The hydrodynamic coefficients are computed using strip theory formulation by integrating over the length of the floating body. Considering sinusoidal wave with frequency (ω ) varying between 0.3 rad/s and 1.2 rad/s acts on beam to the floating body for zero forward speed, analytical expressions of RAO in frequency domain is obtained. Using the normalization procedure and frequency based analysis, group based classifications are obtained and accordingly governing equations are formulated for each case. After applying the fourth order Runge-Kutta method numerical solutions are obtained and relative importance of the hydrodynamic coefficients is analyzed. To illustrate the roll amplitude effects numerical experiments have been carried out for a Panamax container ship under the action of sinusoidal wave with a fixed wave height. The effect of viscous damping on RAO is evaluated and the model is validated using convergence, consistency and stability analysis. This modelling approach could be useful to model floating body dynamics for higher degrees of freedom and to validate the result.展开更多

Electroencephalogram(EEG) data were recorded according to the modified 10-20 International EEG System. The patterns were compared by the analysis of the motion-evoked EEG signals focusing on the contralateral(C3) and ipsilateral(C4) channels for hemispheric differences. The EEG energy distributions at alpha(8—13 Hz), beta(14—30 Hz) and gamma(30—50 Hz) bands were computed by wavelet transform(WT) and compared by the analysis of variance(ANOVA). The timefrequency(TF) analysis indicated that there existed a contralateral dominance of alpha post-movement event-related synchronization(ERS) pattern during the voluntary task, and that the energy of alpha band increased in the ipsilateral area during the stimulated(median nerve of wrist) task. Besides, the contralateral alpha and beta event-related desynchronization(ERD) patterns were observed in both stimulated and imaginary tasks. Another significant difference was found in the mean power values of gamma band(p<0.01)between the imaginary and other tasks. The results show that significant hemispheric differences such as alpha and beta band EEG energy distributions and TF changing phenomena(ERS/ERD) were found between C3 and C4 areas during all of the three patterns. The largest energy distribution was always at the alpha band for each task.展开更多

The encoding frames are selected according to the motion activity of each frame and the motion accumulation of successive frames. The motion activity analysis is based on the statistics of motion vectors and with consider- ation of the characteristics of H. 264 coding standard. A prediction model of motion accumulation is pro- posed to reduce complex computation of motion estimation. The dynamic encoding frame rate control algorithm is applied to both the frame level and the GOB (Group of Macroblocks ) level. Simulation is done to compare the performance of JM76 with the proposed frame level scheme and GOB level scheme.展开更多

In many cases, the moving portions of video are often the interested regions. Based on tile encoding of JPEG2000,the important regions are discerned by two parameters. One is the complexity of a tile;the other is the motion activity of a tile. Thus an adaptive rate-allocation is re-alized in a lower complexity and the perceptive quality of a frame is improved. Experimental results show the effectiveness of this algorithm.展开更多

This system contained six modules: video flow capture, pre-processing, movement detection, shadow removal, tracking, and object classification. The Gaussian mixture model was utilized to extract the moving object from an image sequence segmented by the mean-shift technique in the pre-processing module. Shadow removal was used to alleviate the negative impact of the shadow to the detected objects. A model-free method was adopted to identify pedestrians. The maximum and minimum integration methods were developed to integrate multiple cues into the mean-shift algorithm and the initial tracking iteration with the competent integrated probability distribution map for object tracking. A simple but effective algorithm was proposed to handle full occlusion cases. The system was tested using real traffic videos from different sites. The results of the test confirm that the system is reliable and has an overall accuracy of over 85%.展开更多

This paper addresses an unsupervised spatio-temporal segmentation scheme to extract moving objects from video sequences. The temporal segmentation localizes moving objects by comparing the motion vector of each block in each frame with the corresponding global motion vector estimated by an outlier rejection(OR) based method.Furthermore, the temporal compensation utilizing the temporal coherence of moving objects is considered in the temporal segmentation to solve the temporarily stopping problem. The detected moving regions usually have discontinuous boundaries and some holes. These regions are then compensated in the spatial domain. In the spatial segmentation, the watershed algorithm considering the global information improves the accuracy of segmentation in the spatial domain. The modified mean filter is presented to suppress some minima.By using a fusion module, moving objects are extracted.Experiments on various sequences have successfully demonstrated the validity of the proposed scheme.展开更多
