After reaching different initial strengths, the specimens were placed in 40, 60, or 80 t water tanks foraccelerated curing. The Coulomb values of the specimens weemeasured with ASTM C1202 experiment at 28, 100, 200, ad300 d. Partial specimens were also selected for rapid chlorideion migration coefficient and mercury intrusion porosimetryexperiments. The experimental results show that theaccelerated curing for ordinary concrete linealy deterioratesthe chloride penetration resistance, whereas the incorporationof mineral admixtures improves the concrete microscopic pore-structures and negative effects. An upper temperature limit of60 t of the accelerated curing is suitable for obtainingsuperior chloride penetration resistance for the mineraladmixture concrete. Pre-curing at a normal temperature of 20t is beneficial for improving the negative effect, which isalso aieviated with increasing testing age as a result of thesuccessive hydration of binder materials in concrete. 展开更多

In view of the mechanics characteristic of cemented tailings backfill(CTB)at early age,the separation Hopkinson pressure bar test device was used to explore the effects of curing age and impact energy.A total of 48 CTB samples with diameter of 50 mm and length of 25 mm were prepared with curing ages of 3,5,7 and 9 d.Impact tests under different impact energy(10,20,30 and 40 J)were carried out.The microstructure of CTB at different ages was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM).The results show that,the curing age mainly affects the mechanical properties and internal structure of early-age CTB.With increasing curing age,the mechanical properties of early-age CTB change from viscoelasticity to brittleness.The impact energy mainly affects the response of dynamic peak compressive strength to strain rate.Under low strain rate,the structure of CTB is broken,but still has bearing capacity,affecting the formation of later strength.It is concluded that the structural loses completely under the action of high strain rate.Therefore,the control of impact energy and the protection of curing age should be fully considered in actual production process. 展开更多

Jellyfish fishing is a special type of fishery that mainly exists in some countries of East and Southeast Asia. China has the largest jellyfish fishery yield in the world with an annual harvest of around 300 thousand tons. Liaodong Bay is the most important jellyfish fishery ground in China. However, due to the high benefits of jellyfish fishery, which leads to illegal and out-of-season jellyfish fishing occurring each year in Liaodong Bay. Illegal jellyfish fishery in Liaodong Bay is a typical example of the tragedy of the commons. The key problem is that fishermen seek to an illegally initiate jellyfish fishing as early as possible. In this paper, basing on the data of edible jellyfish's biology and ecology, we mainly analyzed the history of jellyfish fishery in China, especially in Liaodong bay, and then we calculated the carry capacity of edible jellyfish in Liaodong Bay which is about 300 thousand tons one year. This number is equal to the recent annual yield of edible jellyfish in China. Furthermore, basing on the carry capacity and reasonable quotas price analysis, we set up a Jellyfish fishing quotas and deficit quotas buyback system which could be a suitable and effective solution for jellyfish fishery management and development in Liaodong Bay at the underlying roots. Although China is the first country with edible jellyfish aquaculture, the annual yield of jellyfish aquaculture is only one fifth of jellyfish fishing. So, there is a very bright developing prospect about edible jellyfish aquaculture in China. 展开更多

Influence of subsequent curing on water sorptivity and pore structure of steam-cured concrete 被引量:5

Steam-cured condition is found to cause larger porosity and worse properties of concrete compared with normal curing condition. For the sake of seeking effective measurements to eliminate this bad effect of steam-cured condition on concrete, the water sorptivity and pore structure of steam-cured concretes exposed to different subsequent curing conditions were investigated after steam-curing treatment. The capillary absorption coefficient and porosity of the corresponding concretes were analyzed, and their mechanisms were also discussed. The results indicate that water sorptivity and pore structure of steam-cured concrete are greatly influenced by the curing condition used in subsequent ages. Exposure steam-cured concrete to air condition has an obviously bad effect on its properties and microstructures. Adopting subsequent curing of immersing steam-cured concrete into about 20℃ water after steam curing period can significantly decrease its capillary absorption coefficient and porosity. Steam-cured concrete with 7 d water curing has minimum capillary absorption coefficient and total porosity. Its water sorptivity is decreased by 23% compared with standard curing concrete and the porosity is 9.6% lower. Moreover, the corresponding gradient of water sorptivity and porosity of steam-cured concrete both decrease, thus mictostructure of concrete becomes more homogeneous. 展开更多

De-eutrophication of effluent wastewater from fish aquaculture by using marine green alga Ulva pertusa 被引量:8

The de-eutrophication abilities and characteristics of Ulva pertusa, a marine green alga, were investigated in Qingdao Yihai Hatchery Center from spring to summer in 2005 by analyzing the dynamic changes in NH4-, NO3-, NO2- as well as the total dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN). The results show that the effluent wastewater produced by fish aquaculture had typical eutrophication levels with an average of 34.3 ~mol L-1 DIN. This level far exceeded the level IV quality of the national seawater standard and could easily lead to phytoplankton blooms in nature if discarded with no treatment. The de-eutrophication abilities of U. pertusa varied greatly and depended mainly on the original eutrophic level the U. pertusa material was derived from. U. pertusa used to living in low DIN conditions had poor DIN removal abilities, while materials cultured in DIN-enriched seawater showed strong de-eutrophication abilities. In other words, the de-eutrophication ability of U. pertusa was evidently induced by high DIN levels. The de-eutrophication capacity of U. pertusa seemed to also be light dependent, because it was weaker in darkness than under illumination. However, no further improvement in the de-eutrophication capacity of U. pertusa was observed once the light intensity exceeded 300 pmolM2 S1. Results of semi-continuous wastewater replacement experiments showed that U. pertusa permanently absorbed nutrients from eutrophicated wastewater at a mean rate of 299 mg/kg fresh weight per day (126 mg/kg DIN during the night, 173 mg/kg in daytime). Based on the above results, engineered de-eutrophication of wastewater by using a U. pertusa filter system seems feasible. The algal quantity required to purify all the eutrophicated outflow wastewater from the Qingdao Yihai Hatchery Center into oligotrophic level I dean seawater was also estimated using the daily discharged wastewater, the average DIN concentration released and the de-eutrophication capacity of U. pertusa. 展开更多

This study aims: (1) to describe the students' perception of the use of Interact as teaching media in learning reading comprehension; (2) to depict the students' perception of the importance oflnternet to access information; and (3) to explain the students' frequency to access Internet. This study uses the descriptive method to reveal the research problems. A questionnaire is used to collect the data. It consists of 20 questions with five options to reveal the students' perception of the use of Internet. The questionnaire is distributed to 120 students who took reading subject at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. The study shows that (1) The students' perception toward the use of Internet to improve Reading Comprehension subject is positive; (2) According to the students, the use of Internet to access reading materials is very important; and (3) The students frequently access Internet to find the reading materials. 展开更多

Balanced diet that meets healthy safety standards and requirements will satisfy the needs of an organism for vitamins and minerals and special attention should be given to intake of folic acid, vitamin B12 and minerals zinc and selenium. The stem-cell properties of th... AIM: To identify cancer stern cells (CSCs) in human gallbladder carcinomas (GBCs). METHODS: Primary GBC cells were cultured under serum-free conditions to produce floating spheres. The stem-cell properties of the sphere-forming cells, including self-renewal, differentiation potential, chemoresistance and tumorigenicity, were determined in vitro or in vivo. Cell surface expression of CD133 was investigated in primary tumors and in spheroid cells using flow cytometry. The sphere-colony-formation ability and tumorigenicity of CD133+ cells were assayed.floating spheroids were generated from primary GBC cells, and these sphere-forming cells could generate new progeny spheroids in serum-free media. Spheroid cells were differentiated under serum-containing conditions with downregulation of the stem cell markers Oct-4, Nanog, and nestin (P 〈 0.05). The differentiated cells showed lower spheroid-colony-formation ability than the original spheroid cells (P 〈 0.05). Spheroid ceils were more resistant to chemotherapeutic reagents than the congenetic adherent cells (P 〈 0.05). Flow cytometry showed enriched CD133+ population in sphereforming cells (P 〈 0.05). CD133+ cells possessed high colony-formation ability than the CD133 population (P 〈 0.01). CD133+ cells injected into nude mice revealed higher tumorigenicity than their antigen-negative counterparts (P 〈 0.05). CONCLUSION: CD133 may be a cell surface marker for CSCs in GBC. 展开更多
