The experimental results showed that the changes in the pressure and aerodynamicloss distribution were dependent primarily on the amount of coolant added and the locationof injecting holes. The pressure surface injection did not change the pressure distributionas clearly as did the suction surface injection due mainly to the difference of mainstreampressure gradients and velocity. The air injection from suction surface led to the largesteffect on the loss increase while the air injection from the pressure surface exerted the leastinfluence.展开更多

The properties of refrigerants CO 2 and NH 3 are introduced and analyzed.CO 2 has the advantage in low stage of cascade refrigeration cycle due to its good characteristics and properties. The thermodynamic analysis results of the CO 2-NH 3 cascade refrigeration cycle demonstrates that the cycle has an optimum condensation temperature of low stage and also has an optimum flow rate ratio.By comparing with the R13-R22 and NH 3-NH 3 cascade refrigeration cycles, the mass flow rate ratio of CO 2-NH 3 is larger than those of R13-R22 and NH 3-NH 3, the theoretical COP of CO 2-NH 3 cascade refrigeration cycle is larger than that of the R13-R22 cascade cycle and smaller than that of the NH 3-NH 3 cascade cycle. But the real COP of CO 2-NH 3 cascade cycle will be higher than those of R13-R22 and NH 3-NH 3 because the specific volume of CO 2 at low temperature does not change much and its dynamic viscosity is also small.展开更多

In this study, pseudo-shock waves in a modeled cold spray nozzle as well as high-speed gas jets are visualized by schlieren technique. The schlieren photographs reveals the supersonic flow with shock train in the nozzle. Static pressure along the barrel wall is also measured. The location of the head of pseudo-shock wave and its pressure distribution along the nozzle wall are analytically explained by using a formula of pseudo-shock wave. The analytical results show that the supersonic flow accompanying shock wave in the nozzle should be treated as pseudo-shock wave instead of normal shock wave.展开更多

Dual-fanned hole is a novel shaped hole which has both inlet expansion and outlet expansion. A transient thermochromic liquid crystal technique was used to reveal the local values of film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient. The results show that injection angles have strong influence on the two dimensional distributions of film cooling effectiveness and heat transfer coefficient. For the small injection angle of 30 degree and small blowing ratio of 1.0, there is only a narrow spanwise region covered with film. The increase of injection angle and blowing ratio both leads to the enhanced spanwise film diffusion, but reduced local cooling ability far away from the hole. Injection angles have comprehensive influence on the averaged film cooling effectiveness for various x/d locations. As injection angles are 30 and 60 degree, two bands of high heat transfer coefficients are found in mixing region of the gas and coolant. As injection angle increases to 90 degree, the mixing leads to the enhanced heat transfer region near the film hole. The averaged heat transfer coefficient increases with the increase of injection angle.展开更多
