However, the existing literature has paid little attention to it. Considering the cooperation patents, published in the agriculture field stemming from the Full-text Database of China Patents as the study object, the spatial and institutional attribute of the authors as the data source, and by combining the social network and spatial econometrics analysis, this paper analyzes the structure evolution characteristics of cooperative innovation networks of agricultural government-industry-university-research institute in the city level of China in 1985–2014, based on the triple helix theory, with the influence factors discussed. This shows that, 1) since 1985, China's agricultural innovation level has been substantially increased, but the development degree of the cooperative innovation network is low, and the patent cooperation mainly relies on authors in the same unit; 2) enterprises play a leading role in the agricultural cooperative innovation. The effect of the government and hybrid organizations driven by the government is not obvious; 3) the cooperative innovation in the province and city dominates, and a multi-pole pattern has been formed. The cooperative innovation network structure evolves from a single helix empty core and double helix multi core to a double helix hierarchical network; 4) the city's science, education funding and personnel investment are key factors determining the agricultural cooperative innovation, while the agricultural development of the city presents slight negative impacts on it. The spatial mismatch of supply and demand is present in the technical cooperative innovation of China's agriculture. Therefore, the science enhancement and education investment to big agricultural provinces should be promptly implemented.展开更多

This paper describes the results of a survey of farmers' perception of salinity with regard to salinity assessment. In the lower Cheliff plain, 42 farmers were interviewed using semi-structured questionnaires, and simultaneously, water and soil's salinity were measured in the laboratory. The results from this sample analysis were compared to the farmers' individual opinion on soil and water salinity. Conclusions point to a positive agreement between the two approaches because farmers are familiar with techniques and strategies to mitigate salinity effects. However, they do not perceive the risk of newly changing irrigation water source, which open up to soil degradation hazard.展开更多

In the work, the main aim was to obtain biogas, made from at least 50% methane, and a digestate that can be used in the field of agronomy, from the anaerobic digestion of the substrates. The tests were carried out by digesting different mixtures of the two-phase pomace, mulberry leaves and mud civil wastewater (pre-digested) in a batch system and in anaerobic mesophilic conditions (35 ~C). The substrates were properly homogenized in order to obtain mixtures of known and uniform composition. The initial and final STi (Total Solids) and initial SVi (Volatile Solids), the concentration of chemical oxygen demand and total phenols were measured and the process yield (m3/t SV) was quantified with standard procedure. The objectives of the study were the analysis of microbial biodiversity developed during fermentation of mixtures based products and the microbial communities corresponding to Eubacteria, Archaea and Fungiwas analyzed. The suitability of the digestate for agronomical use was evaluated by estimating pathogens bacteria that may be present and by index of inhibition of plant organisms model.展开更多

Renewable energy plays a decisive role in a cleaner energy production with less environmental impacts. In this new world scenario, several countries create incentive programs aiming to increase the renewable energy share in their energy balance. Biogas is an interesting example of a smart and rational use of organic waste material. Nevertheless, international experience shows that its production relays mainly on government incentives. This paper investigates what the Brazilian government role is to introduce and promote the biogas industry in the country. We estimate the production of agricultural waste energy using biogas derived from cattle and swine waste and analyze the Brazilian legal and regulatory framework for renewable energy, focusing on biogas production, transport and sale. The results point to an unexplored potential of the use of cattle and swine waste for biogas production in Brazil. However, this potential can only become a reality if some legal and regulatory issues are solved. Brazilian government agenda has to include not only filling the legal and regulatory blanks but also creating incentives for the use of biogas.展开更多
