Then a Bayesian voxel- wised method, graphical-model-based multivariate analysis (GAMMA), is used to explore the associations between abnormal functional integration within DMN and clinical variable. Without any prior knowledge, five machine learning methods, namely, support vector machines (SVMs), classification and regression trees ( CART ), logistic regression, the Bayesian network, and C4.5, are applied to the classification. The functional integration patterns were alternative within DMN, which have the power to predict MHE with an accuracy of 98%. The GAMMA method generating functional integration patterns within DMN can become a simple, objective, and common imaging biomarker for detecting MIIE and can serve as a supplement to the existing diagnostic methods.展开更多

For the mitigation of ATWS (anticipated transients without scram) as well as CCF within the PPS (plant protection system) and the ESF-CCS (engineered safety feature-component control system), the ADPS (advanced diverse protection system) has been developed by KEPCO E & C (KEPCO Engineering and Construction) Company for new nuclear units in Korea. As compared to the DPS (diverse protection system) design of APR1400, the ADPS has a diverse safety injection function considering a LBLOCA (large break loss of coolant accident) concurrent with the CCF of the PPS and ESF-CCS. Besides the function of SIAS (safety injection actuation signal) initiation, several CCF avoidance features, such as the changes of software design classification, communication methods, equipment platform, and man-machine interfaces, are introduced to enhance the reliability of the ADPS. In addition, the ADPS has recently incorporated four redundant channels with 2-out-of-4 voting logics to enhance its fault tolerant capability. Therefore, it is expected that the ADPS can provide an enhanced reliability regarding possible CCFs in the safety-grade digital I & C systems as well as the ADPS itself.展开更多

To investigate the frequency-specific regional homogeneity(Re Ho) of spontaneous neural activities in ADHD, the current study used resting-state f MRI to explore the Re Ho properties of five frequency bands, slow-5(0.01–0.027 Hz), slow-4(0.027–0.073 Hz),slow-3(0.073–0.198 Hz), slow-2(0.198–0.25 Hz) and the extra-low frequency(0–0.01 Hz), in 30 drug-naive boys with ADHD and 30 healthy controls. Compared with controls, the ADHD group showed decreased Re Ho in the default mode network(DMN) including the medial prefrontal cortex and precuneus, middle frontal gyrus and angular gyrus. ADHD patients also showed increased Re Ho in the posterior cerebellum. Significant interactions between frequency band and group were observed predominantly in the dorsolateral prefrontal and parietal cortices, orbital frontal cortex, supplementary motor area, inferior occipital gyrus, thalamus and anterior cerebellum. In particular, we found that the between-group difference in the extra-low frequency band(0–0.01 Hz) seemed to be greater than that in the other frequency bands for most brain regions. The findings suggest that ADHD children display widespread abnormalities in regional brain activity, particularly in the DMN and attention network, and these abnormalities show frequency specificity.展开更多

However, the low charge mobility of P3HT is an obstacle to its commercialization. To overcome this problem, we propose a new non-covalent functionalization method for carbon nanotubes (CNTs) for use in CNT/P3HT nanocomposites. By using modified pyrene molecules with hydrophobic long alkyl chains, the non-covalently functionalized CNTs can become well dispersed in hydrophobic solutions and organic semiconductor matrices. Fabrication of organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) from the non-covalently functionalized CNT/organic semiconductor nanocomposites shows that our non-covalent functionalization method significantly reduces damage to CNTs during functionalization when compared with covalent functionalization by treatment with acids. The OTFTs show 15 times enhancement of field effect mobility (1.5 × 10^-2 cm^2/(V.s)) compared to the mobility of OTFTs made from pure P3HT. This enhancement is achieved by addition of only 0.25 wt% of CNTs to P3HT.展开更多
