Structural Dynamics of Phenyl Azide in Light-Absorbing Excited States: Resonance Raman and Quantum Mechanical Calculation Study

The excited state structural dynamics of phenyl absorbing S2(A'), S3(A'), and S6(A') states were troseopy and complete active space self-consistent and the UV absorption bands were assigned on azide (PhN3) after excitation to the light studied using the resonance Raman specfield calculations. The vibrational spectra the basis of the Fourier transform (FT)- Raman, FT-infrared measurements, the density-functional theory computations and the normal mode analysis. The A-, B-, and C-bands resonance Raman spectra in cyclohex- ane, acetonitrile, and methanol solvents were, respectively, obtained at 273.9, 252.7, 245.9, 228.7, 223.1, and 208.8 nm excitation wavelengths to probe the corresponding structural dynamics of PhN3. The results indicated that the structural dynamics in the S2 (A'), S3(A'), and S6(A') states were significantly different. The crossing points of the potential energy surfaces, S2S1(1) and S2S1(2), were predicted to play a key role in the low-lying excited state decay dynamics, in accordance with Kasha's rule, and NT=N8 dissociation. Two decay channels initiated from the Franck-Condon region of the S2(A') state were predicted: the radiative S2,min→S0 radiative decay and the S2→S1 internal conversion through the crossing points S2S1 (1)/S2S1(2). 展开更多

The nozzle of the self-oscillating & deflecting water jet consists of an upstream nozzle, a downstream nozzle, an oscillating chamber and two switches. It is experimentally shown that the deflective angle may reach 9.53 degree. The generated pressure fluctuation is very regular and the jet can efficiently increase the ability for breaking and cutting by eliminating the water cushion effect associated with a continuous jet. 展开更多

The decay dynamics of N, N-dimethylthioacetamide after excitation to the S3(ππ*) state was studied by using the resonance Raman spectroscopy and complete active space self- consistent field method calculations. The UV-absorption and vibrational spectra were as- signed. The A-band resonance Raman spectra were obtained in acetonitrile, methanol and water with the laser excitation wavelengths in resonance with the first intense absorption band to probe the Franck-Condon region structural dynamics. The CASSCF calculations were carried out to determine the excitation energies and optimized structures of the lower- lying singlet states and conical intersection point. The A-band structural dynamics and the corresponding decay mechanism were obtained by the analysis of the resonance Raman in- tensity pattern and the CASSCF calculated structural parameters. The major decay channel of S3,FC (ππ*)→S3(ππ*)/S1 (nπ*)→S1(nπ*) is proposed. 展开更多

In order to study the influence of the structural parameters of the rubber bush on its radial stiffness, the constitutive relation of rubber materiel is used to obtain the calculation formula of the dimensionless radial stiffness coefficient. The obtained theoretical result is consistent with previous research results in both long rubber bushes and short rubber bushes. The simulation case was conducted by the finite element method to verify the correctness of the theory. The axial compression experiment was conducted to obtain the parameters needed in the simulation. The result shows that the percentage difference between the theoretical result and the simulation one is only 2.75%. A series of simulations were conducted to compare with previous work, and the largest magnitude of the percentage difference is only about 5%. Finally, the radial stiffness experiment was conducted by using a dynamic vibration absorber, and the influence of the structural parameters of the rubber bush on its radial stiffness is obtained. The result shows that the radial stiffness of the rubber bush increases with the increase in the length and the inner radius, but decreases with the increase in the outer radius. 展开更多

The vibration of machines due to rotating parts unbalance disturbs the machine functioning and shortens the lifetime of its parts. A dynamic vibration absorber is a favorite solution to suppress the machine vibration since its implementation does not require any modification neither on the machine nor on its installation. The paper considers an unbalanced machine to which a lumped mass dynamic vibration absorber is attached. Firstly, the machine equipped with the absorber is modeled, and the vibration expressions are extracted. Secondly, an original approach to optimize the absorber parameters is presented, and simulation results are advanced, when the absorber is undamped and damped. Thirdly, the absorber optimal parameters allowing the best vibration reduction of the machine are identified, showing bow the absorber should be designed, when the disturbance frequency is stable or unstable. The results are a significant contribution in the vibration control of unbalanced machines. 展开更多

Installation of rail vibration dampers (rail dampers for short) onto rails between sleepers is one of the measures to control rail noise generation and roughness growth. Amid the rapid expansion of high-speed and underground railway networks in China, many suppliers are actively marketing and promoting their products, often giving confusing information. In this paper, a parametric study is used to investigate the effect of rail dampers on the dynamical behavior of a Chinese high-speed railway track. The Fourier transform-based method developed for analyzing dynamics of a railway track as an infinitely long periodic structure, with or without rail dampers, is applied in the investigation. It is hoped that results in this paper can help develop the understanding of the working mechanism of rail dampers, and provide useful information for product design and application. 展开更多
