1997年,顺义区政府为各乡镇配置了计算机和相关设备,科技站的工作人员通过计算机与市农林科学院联网,运行农业生产管理专家系统决策,通过与计算机的不断交互,制定有关施肥、灌溉、病虫害防治方案,告诉农民具体如何管理农业生产。1998年,大兴县青云店东店的470亩麦田,在当地统一部署下,决定于三月底、四月初浇灌返青水,但经过计算机专家系统决策,免浇了返青水,不但节约了水资源,每亩减少开支10万元以上。
