A new kind of region pair grey difference classifier was proposed. The regions in pairs associated to form a feature were not necessarily directly-connected, but were selected dedicatedly to the grey transition between regions coinciding with the face pattern structure. Fifteen brighter and darker region pairs were chosen to form the region pair grey difference features with high discriminant capabilities. Instead of using both false acceptance rate and false rejection rate, the mutual information was used as a unified metric for evaluating the classifying performance. The parameters of specified positions, areas and grey difference bias for each single region pair feature were selected by an optimization processing aiming at maximizing the mutual information between the region pair feature and classifying distribution, respectively. An additional region-based feature depicting the correlation between global region grey intensity patterns was also proposed. Compared with the result of Viola-like approach using over 2 000 features, the proposed approach can achieve similar error rates with only 16 features and 1/6 implementation time on controlled illumination images. 展开更多

Thus computer evidence plays a key part in criminal cases. Traditional computer evidence searches require that the computer specialists know what is stored in the given computer. Binary-based information flow tracking which concerns the changes of control flow is an effective way to analyze the behavior of a program. The existing systems ignore the modifications of the data flow, which may be also a malicious behavior. Thus the function recognition is introduced to improve the information flow tracking. Function recognition is a helpful technique recognizing the function body from the software binary to analyze the binary code. And that no false positive and no false negative in our experiments strongly proves that our approach is effective. 展开更多

Identifying Certain Rheological Characteristics of Tubular Foils Used in Silo Foil Filling Equipment

The objective of our work was to determine the influence of UV radiation and environmental temperature on the strength and rheological characteristics of multi-layer agricultural packaging foils. A Finite-Element-Method (FEM) model was developed for analyzing the foil-silo interactions at different environmental conditions. The constitutive equation of the different foils was based on Poynting-Thomson model. The measured relaxation curve was found to have a close correlation both for -10℃ and 45 ℃ with the calculated results. The result of the FEM modeling shows that both the vertical distortion of the tubular foil peak and the highest reduced tension decrease with the increase of the temperature. Therefore, the probability of foil tears increases with the decrease of the temperature because the tension strength of the tubular foil decreases under cold conditions. 展开更多

Comparative study of de novo assembly and genome-guided assembly strategies for transcriptome reconstruction based on RNA-Seq 被引量:2

Transcriptome reconstruction is an important application of RNA-Seq,providing critical information for further analysis of transcriptome.Although RNA-Seq offers the potential to identify the whole picture of transcriptome,it still presents special challenges.To handle these difficulties and reconstruct transcriptome as completely as possible,current computational approaches mainly employ two strategies:de novo assembly and genome-guided assembly.In order to find the similarities and differences between them,we firstly chose five representative assemblers belonging to the two classes respectively,and then investigated and compared their algorithm features in theory and real performances in practice.We found that all the methods can be reduced to graph reduction problems,yet they have different conceptual and practical implementations,thus each assembly method has its specific advantages and disadvantages,performing worse than others in certain aspects while outperforming others in anther aspects at the same time.Finally we merged assemblies of the five assemblers and obtained a much better assembly.Additionally we evaluated an assembler using genome-guided de novo assembly approach,and achieved good performance.Based on these results,we suggest that to obtain a comprehensive set of recovered transcripts,it is better to use a combination of de novo assembly and genome-guided assembly. 展开更多

OBJECTIVE: To compare the effects of a series of Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM) empirical prescriptions with salbutamol and montelukast(SM) in children with asthma.METHODS: A total of 182 children with asthma were randomized into the TCM group(n = 97) or SM group(n = 85). Patients in the TCM group were treated with a series of TCM prescriptions, whereas those in the SM group received salbutamol and montelukast; both groups received their respective treatment for 12 weeks. Asthma control, changes in scores of TCM symptom patterns, and asthma symptom control(SC) scores after treatment were compared between the two groups.RESULTS: A higher percentage of patients in the TCM group had asthma control compared withthose in the SM group(91.67% and 76.83%, respectively, P = 0.006). Scores for abnormal feces(P <0.001), hyperhidrosis(P < 0.001), and tongue appearance(P = 0.001) in the TCM group were significantly better than those in the SM group. However,the total scores of TCM symptom patterns and SC scores did not differ significantly between the two groups(P > 0.05).CONCLUSION: Compared with salbutamol and montelukast, the TCM prescriptions tested were better for symptom control in children with asthma. 展开更多
