Because of some advantages such as renewability, low-cost, clean, safe and naturality geothermal and wind energy will have been electricity generation source in the near future. Turkey has hot water springs suitable for electricity generation between 130-242 ~C with natural vapor and hydrothermal alterations in connection with grabens limited to active faults and diffuse young volcanism in Western Anatolia Region. Other renewable energy and electricity generation resource is wind energy. In Turkey electricity generation is made by windfarms/windparks. These parks/farms are generated 1,414.55 MW electricity. The year 2010 electricity general total installed capacity in Turkey is about 49,524.1 MW. According to the total installed capacity, thermal power plants have 65.18%, hydro power plants have 31.97%, geothermal power plants and wind farms have 2.85%. Electricity generation generally was obtained from 15 thermal power plants. In this study high temperature geothermal fields and windparks/windfarms in Turkey which are suitable for electricity generation potential were investigated.展开更多

It is expected that, by 2030, the demand will increase to about 120 GW per year, approximately three times the 2010 load. Satisfying this demand will require a significant investment in the power grid at an estimated cost, over the next 10 years, ofSAR (Saudi Arabia Riyal) 500 billion. Existing power plants rely on oil and natural gas, it is anticipated that meeting the demand in 2030 will consume 3 million barrels ofoil each day, which significantly impacting the economy by reducing the country's income from oil exports, which is a hot button for Saudi decision makers. This paper reviews the responses of various countries in meeting their loads, and therefore, draws recommendations for some resources that should, and should not, be considered best-candidate options for Saudi Arabia economically, technically and environmentally. The discussion primarily examines renewable and nuclear resources.展开更多

Flexible load requirements associated with frequent shutdowns especially in plants with peak load area are the results. In addition, large reserve capacities have to be retained for short-terms needs which can be quickly start operation. For this reason, preservation procedures play an increasingly important role. They should provide a good protective effect with the most simple handling and flexible management system. The preservation using FFA (film forming amines), for example, octadecylamine become more and more attraction. With the lecture, a first insight into the preservation process using octadecylamine will be given to the operators of boiler and turbine plants. Especially in the view of the further increase in supply of renewable energy and related flexibility requirements in the existing power plants, an efficient and sustainable preservation technology will be presented.展开更多
