Study on Composition of Culture Medium for Indoor Ecological Lawn

The compositions of soilless culture media for indoor lawns were studied through the determination of quality indexes （grass height, clipping weight, leaf width, density, lawn color and uniformity） of Festuca rubra L. and Perennial Lolzum perenne L lawns. The results showed that composition 4 （black turf 1.2 L＋vermiculite 0.3 L＋ceramsite 0 L） is not suitable for the cultivation of indoor lawns. Composition 1 （black turf 0.3 L＋vermiculite 0.75 L＋ceramsite 0.45 L） and composition 2 （black turf 0.6 L＋vermiculite 0.6 L＋ceramsite 0.3 L） are suitable for indoor cultivation of F. rubra; and Perennial L. perenne turned yellow in all the tested media, and therefore, the media tested in this study are not suitable for indoor cultivation of Perennial L. perenne.

Isolation and Screening of Black Spot-Resistant Endophytic Fungi Strains from Rosa chinensis

[Objective] This study aimed to isolate and screen black-spot-resistant en- dophytic fungi strains. [Method] Various species of healthy Rosa chinensis were col- lected from Xi＇an, Xianyang, Baoji and Weinan City in Shaanxi Province. Endophytic fungi was isolated from stems and leaves, and purified by 2-3 times of inoculation to screen endophytic fungi antagonistic to Marssonina rosae with modified punching method. [Result] Samples collected from Xianyang exhibited the highest colonization rate and isolation rate; endophytic fungi strains isolated from stems presented the highest colonization rate and isolation rate compared with leaves. A total of 67 en- dophytic fungi strains were isolated from Rosa chinensis, including 3 black spot-re- sistant strains which were all derived from Baoji. [Conclusion] This study laid the foundation for further screening candidate strains of biocontrol fungi and environ- ment-friendly fungal biological control.

The clinical practice of ^(252)Cf neutron brachytherapy devices on malignant tumor in China

The 252 Cf neutron brachytherapy devices were designed and manufactured after solving those problems： the shield difficulties for 252Cf neutron; the method and facilities for 252Cf neutron source deliver; the dose calculation and measurement for 252Cf neutron. From 1999 to 2009, more than twenty 252Cf neutron brachytherapy devices had been installed in China. The Chinese radiation oncologists implemented the 252 Cf neutron braehytherapy on more than 5 000 different kinds of cancer patients, including cervix cancer; endometrium cancer and achieved ideal results. For special presentation, they had breakthrough on radical treatment for low lying rectal adenocarcinoma with sphincter preservation and melanoma patients after the modification of 252Cf neutron intracavitary applicator and dose calibration.

The Prosperity of Using Domestic Triticale Varieties in Kyrgyzstan

The present researches mentioned questions of economic use of domestic triticale and their influences on a phytosanitory condition and fertility of an irrigated arable land in the Chuy Valley of Kyrgyzstan. The result of the work consists of four tables, purpose of the work was to discover roots systems, nutrion value and the main laboratory testing of samples were conducted at the Humboldt University in Berlin, which was completed under the high and compliant standards of the world. The present research conducted on triticale varieties was firstly studied in Kyrgyzstan.

Primary epithelial tumours of the appendix in a black population:A review of cases

AIM： To determine the and clinical features of prevalence, histologic types primary epithelial tumours of the vermiform appendix in a predominantly black population.METHODS： All cases of primary tumours of the appendix identified by review of the histopathology records at the University of the West Indies between January 1987 and June 2007 were selected. Relevant pathologic and clinical data were extracted with supplementation from patient charts where available. Non-epithelial tumours were excluded. The total number of appendectomy specimens over the period was also ascertained.RESULTS： Forty-two primary epithelial tumours were identified out of 6 824 appendectomies yielding a prevalence rate of approximately 0.62%. Welldifferentiated neuroendocrine cell tumours （carcinoids, 47.6%） and benign non-endocrine cell tumours （adenomas, 45.2%） were most common with nearly equal frequency. The median age was 43 years, with no sex predilection. Carcinoid tumours occurred in younger patients （mean age 32 years）, with a male-to-female ratio of 1.2：1. A clinical diagnosis of acute appendicitis was the most common reason for appendectomy （57.1%） and was histologically confirmed in 75% （18 of 24） of cases. In total, 16.7% of cases were diagnosed after incidental appendectomy.CONCLUSION： Appendiceal epithelial tumours are rare in our experience, and are represented principally by carcinoid turnours and adenornas. Carcinoid tumours occurred in younger patients but were slightly more common in men than women. Tumours were not suspected clinically and were diagnosed incidentally in specimens submitted for acute appendicitis supporting the need for histological evaluation in all resection specimens.

Thermal Regime of the Crust of the Eastern Black Sea and Adjacent Territory

In the models to create a representation of the internal structure of the Earth, the distribution thicknesses of the layers, density and pressure is usually clearly shown while the idea of the distribution of temperature in them is extremely vague. Without any doubt, this is very important information that temperature should play a significant role in all of these models. In the presented work, the results of studying of a heat flow distribution and calculations of temperatures of the crust of the Eastern Black Sea water area and adjoining territory are given. The distribution of a heat flow is made on the basis of the experimental data and also on the basis of the calculated flow values. Temperature calculation was performed by solving the heat equation. Study region was covered with equal-step grid and in its node bedding depths of boundary surfaces are known. The temperature calculations were performed at the nodes of the lattice at the bottom of the sedimentary complex, and at the border of Conrad and Moho. The calculations take into account the dependence of the coefficient of thermal conductivity of rocks on temperature.

Three new compounds from endophytic fungus Periconia sp.F-31

Three new compounds(1–3), including a chlorine-containing dihydroisocoumarin pericochlorosin A(1), a chlorinated phenol pericochlorosin B(2) and a decalin derivative pericoannosin G(3), were isolated from endophytic fungus Periconia sp. F-31 of the medicinal plant Annona muricata. The structures and absolute configurations were elucidated by extensive spectroscopic methods and calculated electronic circular dichroism analysis. Compound 2 displayed potent anti-HIV activity with IC50 value of 2.2 μM.

Experimental study on the effect of An-pressing and Rou-kneading Huantiao (GB 30) on certain brain nuclei of pleasure circuits in rats with chronic neuralgia

Objective:To explore the central neurobiological mechanisms of pleasure effect on rats with neuralgia treated by tuina manipulations of An-pressing and Rou-kneading Huantiao (GB 30).Methods:A total of 64 male Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were used in this study.Eighteen rats were randomly selected as a normal group,and the other 46 rats were used to duplicate the chronic constriction injury (CCI) model.Ten rats failed in modeling and 36 rats succeeded.These 36 rats were then randomly divided into a model group and a tuina group,with 18 rats in each group.The rats in the normal group and the model group did not receive any interventions,while those in the tuina group received An-pressing and Rou-kneading Huantiao (GB 30),1 min for each time,once a day,3 weeks in total.Heating tests were evaluated to observe the change of pain-sensitivity score before intervention,1 week after intervention,2 weeks after intervention,and 3 weeks after intervention.After 1 week of intervention,2 weeks of intervention,and 3 weeks of intervention,6 rats were randomly selected from each group respectively for brain extraction.The change of Nissl's body and β-endorphin in the accumbens nucleus as well as amygdaloid nucleus of pleasure circuits,and pro-opiomelanocortin (POMC) in the arcuate nucleus were analyzed by methods of histochemistry and molecular biology.Results:After modeling,the pain-sensitivity scores of the tuina group and the model group were statistically different from the score of the normal group (both P<0.05).After An-pressing and Rou-kneading Huantiao (GB 30) for one week,the pain-sensitivity score of the tuina group had statistical difference compared with that of the model group (P<0.05).At each different time point:the amounts of Nissl's body in accumbens nucleus and amygdaloid nucleus of the tuina group were significantly more than those of the model group (all P<0.01).Besides,the numbers of β-endorphin immunoreactive cells in the accumbens nucleus and amygdaloid nucleus of the rats in the tuina group were significantly higher than those in the model group (all P<0.01),and so was the expression of POMC in arcuate nucleus (all P<0.01).Conclusion:An-pressing and Rou-kneading Huantiao (GB 30),where the sciatic nerve is ligated,can reduce pain-sensitivity score and increase pain tolerance value of rats with chronic neuralgia.It can increase the activity of neurons in accumbens nucleus and amygdaloid nucleus of pleasure circuits,which indicates that the analgesia effect of tuina therapy may correlate with pleasure effect,and also reveals a part of neurobiological mechanisms of neuralgia.
