Objectively, a complex interactive coercing relationship exists between urbanization and eco-environment, and the research of this relationship is primarily divided into three schools, i.e., interactive coercion theor...Objectively, a complex interactive coercing relationship exists between urbanization and eco-environment, and the research of this relationship is primarily divided into three schools, i.e., interactive coercion theory, interactive promotion theory and coupling symbiosis theory. Harmonizing the relationship between urbanization and eco-environment is not only an important proposition for the national development plan but also the only way to promote healthy urbanization. Based on an analysis of urbanization process and its relationship with the eco-environment, this article analyzes interactive coercing effects between urbanization and eco-environment from three perspectives of population urbanization, economic urbanization and spatial urbanization, respectively, and analyzes risk effects of the interactive coercion. Further, it shows six basic laws followed by interactive coercion between urbanization and eco-environment, namely, coupling fission law, dynamic hierarchy law, stochastic fluctuation law, non-linear synergetic law, threshold value law and forewarning law, and divides the interactive coercing process into five stages, namely, low-level coordinate, antagonistic, break-in, ameliorative and high-grade coordinate. Based on the geometric derivation, the interactive coercing relationship between urbanization and eco-environment is judged to be non-linear and it can be explained by a double-exponential function formed by the combination of power and exponential functions. Then, the evolutionary types of the interactive coercing relationship are divided into nine ones: rudimentary coordinating, ecology-dominated, synchronal coordinating, urbanization lagging, stepwise break-in, exorbitant urbanization, fragile ecology, rudimentary break-in and unsustainable types. Finally, based on an interactive coercion model, the degree of interactive coercion can be examined, and then, an evolutionary cycle can be divided into four phases, namely rudimentary symbiosis, harmonious development, utmost increasing and spiral type rising. The study results offer a scientific decision-making of healthy urbanization for achieving the goal of eco-environment protection and promoting urbanization.展开更多

METHODS: Intracellular distribution of NGF and trkANGF were assessed by immunohistochemistry and immuno- electron microscopy in liver specimens from HCC, cirrhosis or both. ELISA was used to measure circulating NGF levels. RESULTS: NGF and trkANGF were highly expressed in HCC tissue, mainly localized in hepatocytes, endothelial and some Kupffer cells. In the cirrhotic part of the liver they were also markedly expressed in bile ducts epithelial and spindle-shaped cells. Surprisingly, in cirrhotic tissue from patients without HCC, both NGF and trkANGF were negative. NGF serum levels in cirrhotic and/or HCC patient were up to 25-fold higher than in controls. CONCLUSION: NGF was only detected in liver tissue with HCC present. Intracellular distribution suggests paracrine and autocrine mechanisms of action. Better definition of mechanisms may allow for therapeutic and diagnostic/prognostic use of NGF.展开更多

The average size of DNA inserts in the libra...To study the bioactive metabolites produced by sponge-derived uncultured symbionts, a metagenomic DNA library of the symbionts of sponge Gelliodes gracilis was constructed. The average size of DNA inserts in the library was 20 kb. This library was screened for antibiotic activity using paper disc assaying. Two clones displayed the antibacterial activity against Micrococcus tetragenus. The metabolites of these two clones were analyzed through HPLC. The result showed that their metabolites were quite different from those of the host E. coli DNA and the host containing vector pHZ132. This study may present a new approach to exploring bioactive metabolites of sponge symbionts.展开更多

A set of observation-based Vcax values, which take the ni...The maximum rate of carboxylation (Vcax) is a key photosynthetic parameter for gross primary produc- tion (GPP) estimation in terrestrial biosphere models. A set of observation-based Vcax values, which take the ni- trogen limitation on photosynthetic rates into consideration, are used in version 4.5 of the Community Land Model (CLM4.5). However, CLM4.5 with carbon-nitrogen (CN) biogeochemistry (CLM4.5-CN) still uses an inde- pendent decay coefficient for nitrogen after the photosyn- thesis calculation. This means that the nitrogen limitation on the carbon cycle is accounted for twice when CN bio- geochemistry is active. Therefore, to avoid this double nitrogen down-regulation in CLM4.5-CN, the original Vcmax scheme is revised with a new one that only accounts for the transition between Vcmax and its potential value (without nitrogen limitation). Compared to flux tower- based observations, the new Vcmax scheme reduces the root-mean-square error (RMSE) in GPP for China's Mainland by 13.7 g C m-2 yr-1, with a larger decrease over humid areas (39.2 g C m 2 yr-1). Moreover, net primary production and leaf area index are also improved, with reductions in RMSE by 0.8% and 11.5%, respectively.展开更多

Meanwhile, iron-rich product, silicon-rich product and boron-rich product were obtained, respectively. In the process ofmetallizing reduction-magnetic separation, 94.6% of magnesium was enriched in the non-magnetic substance from the ore reducedat 1250 ℃ for 60 min with the ore size of 0.50-2.00 mm and coal size of 0.50-1.50 mm. When the non-magnetic substance wasleached at 90 ℃ for 15 min with the liquid-to-solid ratio of 7:1, 87.4% of magnesium was leached into the liquor separated fromsilicon gathering in leaching residue. The ethanol precipitation was conducted for 30 min with the ethanol-to-original liquid volumeratio of 1.5:1 at room temperature. 97.2% of magnesium was precipitated out with the initial concentration of 0.8 mol/L in the formof MgSO4·7H2O.展开更多
AIM:To establish an appropriate primate model of fulminant hepatic failure (FHF).METHODS:We have,for the first time,established a large animal model of FHF in Macaca mulatta by intraperitoneal infusion of amatoxin and...AIM:To establish an appropriate primate model of fulminant hepatic failure (FHF).METHODS:We have,for the first time,established a large animal model of FHF in Macaca mulatta by intraperitoneal infusion of amatoxin and endotoxin.Clinical features,biochemical indexes,histopathology and iconography were examined to dynamically investigate the progress and outcome of the animal model.RESULTS:Our results showed that the enzymes and serum bilirubin were markedly increased and the enzyme-bilirubin segregation emerged 36 h after toxin administration.Coagulation activity was significantly decreased.Gradually deteriorated parenchymal abnormality was detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasonography at 48 h.The liver biopsy showed marked hepatocyte steatosis and massive parenchymal necrosis at 36 h and 49 h,respectively.The autopsy showed typical yellow atrophy of the liver.Hepatic encephalopathy of the models was also confirmed by hepatic coma,MRI and pathological changes of cerebral edema.The lethal effects of the extrahepatic organ dysfunction were ruled out by their biochemical indices,imaging and histopathology.CONCLUSION:We have established an appropriate large primate model of FHF,which is closely similar to clinic cases,and can be used for investigation of the mechanism of FHF and for evaluation of potential medical therapies.展开更多

The quantity of off-specification product and the time of grade transition can be minimized by the...A model of grade transition is presented for a commercialized fluidized bed gas-phase polyethylene production process. The quantity of off-specification product and the time of grade transition can be minimized by the optimization of operating variables, such as polymerization temperature, the ratio of hydrogen to ethylene, the ratio of co-monomer to ethylene, feed rate of catalyst, and bed level. A new performance index, the ratio of melt flow (MFR), is included in the objective function, for restraining the sharp adjustment of operation variables and narrowing the distribution of molecular weight of the resin. It is recommended that catalyst feed rate and bed level are decreased in order to reduce the grade transition time and the quantity of off-specification product. This optimization problem is solved by an algorithm of sequential quadratic programming (SQP) in MATLAB. There is considerable difference between the forward transition and reverse transition of grade with regard to the operating variables due to the non-linearity of the system. The grade transition model is extended to a high space time yield (STY) process with the so-called condensed model operation. In the end, an optimization strategy for multi-product transition is proposed with two-level optimization of the objective function J(x,u) on the basis of the optimal grade transition model. A sequential transition of six commercial polyethylene grades is illustrated for an optimal multi-product operation.展开更多
Reliable production of biofuels and specifically bioethanol has attracted a significant amount of re-search recently.Within this context,this study deals with dynamic simulation of bioethanol production processes and ...Reliable production of biofuels and specifically bioethanol has attracted a significant amount of re-search recently.Within this context,this study deals with dynamic simulation of bioethanol production processes and in particular aims at developing a mathematical model for describing simultaneous saccharification and co-fermentation (SSCF) of C6 and C5 sugars.The model is constructed by combining existing mathematical mod-els for enzymatic hydrolysis and co-fermentation.An inhibition of ethanol on cellulose conversion is introduced in order to increase the reliability.The mathematical model for the SSCF is verified by comparing the model predic-tions with experimental data obtained from the ethanol production based on kraft paper mill sludge.When fitting the model to the data,only the yield coefficients for glucose and xylose metabolism were fine-tuned,which were found to be 0.43 g·g-1 (ethanol/glucose) and 0.35 g·g-1 (ethanol/xylose) respectively.These promising validation results encourage further model application to evaluate different process configurations for lignocellulosic bioetha-nol technology.展开更多
The carboxyl terminal of sodium oleate has a stronger polarity than that of oleic acid;this terminal is more likely to be dipole polarized and ionically conductive in a microwave field.Sodium oleate was used as the mo...The carboxyl terminal of sodium oleate has a stronger polarity than that of oleic acid;this terminal is more likely to be dipole polarized and ionically conductive in a microwave field.Sodium oleate was used as the model compound to study the decarboxylation of oleic acid leading to hydrocarbon formation via microwave-assisted pyrolysis technology.The pyrolysis gas,liquid,and solid products were precisely analyzed to deduce the mechanism for decarboxylation of sodium oleate.Microwave energy was able to selectively heat the carboxyl terminal of sodium oleate.During decarboxylation,the double bond in the long hydrocarbon chain formed a p-πconjugated system with the carbanion intermediate.The resulting p-πconjugated system was more stable and beneficial to the pyrolysis reaction(decarboxylation,terminal allylation,isomerization,and aromatization).The physical properties of pyrolysis liquid were generally similar to those of diesel fuel,thereby demonstrating the possible use of microwaves for controlling the decarboxylation of sodium oleate in order to manufacture renewable hydrocarbon fuels.展开更多
Sulfhydryl magnetic biological bamboo charcoal nanocomposite(BBC@nFe-SH)was prepared by chemical co-precipitation method for the robust capture of As(Ⅲ)from aqueous solutions.The novel BBC@nFe-SH shows favorable magn...Sulfhydryl magnetic biological bamboo charcoal nanocomposite(BBC@nFe-SH)was prepared by chemical co-precipitation method for the robust capture of As(Ⅲ)from aqueous solutions.The novel BBC@nFe-SH shows favorable magnetic field strength(83376 A/m),which enables BBC@nFe-SH to be quickly recovered from aqueous solution.The maximum As(Ⅲ)adsorption capacity is as high as 98.63 mg/g at pH 5.0 and 40°C,reaching reaction equilibrium within 120 min.Various characterizations(e.g.,SEM,FTIR,VSM and XPS)suggest that As(Ⅲ)prefers to coordinate with surface oxygen groups bonded to the surface.BBC@nFe-SH displayed high stability and recyclability throughout the removal process,which could be easily activated by 1 mol/L NaOH after usage.Thus,the novel BBC@nFe-SH has promising applications for As(Ⅲ)treatment.展开更多
During spring 2013, an important uprising had broken out and marked a historic period for political activism in Turkish memory. Focusing on the afterlives of photographic portraits produced during this “Occupy Gezi M...During spring 2013, an important uprising had broken out and marked a historic period for political activism in Turkish memory. Focusing on the afterlives of photographic portraits produced during this “Occupy Gezi Movement”, the paper considers iconized digital portraitures as a peculiar genre of vernacular photography and focuses on its visual language, and cultural codes as a part of the underground resisting culture in daily life. It explores different contexts in which photographic portraits have been used as a tool of protest and their various kinds of remediation from the Gezi Park Protest onwards. Private portraits as an agent of resistance have been creatively modified, recreated, rematerialized and circulated in distinct ways during and after the protest: from city walls as stencils, stickers, and graffiti (in actual public spaces) to Facebook profile walls as online digital re-mastering (virtual spheres). This article concentrates on aesthetics of such iconized digital photographic portraitures in contemporary Turkey. It particularly focuses on one of the instances that have labeled the Occupy Gezi Movement: the death of Berkin Elvan, who turned 15 while in a coma who has been struck in the head by a tear gas canister, fired by police, while on his way to buy bread. This case has been a catalyst for further demonstrations against Turkey's ruling party and turned Elvan's high-spirited face and dark eyebrows, to one of the strong symbols of the resistance. The teenage boy's injury during the protests, his birthday while he was in a coma at the hospital, his death, funeral and commemorations have been stress points in which his photographic portrait have been modified and redesigned according to the occasion and circulated widely. The image of the youth symbol of the struggle and the different kinds of cultural work his photograph have performed is the main focus of this research. The digital social afterlives of Elvan's iconized imagery as illustrations and drawings; as stencils and graffiti at streets; as posters and framed photographs in political performances carried around in public spaces and commemorative acts; and as digital data circulated in social media both consisting of indexical and iconic dements regarding their photographic features. This transformation of the single analog vernacular photograph of Elvan to various digital versions and continuous re-interpretation and re-materialization is discussed depending on the local history of the occasion and the critical literature on photographic history and theories of photographic vernacularity. This research makes use of data collecting methods that netnographic research methodology uses. The paper focuses on the ways local vernacularity is historically produced and evolved in this particular time of Gezi Park Resistance.展开更多

Phytochemical investigation of different extracts prepared from the aerial part of P. aucheri Boiss. resulted to the isolation of two main flavonol glycosides from methanolic extract. Using comprehensive spectroscopic methods, including 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy, chemical structure of isolated compounds were determined as kaempfrol-3-o-rutinoside (nicotiflorin) and isorhamnetin-3-o-rutinoside (narcissin). Although narcissin has previously been isolated from P. ruthenicum, to the best of our knowledge, isolation of nicotiflorin from Peucedanum genus is reported for the first time.展开更多

When the non-magnetic substance wasleached at 90 ℃ for 15 min with the liquid-to-solid ratio of 7:1, 87.4% of magnesium was leached into the liquor separated fromsilicon gathering in leaching residue. The ethanol precipitation was conducted for 30 min with the ethanol-to-original liquid volumeratio of 1.5:1 at room temperature. 97.2% of magnesium was precipitated out with the initial concentration of 0.8 mol/L in the formof MgSO4·7H2O.

文摘AIM:To establish an appropriate primate model of fulminant hepatic failure (FHF).METHODS:We have,for the first time,established a large animal model of FHF in Macaca mulatta by intraperitoneal infusion of amatoxin and endotoxin.Clinical features,biochemical indexes,histopathology and iconography were examined to dynamically investigate the progress and outcome of the animal model.RESULTS:Our results showed that the enzymes and serum bilirubin were markedly increased and the enzyme-bilirubin segregation emerged 36 h after toxin administration.Coagulation activity was significantly decreased.Gradually deteriorated parenchymal abnormality was detected by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and ultrasonography at 48 h.The liver biopsy showed marked hepatocyte steatosis and massive parenchymal necrosis at 36 h and 49 h,respectively.The autopsy showed typical yellow atrophy of the liver.Hepatic encephalopathy of the models was also confirmed by hepatic coma,MRI and pathological changes of cerebral edema.The lethal effects of the extrahepatic organ dysfunction were ruled out by their biochemical indices,imaging and histopathology.CONCLUSION:We have established an appropriate large primate model of FHF,which is closely similar to clinic cases,and can be used for investigation of the mechanism of FHF and for evaluation of potential medical therapies.
文摘A model of grade transition is presented for a commercialized fluidized bed gas-phase polyethylene production process. The quantity of off-specification product and the time of grade transition can be minimized by the optimization of operating variables, such as polymerization temperature, the ratio of hydrogen to ethylene, the ratio of co-monomer to ethylene, feed rate of catalyst, and bed level. A new performance index, the ratio of melt flow (MFR), is included in the objective function, for restraining the sharp adjustment of operation variables and narrowing the distribution of molecular weight of the resin. It is recommended that catalyst feed rate and bed level are decreased in order to reduce the grade transition time and the quantity of off-specification product. This optimization problem is solved by an algorithm of sequential quadratic programming (SQP) in MATLAB. There is considerable difference between the forward transition and reverse transition of grade with regard to the operating variables due to the non-linearity of the system. The grade transition model is extended to a high space time yield (STY) process with the so-called condensed model operation. In the end, an optimization strategy for multi-product transition is proposed with two-level optimization of the objective function J(x,u) on the basis of the optimal grade transition model. A sequential transition of six commercial polyethylene grades is illustrated for an optimal multi-product operation.

文摘Reliable production of biofuels and specifically bioethanol has attracted a significant amount of re-search recently.Within this context,this study deals with dynamic simulation of bioethanol production processes and in particular aims at developing a mathematical model for describing simultaneous saccharification and co-fermentation (SSCF) of C6 and C5 sugars.The model is constructed by combining existing mathematical mod-els for enzymatic hydrolysis and co-fermentation.An inhibition of ethanol on cellulose conversion is introduced in order to increase the reliability.The mathematical model for the SSCF is verified by comparing the model predic-tions with experimental data obtained from the ethanol production based on kraft paper mill sludge.When fitting the model to the data,only the yield coefficients for glucose and xylose metabolism were fine-tuned,which were found to be 0.43 g·g-1 (ethanol/glucose) and 0.35 g·g-1 (ethanol/xylose) respectively.These promising validation results encourage further model application to evaluate different process configurations for lignocellulosic bioetha-nol technology.

文摘The carboxyl terminal of sodium oleate has a stronger polarity than that of oleic acid;this terminal is more likely to be dipole polarized and ionically conductive in a microwave field.Sodium oleate was used as the model compound to study the decarboxylation of oleic acid leading to hydrocarbon formation via microwave-assisted pyrolysis technology.The pyrolysis gas,liquid,and solid products were precisely analyzed to deduce the mechanism for decarboxylation of sodium oleate.Microwave energy was able to selectively heat the carboxyl terminal of sodium oleate.During decarboxylation,the double bond in the long hydrocarbon chain formed a p-πconjugated system with the carbanion intermediate.The resulting p-πconjugated system was more stable and beneficial to the pyrolysis reaction(decarboxylation,terminal allylation,isomerization,and aromatization).The physical properties of pyrolysis liquid were generally similar to those of diesel fuel,thereby demonstrating the possible use of microwaves for controlling the decarboxylation of sodium oleate in order to manufacture renewable hydrocarbon fuels.

文摘Sulfhydryl magnetic biological bamboo charcoal nanocomposite(BBC@nFe-SH)was prepared by chemical co-precipitation method for the robust capture of As(Ⅲ)from aqueous solutions.The novel BBC@nFe-SH shows favorable magnetic field strength(83376 A/m),which enables BBC@nFe-SH to be quickly recovered from aqueous solution.The maximum As(Ⅲ)adsorption capacity is as high as 98.63 mg/g at pH 5.0 and 40°C,reaching reaction equilibrium within 120 min.Various characterizations(e.g.,SEM,FTIR,VSM and XPS)suggest that As(Ⅲ)prefers to coordinate with surface oxygen groups bonded to the surface.BBC@nFe-SH displayed high stability and recyclability throughout the removal process,which could be easily activated by 1 mol/L NaOH after usage.Thus,the novel BBC@nFe-SH has promising applications for As(Ⅲ)treatment.
文摘During spring 2013, an important uprising had broken out and marked a historic period for political activism in Turkish memory. Focusing on the afterlives of photographic portraits produced during this “Occupy Gezi Movement”, the paper considers iconized digital portraitures as a peculiar genre of vernacular photography and focuses on its visual language, and cultural codes as a part of the underground resisting culture in daily life. It explores different contexts in which photographic portraits have been used as a tool of protest and their various kinds of remediation from the Gezi Park Protest onwards. Private portraits as an agent of resistance have been creatively modified, recreated, rematerialized and circulated in distinct ways during and after the protest: from city walls as stencils, stickers, and graffiti (in actual public spaces) to Facebook profile walls as online digital re-mastering (virtual spheres). This article concentrates on aesthetics of such iconized digital photographic portraitures in contemporary Turkey. It particularly focuses on one of the instances that have labeled the Occupy Gezi Movement: the death of Berkin Elvan, who turned 15 while in a coma who has been struck in the head by a tear gas canister, fired by police, while on his way to buy bread. This case has been a catalyst for further demonstrations against Turkey's ruling party and turned Elvan's high-spirited face and dark eyebrows, to one of the strong symbols of the resistance. The teenage boy's injury during the protests, his birthday while he was in a coma at the hospital, his death, funeral and commemorations have been stress points in which his photographic portrait have been modified and redesigned according to the occasion and circulated widely. The image of the youth symbol of the struggle and the different kinds of cultural work his photograph have performed is the main focus of this research. The digital social afterlives of Elvan's iconized imagery as illustrations and drawings; as stencils and graffiti at streets; as posters and framed photographs in political performances carried around in public spaces and commemorative acts; and as digital data circulated in social media both consisting of indexical and iconic dements regarding their photographic features. This transformation of the single analog vernacular photograph of Elvan to various digital versions and continuous re-interpretation and re-materialization is discussed depending on the local history of the occasion and the critical literature on photographic history and theories of photographic vernacularity. This research makes use of data collecting methods that netnographic research methodology uses. The paper focuses on the ways local vernacularity is historically produced and evolved in this particular time of Gezi Park Resistance.
文摘Peucedanum aucheri Boiss. (Apiaceae) is a herbaceous wild plant native to Iran and is used in Iranian folk medicine as a diuretic and for the treatment of kidney disorders. Phytochemical investigation of different extracts prepared from the aerial part of P. aucheri Boiss. resulted to the isolation of two main flavonol glycosides from methanolic extract. Using comprehensive spectroscopic methods, including 1D and 2D nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy, chemical structure of isolated compounds were determined as kaempfrol-3-o-rutinoside (nicotiflorin) and isorhamnetin-3-o-rutinoside (narcissin). Although narcissin has previously been isolated from P. ruthenicum, to the best of our knowledge, isolation of nicotiflorin from Peucedanum genus is reported for the first time.
文摘The human gut is the normal habitat of a lot of microorganisms; in the long process of evolution they have developed a symbiotic relationship with the host. Under normal circumstances they do not damage the health, which totally owes to the barrier functions of the integral intestinal mucosa. Intestinal lnucosal barriers are mainly composed of four parts: mechanical barrier, immune barrier, chemical and biological barrier. Each of these functions has corresponding structural basis, an important barrier to prevent harmful substances and pathogens in the gut into the inner environment of the body, and to maintain a stable internal environment.
