Methods: All the papers studied on Chinese cancer patients treated by bevacizumab were found in both databases of Chinese journal database for fulltext and PubMed were collected. The commonly used efficacy index such as disease control rate (CR + PR + SD) and response rate (CR + PR) were analyzed, and the bevacizumab related side effects were analyzed too. Results: (1) There were ten original papers contained total 199 patients who were the candidates to analyze the safety profiles, and 115 patients with colorectal cancer in five papers who were candidates to analyze the efficacy. (2) Nine in ten papers set the dose of bevacizumab in 2.5 mg/kg/week - 5 mg/kg/week, and the biweekly was the standard chemotherapy interval. (3) The disease control rate and response rate in Chinese colorectal cancer patients were 85% (95% CI: 79%-92%) and 61% (95% CI: 52%-70%), respectively. (4) The side effects related to bevacizumab were rare and most of them were grades 1-2, and only one case with grade 4 bleeding was recorded and only two cases with discontinuation of bevacizumab since hemoplysis. Also, the grades 3-4 side effects related cytotoxic agents were not common. Conclusion: This study summarized the data of Chinese cancer patients treated by bevacizumab-contained regimens, and it showed that the monoclonal antibody was effective and safe for Chinese patients as the West patients.展开更多

Based on quantitative study of RSD from Core Periodical in China National Knowledge Infrastructure (1992–2008), statistical analysis on the annual distribution, periodicals distribution and changes of the distribution were made. And from perspectives of social–economic, ecological, systematic and emerging methods, the course, problems and trends of the quantitative study methods on RSD were examined and analyzed to get a clear summary. By the review, the context on the quantitative study of RSD was to be clarified. The study also showed that, primarily, fields involving quantitative study are expanding; second, big progresses and constant development have been made on the systematic method gradually sophisticated, the flourishing ecological method and emerging new methods in the context of cross and integration which has made complex integrated systems a more satisfactory solution; third, the method system has been more multi-angled, and the clues of independent innovation have been observed despite the fact that the introduction of imported method is the main trend. Although many problems exist, multi-scale study, dynamic timeseries study and inter-regional comparative study will be further exploited and increasingly carried out with the progress of spatial information technology, which would boost the development and application of new methods in RSD study.展开更多

Eligible randomized controlled trials(RCT) on angina pectoris were included. We conducted meta-analysis using the RevMan 5.1 software from The Cochrane Collaboration. We treated the relief rate of angina symptoms and electrocardiograph(ECG) as evaluation.RESULTS: Seven articles, including in 1134 patients, were enrolled after the evaluation. Therewas no significant heterogeneity among the studies(χ2=1.08, df=6, P=0.98, I2=0%). The safflower yellow injection with conventional therapy has a higher effective rate than the control group in relieving the symptoms of angina pectoris [odds ratio(OR)=2.95, 95%(CI)(1.81, 4.81)] and improving ischemic ECG [OR=2.85, 95% CI(1.67, 4.86)]. The difference was statistically significant in the "80 mg dosage" and "100 mg dosage" subgroups(P0.05) for improving clinical symptoms and ECG. The funnel graphic was nearly symmetrical. Sensitivity analysis suggested that the results were stable.CONCLUSION: Safflower yellow injection as an adjunct therapy with conventional drugs shows advantages in easing the clinical symptoms of unstable angina and improving ECG over basic therapy alone. However, the conclusions should be interpreted with care until more high-quality RCTs are reported.展开更多

Methods: The related case reports published in periodicals published from 1949 to 2006 were analyzed with the bibliometrics method. Possibility on safety assessment of Chinese materia medica was discussed as well with the method of link analysis. Results: The total number of the tonics selected for the present study was 101, including 44 single drugs and 46 set prescriptions with adverse drug reactions (ADR) found in these tonics. It was found that ADR of 10 single drugs and 29 preparations were not specified in authoritative Chinese materia medica monographs. Among all the set prescriptions, the problem of injection has been standing on the top. Statistical analysis on single factor demonstrates that the most frequently referred ADR come from drug abuse (accounting for 29.20%), and overdose (24.54%). Conclusion: The safety problem of injection remains in a trend of robust growth at least for a period of time, thus reappraisal of the safety issue for the tonics of injection is imperative. It is essential for the public to take doctor’s advice to guarantee safe administration of the tonics, especially for the patients with allergic constitution or those suffering from the liver and heart diseases.展开更多
