Ulysses is Joyce's optimum work, which takes 3 Dublin characters' experience in one day as the main line to show the paralysation and crisis of the whole Western society, people's emptiness on their minds, loneliness on their feelings and labefaction on their spirits, also, it showed the inextricable perplexity. To treat the theme of inextricable perplexity, this paper is trying to set about the inextricable Catholic Church and identity problems, with the ideas of Alick West-the outstanding English Marxist literary critic of the 20th century.展开更多

In seeking to regulate auditor independence in the name of investor protection, SOX has been heralded as "ground-breaking" public interest reform. Ironically, when one considers the substance of these reforms and contrasts them with the situation prevailing in South Africa, a different impression results. Despite the fact that South Africa is classified as a "developing" nation and one which has only recently transitioned to democracy, many of the auditor independence principles legislated under SOX have been part of generally accepted practice in South Africa since the 1950s. Accordingly, SOX may not be the progressive example of auditor regulation that it is generally perceived to be.展开更多

He created a solid legal basis for the country and regulated the ecclesiastic area. He was in West Georgia in 1329-1332/1333. The llkhanid coin was not minted in Georgia during that period; yet, soon the king of Georgia, which had already been united by that time, restored relations with llkhanids and returned to Tbilisi, which implied making the already united Georgia subject to Mongols. Ilkhanid coins and later, coins of Chobanids, the Golden Horde and Jalayirids circulated during the reign of George the Brdhant. In 1338-1339 George the Brilliant conquered Ossetia and Ilkhanid coins were disseminated on the territory of the Golden Horde after that. Formally, Georgia remained under the control of Ilkhanids, which was replaced by Chobanids in 1338 and the governors of the Golden Horde in 757/1356; and in parallel and afterwards by Jalayirids, which is evidenced by written sources as well as numismatic data; Despite formal dependence on the foreign power, which is evidenced by the deployment of 10,000 troops at the border of Georgia as well, the country enjoyed a rather wide internal autonomy. Participation of George the Brilliant in sending envoys for the purpose of the redemption of the Jvari (Cross) Monastery in Palestine in 1316/7, 1320 cannot be assumed. It seems that in those years envoys were sent by Constantine, the king of West Georgia. All the above do not diminish the merits of George V to the Georgian nation and his historic role in terms of the political unification of the country, the creation of a legal basis for it and the regulation of ecclesiastic affairs--the accomplishments of the king, who deservedly bears the name "the Brilliant".展开更多

The previous legislation of this country was effective in practice. So we were interested in, whether actual legislation is effective in practice too as previous or it will be necessary to make some changes in the legislation. This led us to carry out the assessment of welfare by farmed animal, specifically by calves. Our assessment was based on the Bristol Welfare Assurance Programme protocol developed at the University of Bristol. Very good results were achieved by assessment, and it shows about good level of legislation in the area of protection of animals, it has conditions and requirements, which will not require big changes and the breeder can ensure without bigger problems so to ensure to animals their five freedoms originally established by the Brambell Committee in 1965: (1) Freedom from hunger and thirst; (2) Freedom from discomfort; (3) Freedom fi'om pain, injury or disease; (4) Freedom to express normal behaviour; (5) Freedom from fear and distress.展开更多

A binomial logit model was estimated using data from a consumer survey conducted in Buenos Aires City, Argentina. Willingness to pay is explained by the consumption of organic products, health risk perceptions, concerns about production processes and also regulation issues, and label reading. The WTP calculation reveals a mean value of 21.4%/kg and a median value of 19%/kg. These results indicate that organic chicken is positively valued by consumers. In fact, it provides the nutritional and product origin information that buyers require and they consider it a safer option than conventional chicken.展开更多
