The effects of current density on the chemical composition, electrocatalytic activity, and stability of the composite anode material were investigated by energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy(EDXS), anode polarization curves, quasi-stationary polarization(Tafel) curves, electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS), scanning electron microscopy(SEM), and X-ray diffraction(XRD). Results reveal that the composite electrode obtained at 1 A/dm2 possesses the lowest overpotential(0.610 V at 500 A/m2) for oxygen evolution, the best electrocatalytic activity, the longest service life(360 h at 40 °C in 150 g/L H2SO4 solution under 2 A/cm2), and the lowest cell voltage(2.75 V at 500 A/m2). Furthermore, with increasing current density, the coating exhibits grain growth and the decrease of content of Mn O2. Only a slight effect on crystalline structure is observed.展开更多

In the 1990s, the same strategy began to be applied to human rights to draw attention to the fact that the enjoyment of human rights is different for men and women, and that some human rights violations specifically affect women. This is a reflection and a result of the patriarchal organization of society and men's position of dominance over women. The European and Inter-American Courts of Human Rights have begun to incorporate gender mainstreaming or a gender perspective in some judgments, especially in cases of violence against women.展开更多

Social media are popular among youth for sharing information. This study tries to explore the popularity of the social media sites, the level of use of the social media sites, the types of information-sharing activiti...Social media are popular among youth for sharing information. This study tries to explore the popularity of the social media sites, the level of use of the social media sites, the types of information-sharing activities involved on the social media sites, to compare youth of various background in relation to information-sharing activities, and to analyze the relationship between the level of social media use and the information-sharing activities among youth. This study employs a quantitative research design, using survey method with questionnaire as the research instrument used for data collection. In this study, youth aged between 17-40 years old nationwide were surveyed. The study was developed based on the user and gratification theory (Blumler & Katz, 1974). Findings showed that youth always (five to seven days per week) use social media to share information including personal information. Results also showed that youth used the social media more for sharing negatively-oriented information compared to the positively-oriented information. Although there were more items on the positively-oriented information-sharing activities but more youth spent their time on the negatively-oriented information-sharing activities. The results are supported by a strong relationship between frequency of use and the negatively-oriented information-sharing activities.展开更多

SnS has elicited attention as a potential eco-friendly therm oelectric (TE) mater...Tin sulfide (SnS) has analogous structural features to tin selenide (SnSe), but contains more abundant resources as compared with SnSe. SnS has elicited attention as a potential eco-friendly therm oelectric (TE) material. However, the intrinsic carrier concentration of SnS is very low, thereby hindering the performance improvement of the material. This study proposes that the TE properties of polycrystalline Nadoped SnS (synthesized through an improved chemical coprecipitation) can be significantly enhanced. The maximum power factor (PF) of 362 μW m^-1K^-2 at 873 K was achieved, presenting a state-of-the-art value for the polycrystalline SnS. Considering the merits of the improved electrical properties and lower thermal conductivity of SnS, the highest ZT was up to 0.52 at 873 K even without intentional chemical doping. This study offers an effective approach for improving the PF to achieve high ZT in SnS. Hence, we expect that this new perspective can be extended to other dopants and broaden the scope of synthesis technology.展开更多
The rational design and construction of novel two-dimensional(2D)carbon nitrides(CNs)beyond g-C_(3)N_(4) is a hot topic in the fields of chemistry and materials.Inspired by the polymerisation of urea,we have prepared ...The rational design and construction of novel two-dimensional(2D)carbon nitrides(CNs)beyond g-C_(3)N_(4) is a hot topic in the fields of chemistry and materials.Inspired by the polymerisation of urea,we have prepared a series of novel C-C bridged heptazine CNs UO_(x)(where x is the ratio of urea to oxamide,x=1,1.5,2,2.5,and 3),which are similar to(C_(6)N_(7))n,upon the introduction of oxamide.As predicted using density functional theory(DFT)calculations,the conjugated structure of UO_(x) was effectively extended from an individual heptazine to the entire material.Consequently,its bandgap was reduced to 2.05 eV,and its absorption band edge was significantly extended to 600 nm.Furthermore,its carrier transfer and separation were significantly enhanced,establishing its superior photocatalytic activity.The optimised UO_(2) exhibits a superior photocatalytic hydrogen production rate about 108.59 lmol h^(-1)(using 10 mg of catalyst)with an apparent quantum efficiency(AQE)of 36.12%and 0.33%at 420 and 600 nm,respectively,which is one of the most active novel CNs reported to date.Moreover,UO_(2) exhibits excellent photocatalytic activity toward the oxidation of diphenylhydrazine to azobenzene with conversion and selectivity reaching~100%,which represents a promising highly efficient 2D CN material.Regarding phenols degradation,UO_(2) also displayed significantly higher activity and durability during the degradation of phenol when compared to traditional g-C_(3)N_(4),highlighting its significant potential for application in energy,environment and photocatalytic organic reactions.展开更多
