the long-period grating have effects on soliton's wave central position;the gain or loss term affects directly both the background and valley of the soliton.For rogue waves,it is reported that one can modulate the distribution of the light intensity by adjusting the parameters of the long-period grating.Additionally,more rogue waves with different evolution behaviors in this special waveguide are demonstrated clearly. 展开更多
