Some methods of validating model are compared and analyzed. Several typical methods, such as TIC’s inequality coefficient, gray interconnected analysis, direct spectrum estimation, maximum entropy spectral estimation based on Burg or Marple, are chosen and programmed in C language. Some examples by using the program are given. The results show that the program is available and it is best to adopt multi methods for validating models.展开更多

It is observed that the model is too restrictive in its explaining events and behavior in social and political situations. It is suggested that the assumptions of RM model should be relaxed using the familiar methods and techniques of elementary formal logic. The concept of relevance is then introduced to take account of a "weaker" formal requirement in an attempt to explain events and processes in human action and/or behavior. The concept of "justification by reasons" is then introduced as a necessary though not sufficient requirement of explaining events and processes in social and political studies展开更多

The new molecular parameters for 25 ILs are obtained by fitting the experimental density data over a wide temperature and pressure range, and the overall aver-age deviation is 0.22%. The model parameter b for homologous ILs shows a good linear relationship with their mo-lecular mass, so the number of model parameters is reduced effectively. Using one temperature-independent binary adjustable parameter kij, satisfactory correlations of vapor-liquid equilibria (VLE) for binary mixtures of ILs + non-associating solvents and + associating solvents are obtained with the overall average deviation of vapor pressure 2.91% and 7.01%, respectively. In addition, VLE results for ILs + non-associating mixtures from CPA, lattice-fluid (LF) and square-well chain fluids with variable range (SWCF-VR) EoSs are compared.展开更多

The solubilities of NQ in water, dimethyl sulfoxide, N, N dimethylformamide, 1,4 butyrolaetone and dimethyl sulfoxide @ water, N, N dimethylformamide + water were measured by dynamic laser monitoring within a temperature range from 298. 15 K to 338. 15 K. The experimental data were correlated by modified Apelblat equation, 2h equation, CNIBS/R K model, andJouyban-Acree model. The results show that the four thermodynamic models can all be used to predict solubility with high accuracy. Accrding to the Akaike's information criterion (AIC), the better models for correlating the solubility of NQ are judged. Additionally, the dissolution enthalpy, entropy and Gibbs free energy were calculated by the van't Hoff equation.展开更多

Based on the grey system theory, we analyzed 4 factors influential in the thermal stability by the grey relationship analysis, a quantitative method, and derived the grey relationship sequence, that is, the rank of the influence extent of 4 factors on the thermal stability. Furthermore, we established the grey forecasting model, namely GM(1,5), for predicting the thermal stability of single diamonds with their intrinsic properties, which was then examined by a deviation-probability examination. The results illustrate that it is reasonable to take the Extrapolated Onset Temperature in DTA as the characteristic temperature for thermal stability (TS) of Ib-type synthetic single diamonds. The nitrogen content and grain shape regularity of diamonds are dominating factors. Likewise, grain size and compressive strength are minor factors. In addition, GM(1,5) can be used to predict the thermal stability of Ib-type synthetic single diamonds available. The precision rank of GM(1,5) is ‘GOOD’.展开更多
