Personality factors could predict relationship satisfaction through the influence of individuals' relationship schemas (Fiske and Taylor 1991) and perceptions of their partners (Simpson and Rholes 1998). Given the potential importance of attachment styles to relationship mechanisms and the well-established relationship between attachment and interpersonal behavior (Bartholomew and Horowitz 1992; Hazan and Shaver 1987), interpersonal traits may influence relationship satisfaction directly. According to Leary's (1957) interpersonal reflex theory, any interpersonal act elicits responses from the other person that verify, validate, or otherwise reinforce the actor's own self-image and self-presentation, and thus increase the probability that the actor will emit similar interpersonal acts in future interactions. The Impact Message Inventory (IMI) attempts to measure individuals' perceptions of how others impact them by evoking interpersonal acts such as dominance and affiliation. This study examined the influence of perceived partner-evoked behavior and individuals' own interpersonal styles on relationship satisfaction. This study used IMI measures of evoked Dominance and Affiliation as well as revised Liking and Loving measures to predict relationship satisfaction using three different satisfaction outcome measures. The final analyses included 291 participants (134 men and 157 women) who completed a scantron survey. Partner impact, or the interpersonal behaviors, evoked from the individual during interaction, predicted relationship satisfaction well. Evoked affiliation was the most consistently strong predictor of satisfaction across all three outcome measures. Liking (distinct here from affiliation) is a stronger predictor of relationship satisfaction than is loving (distinct here from passion), and it is significant across all three outcome measures. The liking measure appears to reflect a relatively high level of reward in the relationship and intrinsic enjoyment of the partner's company without the comparative cost of loving. Future research should examine interactions between couples, moving beyond intrapsychic self-reports of perceived experiences and feelings, although these are important in their own right.展开更多

The m RNA expression of C/EBPβ,peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor(PPAR)γ and PPARγ target genes(G0 S2,GPR81,GPR109 A and Adipoq) was examined by q PCR. The protein expression of C/EBPβ,PPARγ,and G0 S2 was determined by Western blotting. Lipid accumulation was detected with Oil Red O staining and quantified by absorbance value of the extracted Oil Red O dye. Lipolysis was evaluated by measuring the amount of glycerol released into the medium. RESULTS Palmitate caused a dose-dependent increase in lipid accumulation and a dose-dependent decrease in lipolysis in Hep G2 cells. In addition, palmitate increased the m RNA expression of C/EBPβ,PPARγ,and PPARγ target genes(G0 S2,GPR81,GPR109 A,and Adipoq) and the protein expression of C/EBPβ,PPARγ,and G0 S2 in a dose-dependent manner. Knockdown of C/EBPβ decreased palmitate-induced PPARγ and its target genes(G0 S2,GPR81,GPR109 A,and Adipoq) m RNA expression and palmitate-induced PPARγ and G0 S2 protein expression in Hep G2 cells. Knockdown of C/EBPβ also attenuated lipid accumulation and augmented lipolysis in palmitate-treated Hep G2 cells. G0 S2 knockdown attenuated lipid accumulation and augmented lipolysis, while G0 S2 knockdown had no effects on the m RNA expression of C/EBPβ,PPARγ,and PPARγ target genes(GPR81,GPR109 A and Adipoq) in palmitate-treated Hep G2 cells. CONCLUSION Palmitate can induce lipid accumulation in Hep G2 cells by activating C/EBPβ-mediated G0 S2 expression.展开更多

The experiment was conducted in the laboratory using a flow-through-sea-water system. The fish were subjected to four different temperatures (22, 26, 30, and 34 ℃) and two diets (commercial pellet and natural shrimp). Fish were fed twice daily. L. malabancus exhibited negative allometric growth (b〈3) at the beginning of the experiment (Day 0) at all temperatures and both diets except for 22 ℃ fed with shrimp, which showed isometric growth (b=3). Conversely, at the end of the experiment (Day 30) fish showed isometric growth (b=3) at 30 ℃ fed with the pellet diet, indicating that the shape of the fish did not change with increasing weight and length, and a positive allometric growth (b〉3) at 30 ℃ fed with shrimp diet, which indicated that fish weight increases faster than their length. The rest of the temperatures represented negative allometric growth (b〈3) on both diet, meaning that fish became lighter with increasing size. The condition factors in the initial and final measurements were greater than 1, indicating the state of health of the fish, except for those fed on a pellet diet at 34 ℃. However, the best condition was obtained at 30 ℃ on both diets. Nev- ertheless, diets did not have a significant effect on growth and condition of juvenile L. malabaricus. The data obtained from this study suggested culturing L. malabaricus at 30 ℃ and feeding on the pellet or shrimp diet, which will optimize the overall production and condition of this commercially important fish species.展开更多
