The influences of various operation parameters, including cryst...Separation and purification of dodecanedioic acid (DDDA) from its homologous compounds were studied experimentally by falling film crystallization (FFC). The influences of various operation parameters, including crystallizing time, flow rate of melt and temperature of glycerine bath, on purity of DDDA and crystallizing rate were investigated. Over 99% (by mole) DDDA was obtained for a feed composition of 96% (by mole). The main factors affecting the separation efficiency are flow rate of melt and temperature of glycerine bath. The crystallizing layer of DDDA was further purified by sweating and blasting. A set of optimized operation data are provided for better understanding the mechanism of heat and mass transfer in FFC, and for further industrial application of DDDA purification process.展开更多

The experimental installations included saponification and extraction installation, cryogenic centrifugation crystallization installation and continuous midium pressure column chromatography separation installation In the paper, a separation integrated technology route was designed: saponification and extraction-crystallization - silica gel column chromatography-recrystallization. Finally, refined solanesol (-95.5%) was successfully got. The new method featured shorter experimental times, as well as lower solvent consumption, compared with the conventional extraction methods. The mining system can improve economic benefits b...In order to enhance coal recovery ratio of open pit coal mines, a new extraction method called zonal mining system for residual coal around the end-walls is presented. The mining system can improve economic benefits by exploiting haulage and ventilation roadways from the exposed position of coal seams by uti- lizing the existing transportation systems. Moreover, the main mining parameters have also been dis- cussed. The outcome shows that the load on coal seam roof is about 0.307 MPa and the drop step of the coal seam roof about 20.3 m when the thickness of cover and average volume weight are about 120 m and 0.023 MN/m~ respectively. With the increase of mining height and width, the coal recovery ratio can be improved. However, when recovery ratio is more than 0.85, the average stress on the coal pillar will increase tempestuously, so the recovery ratio should also be controlled to make the coal seam roof safe. Based on the numerical simulation results, it is concluded that the ratio of coal pillar width to height should be more than 1.0 to make sure the coal pillars are steady, and there are only minor dis- placements on the end-walls.展开更多

The process was named ...A new technique was developed for the integrated processing of cell disruption and aqueous two-phase extraction in a high-speed bead mill to separate intracellular proteins from microbial cells. The process was named as simultaneous cell disruption and aqueous two-phase extraction (SDATE). Advantages, such as high cell disruption efficiency, biochemical activities preservation of proteins, cell debris elimination, and prelimiary purification of the target protein were being claimed. When this technique was employed for isolating recombinant Tumor Necrosis Factor (TNF) from E. coli, overall protein concentration and TNF activity were found to have been increased. More than 95% of TNF was partitioned into the top phase and all cell debris were in the bottom phase. The partition coefficient was greater than 3 and the TNF purification factor was greater than 6. It is shown that less separation steps were being utilized in the new technique, meaning a reduction in separation time and less process extractors required.展开更多

Mild extraction technique involving the use of HPLC-DAD-MS was used. The structures of the flavonoids were determined on the basis of mass spectroscopy. Separation of the crude extract by paper chromatography (PC) on forestall as solvent system gave one major yellowish brown spot which had Rf value of 3.9. The Rf value and maximum absorption from UV spectroscopy were the same as those of quercetin standard. The most prominent compound was quercetin followed by three others: kaempferol-3,7-diglucoside, luteolin-7-glucoside, and isorhmnetin-3 -sulphate.展开更多
