Feiyan Shoal is a sub Yellow River Delta, which was formed from Jan. 1964 to May 1976, when the Yellow River entered sea via Diaokou Channel. Since the terminal reach shifted to Qingshuigou channel in 1976, Feiyan Sho...Feiyan Shoal is a sub Yellow River Delta, which was formed from Jan. 1964 to May 1976, when the Yellow River entered sea via Diaokou Channel. Since the terminal reach shifted to Qingshuigou channel in 1976, Feiyan Shoal has been experiencing severe erosion and retreat. This paper explains the evolutionary characteristics of the typical profile of Feiyan Shoal from the perspective of dynamical force and sediments' characteristics. All this is on the basis of the data of topographic profiles observed since the 1970s and the samples of hydrology and sediments collected in situ in Apr. 2004, the analysis of the retreating distance, and the tidal and wave friction velocity distribution. Feiyan Shoal topographical profile has experienced a course of "fast erosion and retrogression - slow eroding modulation - fluctuate triggering change" in recent 30 years, which is also the gradual disappearing process of the delta front. The different intensity of sediment erosion resistance is the main reason for the erosion speed changes. Due to the hydrodynamic force changes, the water depth range of maximum retreating distance and between erosion and progradation became shallow. It indicates that the storm tide will still be the triggering force of seashore topographic profile evolutions in the future.展开更多

The influence of high pressure and manganese addition on Fe-rich phases(FRPs)and mechanical properties of Al-14Si-2Fe alloy with rheo-squeeze casting(RSC)was investigated.The semi-solid alloy melt was treated by ultra...The influence of high pressure and manganese addition on Fe-rich phases(FRPs)and mechanical properties of Al-14Si-2Fe alloy with rheo-squeeze casting(RSC)was investigated.The semi-solid alloy melt was treated by ultrasonic vibration(UV)firstly,and then formed by squeeze casting(SC).Results show that the FRPs in as-cast SC alloys are composed of coarseβ-Al5(Fe,Mn)Si,δ-Al4(Fe,Mn)Si2 and bone-shapedα-Al15(Fe,Mn)3Si2 phases when the pressure is 0 MPa.With RSC process,the FRPs are first refined by UV,and then the solidification under pressure further causes the grains to become smaller.The peritectic transformation occurs during the formation ofαphase.For the alloy with the same composition,the ultimate tensile strength(UTS)of RSC sample is higher than that of the SC sample.With the same forming process,the UTS of Al-14Si-2Fe-0.8Mn alloy is higher than that of Al-14Si-2Fe-0.4Mn alloy.展开更多

A combination of the swirl enthalpy equilibration device (SEED) process, isothermal holding u...The feasibility of semi solid processing of hypereutectic A390 alloys using a novel rheoforming process was investigated. A combination of the swirl enthalpy equilibration device (SEED) process, isothermal holding using insulation and addition of solid alloy during swirling was introduced as a novel method to improve the processability of semi solid slurry. The effects of isothermal holding and the addition of solid alloy on the temperature gradient between the centre and the wall and on the formation of a(Al) particles were examined. In additional tests, phosphorus and strontium were added to the molten metal to refine the primary and eutectic silicon structure to facilitate semi solid processing. The results show that the combination of the SEED process with two additional processing steps can produce semi-solid A390 alloys that can be rheoprocessed. The microstructure reveals an adequate amount of non-dendritic a(Al) globules surrounded by liquid, which greatly improves the processability of semi-solid slurry.展开更多
A straightforward technique has been developed to quickly determine the wall contour of super/hypersonic nozzles working at multiply Mach number which share a common throat section.Mach number distribution along the c...A straightforward technique has been developed to quickly determine the wall contour of super/hypersonic nozzles working at multiply Mach number which share a common throat section.Mach number distribution along the centerline of the nozzle is specified in advance and divided into two sections,both of which are described by the b-spline function.The first section is shared by different exit Mach number nozzles.The nozzle contour is determined by the method of characteristics plus boundary layer correction.An example of this design method is employed to illustrate the technique with a computational fluid dynamics calculation.The simulation results indicate that desired Mach numbers are obtained at the nozzle exit,and the good flow quality is attained for different nozzles within δMa/Ma<±0.56% in the flow core region.This technique improves the design precision of the converging-diverging nozzle,cancels waves completely,and achieves nozzles with multiple Mach number exiting which share a common throat section.展开更多
