It required measures in situ of physicochemical parameters and chemical analysis at laboratory of major element and nutritive salts. The results of this study revealed the presence of pollutants in the Miliane river at El Fahs area and the eutrophication of water in the Bit M'Cherga reservoir. According to the classification of Stuyfzand and Piper, water in the wadis of Melah, Hdada, Miliane and Boudebbane respectively is brackish, salty, extremely hard, chlorinated, sulphated, calcic, and magnesic. Water in the Bir M'Cherga reservoir is characterized by calcic facies chlorinated sulphated and sodic. Thus, the Bir M'Cherga reservoir presents a worrying situation and a risk of qualitative degradation of its water.展开更多

By theoretical calculation, super absorbent polymer (SAP) size and its existent state in indoor static airflow were obtained. SAP content in the sampled air was tested through chemical analysis method and found to be 3.0-7.2 times that of the human health limit in production areas. The concentrations of total suspending particles (TSP) and respirable particles were achieved by weighing. Particles of the most concern differ for varied function areas. Particles smaller than 10μm are mostly produced in the main production process, and 73%-90% particles generated in packing areas are larger than 10μm. SAP raw material particles can easily changed to suspending form by inevitable extrusion and frication. Correlation between respirable particles and TSP agrees well with that in atmospheric environment.展开更多

The field researches were focused on estimating the main sources of contamination, determining and evaluating the changes in the water quality due to the direct wastewater discharges into the Melendiz and Karasu rivers, which recharge the Mamasin dam sites. During the study, water samples were collected from Melendiz and Karasu stream and Mamasin dam, and then, the physical and chemical analyses of water samples were conducted. The relevant in-situ and laboratory analyses were carried out during the dry and wet seasons. The results of the analyses showed that in term of the surface water quality criteria in terms of NO3-N value of both rivers and dam waters, the water quality is always considered as the 1st class in Melendiz stream, the 2nd class in Karasu stream and the 3rd class in Mamasin dam lake. Whereas, in terms of NO4-N values of both rivers and dam waters, the water quality is always considered as the 1st class in Melendiz stream, the 2nd-3rd class in Karasu stream. The total organic carbon (TOC) range for Karasu river is usually from 20 mg/L to 40 mg/L. The high value of organic matter in the Karasu stream can be explained by the availability of intensive green wetlands around this water resource. Finally, the Ministry of Forest and Water Authority give some suggestions for estimating protection zones of Melendiz stream and Mamasin basin's area, such as using the results of environmental tracers to investigate the agricultural contamination, including more sophisticated applications of multiple-tracer analyses to evaluate the travel time of contaminants and estimate the boundary of protection zones.展开更多

At this location, water wells opened for drinking water and irrigation water are used in the agricultural field. Therefore, in the study area, which opened in water samples taken from water wells were examined. It was reformed in the field, water samples were taken from the predrilled water wells. Water wells in the same coordinates are determined by Garmin etrex 30 handheld GPS system. Chemical analysis of water samples taken in the laboratory was made. The wells water's pH, Electrical Conductivity (EC) and Dissolved Solids (TDS) features were acquired by Portable Hanna HI 98125 pH/EC/TDS/℃ meter device at the field. At this study, basalt aquifer features are considered, and water quality and water chemical properties were determined in Diyarbakir city centre, pH, EC and TDS values of the water samples taken on site and those water chemical analyses were measured in the laboratory. Then, they were modelled by using ARC INFO 10.2.1 GIS programme and geostatistical analyst extension tool. At the end of this process, thematic map of Diyarbakir's basalt aquifer pH, EC and TDS were produced.展开更多

The study shows that both the evaporability and anti-knock quality decrease after mixing jet fuel with gasoline. While the mixing proportion increases, the engine power decreases and the fuel consumption increases gradually. When the proportion reaches 40%, the engine power drops by 5.3% to 11.7%, the fuel consumption rises by an average of 3.8%, and meantime the oil dilution and emission of the engine power become worse. Therefore, as for the gasoline engine, the mixed oil can only be used as emergency alternative fuel due to its harm to the engine.展开更多

A completely randomized design with three replicates using five extract concentrations of achillea plant including 0, 25, 50, 75, and 100 g Ll and four amounts of powder of it including 0, 7.5, 15 and 30 g kg1 of soil was employed in laboratory and greenhouse experiments, respectively. All extract concentrations of achillea except 25 g Ll inhibited pea and wheat seed germination significantly, but had no inhibitory effect on the germination of safflower, The powder of mature achillea plants affected the fresh and dry weight and shoots length in these crops negatively compared with the control in all levels. Therefore use of this plant should be prevented in rotation or intercropping with these three crop plants. Further research conducted in the analytical laboratory as well as in the field is needed before a practical application of the extract and powder as weed inhibiting agent can be recommended.展开更多

Particle size characteristics are determined based on the principle that AE signals with different frequency band energies are emitted when particles of different sizes impact an internal wall. By applying chaotic analysis to the AE signals, the malfunction coefficients are well defined. Agglomeration in the fluidized bed can then be detected by the sudden variation of malfunction coefficients. AE signals were investigated in a laboratory scale heated fluidized bed and an industrial polyethylene fluidized bed. Experimental data showed that the malfunction coefficients increased with the growth of agglomeration. The results indicated that agglomeration in fluidized beds can be predicted and diagnosed effectively and precisely using AE techniques based on chaotic analysis.展开更多
