During shifting of segments onto a barge, the slideway on the barge's deck must be adjusted to maintain the same level as the wharf and also the barge must be kept level by adjusting the water in the ballast tanks. When to open the adjusting valves is an important factor influencing the barge's trim during the water-adjustment process. Because these adjustments are complex a mathematical model was formulated, after analyzing the characteristics of the process of moving the segments onto the barges deck, and considering the effects of this movement's speed and variations in tidal levels during the move. Then the model was solved by the penalty function method, the grid method, and improved simulated annealing, respectively. The best optimization model and its corresponding solution were then determined. Finally, it was proven that the model and the method adopted are correct and suitable, by calculating and analysing an example.展开更多

For making the modified FALCON learning more efficient and stable, a simulated annealing (SA) learning coefficient is introduced into learning algorithm. At first, the basic concepts and main advantages of FALCON were briefly reviewed. Subsequently, the topological structure and nodes operation were illustrated; the gradient-descent learning algorithm with SA learning coefficient was derived; and the distinctions between the archetype and the modification were analyzed. Eventually, the significance and worthiness of the modified FALCON were validated by its application to probability prediction of anode effect in aluminium electrolysis cells.展开更多

By using copula theory, the scenarios are simulated from multivariable joint distribution but only from their dependency matrix. Hence, the scenarios generated by proposed method can contain flail statistical information of multivariate. Here, the details of simu- lating scenarios for multi-wind-farm are explained with four steps: determine margin of one wind farm, fit the copulas, choose optimal copulas and simulate scenarios by Mote Carlo. Moreover, the producing process of scenarios is demonstrated by two adjacent actual wind farms in China. With the scenarios, the STOPF is con- verted into the same amount deterministic sub OPF models which can be solved by available technology per- fectly. Results using copula theory are compared against results from history samples based on two designs: IEEE 30-bus and IEEE 118-bus systems. The comparison results prove the accuracy of the proposed methodology.展开更多

There are prominent differences be- tween the roles of quadratic time-delayed feedback and cubic time-delayed feedback on the correlations of an autonomous stochastic system. Under quadratic time-delayed feedback, the nonlinear time delay fails to improve the noisy state of the autonomous stochastic system, the auto-correlation decreases monotonously to zero, and the cross-correlation increases monotonously to zero with the decay time. Under cubic time-delayed feedback, the nonlinear time delay can improve the noisy state of the autonomous stochastic system; the auto-correlation and the cross-correlation show periodical oscillation and attenuation, finally tending to zero with the decay time. Comparing the correlations of the system between with nonfinear time-delayed feedback and linear time-delayed feedback, we find that nonlinear time-delayed feedback lowers the correlation strength of the autonomous stochastic system.展开更多
