CYCLONE simulation model takes charge of simulating stochastic duration of activity and efficiency of resources, while CPM model performs project scheduling. This combination avoids the shortcomings of both models. Furthermore, geographic information system (GIS) technique is utilized to visualize the construction processes which are otherwise difficult to be understood by static results described. Application in practical project verifies the feasibility and advantage of the technique.展开更多

In this paper, Herrera-Martfnez's 2-Tuple linguistic representation model is extended for reasoning with uncertain and qualitative information in Dezert-Smarandache Theory (DSmT) framework, in order to overcome the limitations of current approaches, i.e., the lack of precision in the final results of linguistic information fusion according to 1-Tuple representation ( q1 )- The linguistic information which expresses the expert's qualitative beliefs is expressed by means of mixed 2 Tuples (equidistant linguistic labels with a numeric biased value). Together with the 2-Tuple representation model, some basic operators are presented to carry out the fusion operation among qualitative information sources. At last, through simple example how 2-Tuple qualitative DSmT-based (q2 DSmT) fusion rules can be used for qualitative reasoning and fusion under uncertainty, which advantage is also showed by comparing with other methods.展开更多

Methods: Immunohistochemical technique was used to detect the cyclinD1/bcl-1 and p27/kip1 expression in 48 human brain glioma tissues of different malignant grades, and 12 normal non-neoplastic tissues collected from internal decompression. The data were analyzed quantitatively by the image system and also correlated retrospectively with the patients' clinical characteristics. Results: The immunohistochemical reaction for cyclinD1/bcl-1 and p27/kip1 was confined to the nuclei. The abnormal positive expression rates of both cyclinD1/bcl-1 and p27/kip1 in gliomas were found higher than that in non-neoplastic tissues(P<0.05). The number and staining intensity of cyclinD1/bcl-1 positive nuclei increased with malignant grades (P<0.05). On the contrary, the positive nuclei of p27/kip1 expression decreased in number and staining intensity with malignant grades(P<0.05). Higher expression of cyclinD1/bcl-1 or/and lower expression of p27/kip1 were associated with poor prognosis(P<0.05). Conclusion: The abnormal expression of both cyclinD1/bcl-1 and p27/kip1 might be closely related to the occurrence and development of gliomas and they might have synergistic effect. These data suggest that both cyclinD1/bcl-1 expression and p27/kip1 expression can act as an independent prognostic factor.展开更多

To learn more about RegIV, we evaluated its distribution by immunohistochemistry (IHC) in a total of 360 samples including 24 types of normal tissue, 40 benign and malignant lesions, and 18 neuroendocrine tumors. We found that in normal tissues, in addition to its relative specificity for the gastrointestinal tract, RegIV was detected in the adrenal gland and mammary gland. Among all the malignancies of various histological types under evaluation, RegIV was found mostly in adenocarcinomas. Studies on additional sets of colorectal tumor samples showed that RegIV expression was predominant in colorectal adenoma (87.5%) and peritumoral tissue (100%) but not in cancer tissue (30.8%). Among neuroendocrine tumors, ReglV had a relatively restricted expression to those of digestive system.展开更多

Although most of the early nanopore-based sequencers adopted biological nanopores, solid-state nanopores have been gradually growing in popularity due to their increased robustness and durability, control over pore geometry and surface properties, as well as compatibility with the existing semiconductor and microfiuidics fabrication techniques. Besides acting as a platform for biomolecular analysis, solid-state nanopores also have great potential in many other fields such as near-field optics, nanostencil lithography and ionic logic circuitry, due to the possibility of parallel massive production. Therefore, many approaches for the fabrication of solid-state nanopores have been developed. This paper reviews the typical solid-state nanopore fabrication techniques reported to date and compares their advantages and disadvantages. The specific applications of each kind of solid-state nanopores are also summarized based on the carefully analysis of their unique morphologies and properties such as the feature size, inner structure and possibility of massive production.展开更多
