The flammability characterization and thermal composition of polymers flame retarded by decabromodiphenylethane (DBDPE) and antimony trioxide (Sb2O3) were studied by cone calorimeter and thermogravimetry (TG). The results show that ABS/DBDPE/Sb2O3 has the similar flammability parameters and thermal composition curves to ABS/DBDPO/Sb2O3. It suggests that DBDPE/Sb2O3 has the similar flame retardant behavior to DBDPO/Sb2O3. The heat release rate (HRR) and the effect heat combustion (EHC) curves of polymers flame retarded by DBDPE/Sb2O3 all decrease, but the mass loss rate (MLR) curve slightly increase. It shows that the decrease of HRR is not due to the increase of char formation ratio but the generation of incombustible gases. The major flame retardant mechanism of DBDPE/Sb2O3 is gas phase flame retardant mechanism. Increasing content of Sb2O3 in DBDPE/Sb2O3 can improve the flame retardant property and thermal stability of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. Sb2O3 has a good synergistic effect with DBDPE. 展开更多

Allylpolyethoxy carboxylate macromonomers possessing polyethylene oxygen long chains were synthesized by advanced technology of the polyether cap.A novel double-hydrophilic block copolymer was prepared through free radical polymeric reactions in aqueous solution and its performance on CaCO3 inhibition and dispersancy activity towards Fe2 O3 was evaluated in recirculating cooling water systems.The study shows that acrylic acid-allylpolyethoxy carboxylate has a significant ability to inhibit the precipitation of calcium carbonate and an excellent dispersing capability to stabilize iron Ⅲ in industrial cooling systems. X-ray diffraction shows that there is a number of vaterite crystals in the presence of the phosphorous free and non-nitrogen copolymer. The change in crystal forms is also confirmed by the Fourier-transform infrared spectra the scanning electron microscopy and the transmission electron microscopy. The inhibition mechanism is proposed and it shows that the interactions between calcium and polyethylene glycol PEG are the fundamental impetus for restraining the formation of the scale in cooling water systems. 展开更多

Effects of cilnidipine and L-type calcium channel blockers on renal functions in hypertensive patients: a meta-analysis of the randomized trials

In the present study, we aimed to evaluate the effects of cilnidipine and L-type calcium channel blockers(L-type CCBs) on renal function in hypertensive patients. The randomized controlled trials(RCTs) of cilnidipine and L-type CCBs on hypertension treatment were selected from Pubmed, Embase, Google Scholar, CNKI, Science Direct, Ebsco, Springer, Ovid, Cochrane Library, Medline, VIP and Wanfang databases(from the date of databases' establishment to September 2014). Data were independently evaluated following the Jadad standard. The percentage changes of serum creatinine(SCr) value, urinary protein excretion(UPE), urinary protein/creatinine ratio(UPCR) and estimated glomerular filtration rate(e GFR) pre- and post-treatment were extracted for the subsequent meta-analysis. The mean difference(MD) and the 95% confidence interval(95% CI) were determined using RevM an 5.3 software. A total of 10 RCTs of high quality were included and analyzed by fixedor random-effect models. The results indicated that UPE(MD = –36.59, 95% CI: –70.85, –2.33) or UPCR(MD = –46.56, 95% CI: –88.50, –4.62) was significantly reduced by cilnidipine compared with L-type CCBs. However, such significant difference was not detected in reduction of SCr(MD = 0.01, 95% CI: –2.97, 2.98) or eG FR(MD = 1.56, 95% CI: –0.19, 3.31). Compared with L-type CCBs, cilnidipine was more effective in reducing proteinuria or preventing the proteinuria progression. In addition, we did not find significant differences in SCr and eG FR between the two groups. 展开更多

Classification of blocker and non-blocker of hERG potassium ion channel using a support vector machine 被引量:1

The human ether-a-go-go related gene (hERG) channel is responsible for the repolarization during the action potential, and blockage of that may result in severe cardiotoxicity and sudden death. In this study, a dataset containing 1969 compounds was compiled from literature and FDA-approved drugs. Using a support vector machine (SVM), two groups of computational models were built to distinguish whether a compound is a blocker or non-blocker of hERG potassium ion channel. These mod- els fit generally satisfactory. The 100 models built with MACCS fingerprints (Model Group A) showed an average accuracy of 90% and an average matthews correlation coefficient (MCC) value of 0.77 on the test sets. The 100 models built with selected MOE descriptors (Model Group B) showed an average accuracy of 89% and an average MCC value of 0.74 on the test sets. Molecular hydrophobicity and lipophilicity were found to be very important factors which lead to block the hERG potassium ion channel. Some other molecular properties such as electrostatic properties, features based on van der Waals surface area, the number of rigid bonds and molecular surface rugosity also played important roles in blocking bERG potassium ion channel. 展开更多

Polymer nanocomposites are a new class of flame retarded materials which have attracted much attention and considered as a revolutionary new flame retardant approach.A very small amount of nano flame retardants (normally < 5 wt%) can significantly reduce the heat release rate (HRR) and smoke emission (SEA) during the combustion of polymer materials.Moreover,the addition of nano flame retardants can also improve the mechanical properties of polymer materials compared with the deterioration of traditional flame retardants.This paper reviews the recent development in the flame retardant field of polymer nanocomposites and also introduces the related research in our lab.The challenges and problems are discussed and the future development of flame retarded polymer nanocomposites is prospected. 展开更多
