As the voltage has local characteristics in a power system, system voltage control has depended on human experts in distribution substation local reactive power control station so far in Korea. Since coordinative automatic control has been possible due to the recent advances in computers and communication networks, the hierarchical voltage control system, consisting of primary, secondary, and tertiary control, has been applied in several European countries. Recently the Korea power system has been operated more closely to stability limits because of rapid growth in load-demand as seen in Europe. For this reasons, Korea electric power corporation recognized the need of the voltage control system and developed the voltage control system. This paper presents an intelligent voltage control system for domestic power system using numerical algorithm based on the sensitivity matrix and the expert system. Dynamic characteristics of the developed system are investigated using EMTDC (electromagnetic transient DC analysis program) and RTDS (real time digital simulator). Several case studies showed the promising performance. 展开更多

In order to verify a transformer protective lED that might be operating in substation automation system, the new standardized document and procedures are required in the aspect of the utility like KEPCO. But there is nothing to describe systematically how to verify IEC 6 1850 based lED in the system environment except an individual IED testing way. This paper will present the substation automation system based ways and procedures to verify the protective function of the IED using UML (Unified Modeling Language). 展开更多

This paper considers dynamical systems under feedback with control actions limited toswitching.The authors wish to understand the closed-loop systems as approximating multi-scale problemsin which the implementation of switching merely acts on a fast scale.Such hybrid dynamicalsystems are extensively studied in the literature,but not much so far for feedback with partial stateobservation.This becomes in particular relevant when the dynamical systems are governed by partialdifferential equations.The authors introduce an augmented BV setting which permits recognition ofcertain fast scale effects and give a corresponding well-posedness result for observations with such minimalregularity.As an application for this setting,the authors show existence of solutions for systemsof semilinear hyperbolic equations under such feedback with pointwise observations. 展开更多
