By performing ab initio molecular dynamics simulations, we have investigated the microstructure, dynamical and electronic properties of liquid phosphorus (P) under high temperature and pressure. In our simulations, the calculated coordination number (CN) changes discontinuously with density, and seems to increase rapidly after liquid P is compressed to 2.5 g/cm3. Under compression, liquid P shows the first-order liquid-liquid phase transition from the molecular liquid composed of the tetrahedral P4 molecules to complex polymeric form with three-dimensional network structure, accompanied by the nonmetal to metal transition of the electronic structure. The order parameters Q6 and Q4 are sensitive to the microstructural change of liquid P. By calculating diffusion coefficients, we show the dynamical anomaly of liquid P by compression. At lower temperatures, a maximum exists at the diffusion coefficients as a function of density; at higher temperatures, the anomalous behavior is weakened. The excess entropy shows the same phenomena as the diffusion coefficients. By analysis of the angle distribution functions and angular limited triplet correlation functions, we can clearly find that the Peierls distortion in polymeric form of liquid P is reduced by further compression. 展开更多

A simplified probabilistic analysis of geomembrane punctures from granular material was presented when subjected to liquid pressure.The probability distribution of contact force between geomembrane and granular material was obtained based on the principle of equal probability and assumptions that grains are spheres with constant size.A particle flow code PFC3Dwas employed to simulate the contact process which indicates a good agreement with the theoretical probabilistic analysis.The odds of geomembrane puncture from grains of constant size were obtained by evaluating the puncture force which should not exceed the puncture resistance of geomembrane.The effects of grain radius,grain rigidity and liquid pressure were studied in more detail and displayed in graphs.Both high-level of liquid pressure and large grain can result in high risk of geomembrane puncture.The influence of grain rigidity on the geomembrane puncture odds is significant.For granular material with a grain size distribution,the geomembrane puncture odds can be estimated by the grain size distribution,served as weight function and it is a cautious design if the largest grain is chosen as the design grain size. 展开更多

In this study, the effects of length-width ratio and diversion trench of the spacer on the fluid flow behavior in an electrodialyzer have been investigated through CFD simulation method. The relevant information, including the pressure drop, velocity vector distribution and shear stress distribution, demonstrates the importance of optimized design of the spacer in an electrodialysis process. The results show width of the diversion trench has a great effect on the fluid flow compared with length. Increase of the diversion trench width could strength the fluid flow, but also increase the pressure drop. Secondly, the dead zone of the fluid flow decreases with increase of length-width ratio of the spacer, but the pressure drop increases with the increase of length-width ratio of the spacer. So the appropriate length-width ratio of the space should be moderate. 展开更多

Plasma membrane of plant cells is surrounded by cellulose wall and adjacent cells are joined together by a thick pectin rich matrix. Separation of plant cells and removal of the cell wall experimentally, by either a mechanical or an enzymatic process, results in the production ofprotoplast. Protoplasts are useful tools to study the uptake and transport ofmacromolecules and production of somatic hybrids. Protoplasts can be obtained from all types of actively growing young and healthy tissues. The most convenient and widely used source of plant protoplasts is leaf. Juvenile seedling tissues, cotyledons are other alternative tissues most frequently used for protoplasts isolation. All the environmental and genotypic factors, which affect the cell wall thickenings and compactness indirectly, influence the number of protoplasts recovered. Protoplasts are isolated by two methods, mechanical and enzymatic. The enzyme mixture solution of celluiose/macerozyme is used to digest the cell wall. The critical factors affecting the obtaning ofprotoplasts are the kinds of cell wall degrading enzymes, the physiological state of plant leaves, the type of osmotic stabilizers and the composition of reaction solution. With the improvement of technique and enzyme combination rate, the yield of collected protoplasts will be increased higher. 展开更多

The velocity field of generalized second order fluid with fractional anomalous diiusion caused by a plate moving impulsively in its own plane is investigated and the anomalous diffusion problems of the stress field and vortex sheet caused by this process are studied. Many previous and classical results can be considered as particular cases of this paper, such as the solutions of the fractional diffusion equations obtained by Wyss; the classical Rayleigh’s time-space similarity solution; the relationship between stress field and velocity field obtained by Bagley and co-worker and Podlubny’s results on the fractional motion equation of a plate. In addition, a lot of significant results also are obtained. For example, the necessary condition for causing the vortex sheet is that the time fractional diffusion index β must be greater than that of generalized second order fluid α; the establiihment of the vorticity distribution function depends on the time history of the velocity profile at a given point, and the time history can be described by the fractional calculus. 展开更多

Objective: The effects of hydraulic pressure on renal tubular epithelial-myofibroblast transdifferentiation (TEMT) were investigated. Methods: We applied hydraulic pressure (50 cmH2O) to normal rat kidney tubular epithelial cells (NRK52E) for different durations. Furthermore, different pressure magnitudes were applied to cells. The morphology, cytoskeleton, and expression ofmyofibroblastic marker protein and transforming growth factor-β1 (TGF-β1) of NRK52E cells were examined. Results Disorganized actin filaments and formation of curling clusters in actin were seen in the cytoplasm of pressurized cells. We verified that de novo expression α-smooth muscle actin induced by pressure, which indicated TEMT, was dependent on both the magnitude and duration of pressure. TGF-β1 expression was significantly upregulated under certain conditions, which implies that the induction of TEMT by hydraulic pressure is related with TGF-β1. Conclusion: We illustrate for the first time that hydraulic pressure can induce TEMT in a pressure magnitude- and duration-dependent manner, and that this TEMT is accompanied by TGF-β1 secretion. 展开更多

The theory of limit cycles was applied to hydraulic hybrid vehicle (HHV) to analyze the dynamic characteristics of the system. The exact mathematical models based on configuration diagram of HHV were built to study on equilibrium points, nonexistence of limit cycle and stability of equilibrium points. The analysis showed that if the Young's modulus of fluid is neglected, the equilibrium points of the system will be distributed on both sides of the initial function. In addition, there is a unique equilibrium point according to the practical signification of the system parameters. The nonexistence analysis showed that there is no limit cycle for the system, no matter how the viscosity coefficient B changes. The stability analysis of equilibrium points showed that the system is asymptotically stable about the equilibrium point at B≥0 and the equilibrium point is the center point of the system at B=0. Finally, the phase diagrams of global topological structure of HHV system were entirely described according to qualitative analysis of the singular points at infinity. 展开更多
