“Vn+O”式新闻标题句一开始出现就备受关注,1997年有专家认为它是“一种似乎要流行开来的可疑句式”,并且推断“一种语言是依照它本身的内部规律和它的说者的整体文化素质而发展的,所以这种句式究竟会不会流行开来,眼下还难见分... “Vn+O”式新闻标题句一开始出现就备受关注,1997年有专家认为它是“一种似乎要流行开来的可疑句式”,并且推断“一种语言是依照它本身的内部规律和它的说者的整体文化素质而发展的,所以这种句式究竟会不会流行开来,眼下还难见分晓”。善与此同时,汪惠迪提供了“在新加坡,‘动宾式动词+宾语’这种句式首先出现于新闻语言中”的语料达43条之多。现在,这种新闻标题句在报刊上随处可见,实际上真的已经“流行开来”了。其间,不少学者从语言结构和语义特征等方面探讨这种不断兴盛的语言现象,取得了一些规律性的认识。但对于它在新闻标题语言中所显现出来的句式、语义特点及语用功能少有论及。本文试图依据功能语言学理论进行探讨,以便更加深刻地认识和掌握其语用规律,从而更加自觉和准确地运用这种新闻标题句式。 展开更多

How to train the non-English major students' critical thinking ability in the English writing instruction plays an important role in the compound personnel training. In this paper, the reading-discussion-writing approach which guarantees the innovative construction of writing is proposed to train college students' critical thinking ability, and specific suggestions on the practice are articulated such as designing diversified listening and speaking lead-in activities to activate or supplement the relative notion and background knowledge, using variety of challenging reading-discussion-writing tasks, and conducting mutual evaluation, etc., to let students deeply understand the text through discussion and promote their language competence and writing ability as well as their reflective thinking ability. 展开更多

This study is undertaken to find out writers' attention patterns in these two different writing methods (the direct method and the translation-based method) during the writing process through the think-aloud method and EFL learners' perception of the advantages and disadvantages of those two writing methods.The results show that the subjects' attention patterns in the direct method and in the translation-based method are quite different and the differences are mainly embodied in the linguistic level attention and personal comment.As far as the subjects are concerned,writing directly in English is easier and faster than writing through translation,and the direct writing method often helps them learn English language and forces them to focus on English expression.In contrast,for the translation-based writing method,the subjects as a whole relate that they have a wide range of vocabulary and expressions,have a greater number of ideas,and can think through ideas clearly. 展开更多
