The proposed tuning formula consistently gives better performance in comparison to several well-known methods at the same degree of robustness for stable, integrating and unstable processes. For the selection of the closed-loop time constant(τc), a guideline is provided over a broad range of time-delay/time-constant ratios on the basis of the peak of maximum sensitivity(Ms). An analysis has been performed for the uncertainty margin with the different process parameters for the robust controller design. It gives the guideline of the Ms-value settings for the PI controller designs based on the process parameters uncertainty. Furthermore, a relationship has been developed between Ms-value and uncertainty margin with the different process parameters(k, τ and θ). Simulation study has been conducted for the broad class of processes and the controllers are tuned to have the same degree of robustness by measuring the maximum sensitivity, Ms, in order to obtain a reasonable comparison.展开更多

Methods The search was conducted in the PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Library, and China Biology Medicine databases from inception through December 31, 2014, without language restrictions. The meta-analysis was conducted using STATA version 12.0 and Meta-Disc version 1.4. We calculated the summary statistics for sensitivity (Sen), specificity (Spe), positive and negative likelihood ratio (LR+/LR–), diagnostic odds ratio (DOR), and summary receiver operating characteristic (SROC) curve. Results Ten studies that met al inclusion criteria were included in the meta-analysis. A total of 608 ma-lignant breast lesions and 1292 benign breast tumors were assessed. Al breast lesions were histological y confirmed after RTE. The pooled Sen was 0.83 (95% CI = 0.79–0.86); the pooled Spe was 0.86 (95% CI = 0.84–0.88). The pooled LR+ was 9.87 (95% CI = 2.66–36.71); the pooled LR– was 0.20 (95% CI = 0.17–0.23). The pooled DOR of RTE for the diagnosis of breast cancer was 62.21 (95% CI = 33.88–114.24). The area under the SROC curve was 0.9334 (standard error = 0.00125). We found no evidence of publica-tion bias (t = –0.57, P = 0.582). Conclusion RTE may have high diagnostic accuracy for the dif erential diagnosis of benign and malig-nant breast tumors. RTE may be a good tool for breast cancer diagnosis.展开更多

In this method the structure is subjected to gradually intensifying acceleration functions and its performance is evaluated based on the length of the time duration that can satisfy required performance criteria. For this purpose Dez arch dam is selected as case study, fluid-structure interaction is taken into account and F.E. model of the system is excited in three performance levels. ETA method gives an approximation of maximum response at the equivalent target time, resulted from analyzing the system based on natural records. Extracted results are displacement, velocity and acceleration of the crest at crown cantilever. Results show using of ETA method can reduce at least 50% in number of analyses and 70% in total time of analyses at the current case. Furthermore, it is found that although the results of the ETA are not exactly consistent with the results of time-history analyses using real ground motions, errors are reasonable and ETA can identify performance levels of the dam with acceptable accuracy.展开更多

However, the real roughness of the surface is 3D (three-dimensional). Roughness parameters of the 3D surface are also important in analyzing the mechanics of contact surfaces. Problems of mechanics of contact surfaces are related to accuracy of 3D surface roughness characteristic. One of the most important factors for 3D characteristics determination is the number of data points per x and y axes. With number of data points we understand its number in cut-off length. Number of data points have substantial influence on the accuracy of measurement results, measuring time and size of output data file (especially along the y-axis direction, where number of data points are number of parallel profiles). Number of data points must be optimal. Small number of data points lead to incorrect results and increase distribution amplitude, but too large number of data points do not enlarge range of fundamental information, but substantially increase measuring time. Therefore, we must find optimal number of data points per each surface processing method.展开更多

LDA is well-known scheme for feature extraction and dimension reduction. It provides improved performance over the standard Principal Component Analysis (PCA) method of face recognition by introducing the concept of classes and distance between classes. This paper provides an overview of PCA, the various variants of LDA and their basic drawbacks. The paper also has proposed a development over classical LDA, i.e., LDA using wavelets transform approach that enhances performance as regards accuracy and time complexity. Experiments on ORL face database clearly demonstrate this and the graphical comparison of the algorithms clearly showcases the improved recognition rate in case of the proposed algorithm.展开更多

The parameters of stable space under time delay uncertainty are fixed after Rekasius transformation, and then a new cluster treatment of characteristic roots (CTCR) procedure is adopted to determine the stable space. By this strategy we find that the unstable space is not continuous and both Karitonov vertices theory and Edge theory are unable to be extended to quasi-polynomial under time delay uncertainty.展开更多

Firstly, the mathematical model of inertial memristor-based neural networks(IMNNs) with time delay is proposed, where the coupling matrix satisfies the diffusion condition, which can be symmetric or asymmetric. Secondly, by using differential inclusion method and Halanay inequality, some algebraic self-synchronization criteria are obtained. Then, via constructing effective Lyapunov functional, designing discontinuous control algorithms, some new sufficient conditions are gained to achieve synchronization of networks. Finally, two illustrative simulations are provided to show the validity of the obtained results, which cannot be contained by each other.展开更多

Traditional causality inference methods have a salient limitation that the model must be linear and with Gaussian noise. Although additive model regression can effectively infer the nonlinear causal relationships of additive nonlinear time series, it suffers from the limitation that contemporaneous causal relationships of variables must be linear and not always valid to test conditional independence relations. This paper provides a nonparametric method that employs both mutual information and conditional mutual information to identify causal structure of a class of nonlinear time series models, which extends the additive nonlinear times series to nonlinear structural vector autoregressive models. An algorithm is developed to learn the contemporaneous and the lagged causal relationships of variables. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of the nroosed method.展开更多

The calculated geometry parameters and spectroscopic results agree well with the experimental observation. In the ground state, FPt exists in the form of monomer, while in the excited state, dimer [FPt]2 forms with a Pt-Pt contraction of 0.05 nm due to the promotion of σ[dz2(Pt2)] to π*(phenylryridyl) and σ[pz(Pt2)]. Transition properties of monomer and excimer are different in nature: the former originates from mixed transitions of 3MLCT and 3ILCT, while the latter is dominated by 3MMLCT transition.展开更多
