We solve the equations, obtain the attenuation coefficients, and analyze the characteristics of wave attenuation in the seismic frequency range. The results suggest that seismic waves show attenuation and dispersion in partially saturated rocks in the low frequency range. With frequency increasing, attenuation increases. The attenuation of P-waves of the second kind is more pronounced in agreement with Biot's theory. We also study the effect of porosity, saturation, and inner sphere radius on the attenuation of the P-waves of the first kind and find that attenuation increases with increasing frequency and porosity, and decreases with increasing frequency and degree of saturation. As for the inner sphere radius, wave attenuation is initially increasing with increasing frequency and inner sphere radius less than half the outer radius. Subsequently, wave attenuation decreases with increasing frequency and inner sphere radius is higher than half the outer sphere radius.展开更多

But at present, the mechanical models of MRD were all derived from the experiment subjected to harmonic vibration loads. In this paper, a commercial MRD (type RD-1005-3) manufactured by Lord Corporation was studied ex-perimentally in order to investigate its isolation performance under the impact loads. A new me-chanical model of MRD was proposed according to the data obtained by impact test. A good agreement between the numerical results and test data was observed, which showed that the model was good to simulate the dynamic properties of MRD under impact loads. It is also demon-strated that MRD can improve the acceleration and displacement response of the structure obvi-ously under impact loads.展开更多

Its application to the parametric design of an electrorheological fluid shock absorber with the simulation calculation performed by program MATLAB demonstrates that the model can predict the behavior of ER shock absorbers satisfactorily, shorten the design period of an electrorheological shock absorber, and reduce the cost in the prototype manufacturing. The strength analysis based on a three-dimensional finite element model for the electrorheological shock absorber confirm that the structure design of the ER shock absorber is reasonable, and the stress distribution is uniform.展开更多

The author summarized the seismic intensity attenuation laws in the Xinjiang region with the multiple regression fitting method. The intensity attenuation function of the elliptical model was provided and the fitting results in different periods and areas were compared. Finally, the intensity attenuation relationship in the Xinjiang region was obtained by the method of constraining the start and end of the attenuation curves.展开更多

Firstly, the study area is divided into grids, and some parameters (e. g. b-value, Mo, Me, azimuth and M-L relationship ) for each seismotectonic model were assigned. Secondly, using elliptical smoothing based on a seismotectonic background model, the statistical earthquake incidence rate in each grid is successively calculated. Lastly, the relevant ground motion attenuation relationship is chosen to assess seismic hazard of general sites. The maps for the distribution of horizontal peak ground acceleration with 10% probability of exceedance in 50 years were obtained by using the seismic hazard analysis method based on grid source. This seismicity model simplifies the methodology of probabilistic seismic hazard analysis, especially appropriate for those places where seismic tectonics is not yet clearly known. This method can provide valuable references for seismic zonation and seismic safety assessment for significant engineering projects.展开更多

According to the correspondence principle, the Biot-Squirt (BISQ) equations in the steady-state case are presented for the space-frequency domain described by solid displacements and fluid pressure in a homogeneous viscoelastic medium. The effective bulk modulus of a multiphase flow is computed by the Voigt formula, and the characteristic squirt-flow length is revised for the gas-included case. We then build a viscoelastic BISQ model containing a multiphase flow. Through using this model, wave dispersion and attenuation are studied in a medium with low porosity and low permeability. Furthermore, this model is applied to observed interwell seismic data. Analysis of these data reveals that the viscoelastic parameter tan6 is not a constant. Thus, we present a linear frequen- cy-dependent function in the interwell seismic frequency range to express tanG. This improves the fit between the observed data and theoretical results.展开更多
