First, digital PWM...Pulse width modulation ( PWM) drive control digitalization is the key for the full digital invert power supply. New ideas are proposed, which are based on field programmable gate array ( FPGA ). First, digital PWM principles are discussed. The primary and secondary current characteristics are analyzed when the transformer is in both normal and magnetic bias conditions. Second, two digitalization methods are put forward after the research on PWM adjustment principles, which are based on the primary current feedback. Though the two methods could restrain magnetic bias, their realization is difficult. A new method is researched on double close-loops to overcome the above shortcomings, which uses the secondary current as the feedback signal and the primary current as the protection signal. Finally, the secondary current control made is discussed and realized. Welding experimental results show that the method has strong flexibility and adaptability, which can be used to realize the full digital welding power supply.展开更多

During the past two decades, the relationship between accounting systems and discharge of accountability has increasingly drawn the attention of researchers. However, researchers have shown a marginal interest in the inclusion and examination of the theme of cost accounting, and in particular, no interest has been oriented to explore the potential role of cost accounting in serving presentation of the trustful cost information as regards the discharge of accountability. In this essay, we will reason that the traditional discourse of cost accounting is fundamentally different from the managerial discourse of cost accounting. The traditional cost accounting is built upon the ethical, legal, professional, and principle-based discourses. By exploring the differences between the two cost accounting discourses, this essay will reduce the effect of current skeptical views with which quality of our academic education, relevance of our research, and our understanding of the potential role of cost accounting in serving the provision and presentation of trustful information have been seriously undermined.展开更多

It presents an analysis of the people's perspective on dismissed monarchy and challenges faced by Nepal. There was little voice on Nepali monarchy system, yet many individuals and researcher expressed the need for monarchy to build nation and keep its culture, tradition, and nation unity. To promote the democratic system, political parties should practice democratic norms and respect rules of law in real life rather than just in talk. For the express of people voice and envision prosperous Nepal, this paper attempts to contribute to the need of monarchy back in Nepal far its savereignty and unity. The paper gives a historical overview of kingship in Nepal and discusses incompetent political parties and the importance of monarchy in Nepal. It identifies that to unite the Nepal and Nepali and give the nation social cultural identity, and it needs any form of monarchy in Nepal. The past and present, despite of political systems, social movement, and practice seen from the political parties were failed several times to fulfill people's mandate, such as holding election, writing constitution. Objective:Vitamin D receptor(VDR)mediates vitamin D activity.We examined whether VDR expression in excised melanoma tissues is associated with VDR gene(VDR)polymorphisms.Methods:We evaluated VDR protein expression(by ...Objective:Vitamin D receptor(VDR)mediates vitamin D activity.We examined whether VDR expression in excised melanoma tissues is associated with VDR gene(VDR)polymorphisms.Methods:We evaluated VDR protein expression(by monoclonal antibody immunostaining),melanoma characteristics,and carriage of VDR-Fok I-rs2228570(C>T),VDR-Bsm I-rs1544410(G>A),VDR-ApaI-rs7975232(T>G),and VDR-TaqI-rs731236(T>C)polymorphisms(by restriction fragment length polymorphism).Absence or presence of restriction site was denoted by a capital or lower letter,respectively:"F"and"f"for Fok I,"B"and"b"for Bsm I,"A"and"a"for ApaI,and "T"and"t"for TaqI endonuclease.Seventy-four Italian cutaneous primary melanomas(52.1±12.7 years old)were studied;51.4% were stage Ⅰ,21.6% stage Ⅱ ,13.5% stage Ⅲ,and 13.5% stage Ⅳ melanomas.VDR expression was categorized as follows:100% positive vs.<100%;over the median 20%(high VDR expression)vs.≤20%(low VDR expression);absence vs.presence of VDR-expressing cells.Results:Stage I melanomas,Breslow thickness of<1.00 mm,level II Clark invasion,Aa heterozygous genotype,and AaTT combined genotype were more frequent in melanomas with high vs.low VDR expression.Combined genotypes BbAA,bbAa,AATt,BbAATt,and bbAaTT were more frequent in 100%vs.<100%VDR-expressing cells.Combined genotype AATT was more frequent in melanomas lacking VDR expression(odds ratio=14.5;P=0.025).VDR expression was not associated with metastasis,ulceration,mitosis>1,regression,tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes,tumoral infiltration of vascular tissues,additional skin and non-skin cancers,and melanoma familiarity.Conclusions:We highlighted that VDR polymorphisms can affect VDR expression in excised melanoma cells.Low VDR expression in AATT carriers is a new finding that merits further study.VDR expression possibly poses implications for vitamin D supplementation against melanoma.VDR expression and VDR genotype may become precise medicinal tools for melanoma in the future.展开更多

The traction behavior of space lubricating oil No. 4116 was measured and analyzed at various oil inlet temperatures below 0 ℃ and various rolling speeds under normal loads by a test rig simulating the operating condi...The traction behavior of space lubricating oil No. 4116 was measured and analyzed at various oil inlet temperatures below 0 ℃ and various rolling speeds under normal loads by a test rig simulating the operating conditions of space bearings. A traction coefficient calculation model was presented. The rheological property and rheological parameters of the lubricant at a low oil inlet temperature were analyzed based on the Tevaarwerk-Johnson model. The results showed that the lubricating oil No. 4116 was sensitive to the rolling speed and had lower sensitivity to the normal load. This lubricating oil is more suitable for applications under high speed when it is used below 0 ℃. It behaves as an elastic-plastic fluid operating below 0 ℃. Both the average limiting shear stress and the average elastic shear modulus have a negative correlation with the rolling speed and oil inlet temperature and have a positive correlation with the normal load.展开更多

Four drought-tolerant cow...Physiological responses were studied in temperature-controlled glass house at Okinawa, Japan to evaluate drought and high temperature resistances of cowpea cultivar/strains for Sahel, Africa. Four drought-tolerant cowpea cultivar/strains (cv. TVu-11986; TVu-11979; IT-96D-604 and Dan Ilia), and three sensible strains (cv. IT96K-238-3, IT96K-231-1 and TVu-7778) were grown in pots and imposed to drought (soil content; 9.7±1.9%(w/w)), high (30/26℃, day/night, 12/12 hour), normal (27/23℃, control) and low (24/20℃) temperature conditions after flowering. Plant fresh weight reduced 80%, 26% and 1% by dry, high and low temperature, respectively. Stem diameter decreased 32% and 2% by dry and low temperature, respectively, but increased 5% by high temperature. Difference between the drought tolerant and sensible cultivars/strains, pre-evaluated by IITA, was explained by relationship between stem diameter and plant fresh weight with 77% of reliability. The 35% of misclassification were due to misjudgment of drought tolerant as sensible in dry plot. The stem diameter highly correlated with all parts of plant weight in all regimes except in dry treatment. Difference of the classification between IITA and our results may cause different survival strategy against drought. The cultivars/strains, evaluated as drought tolerant by IITA, might fatten up at early stage, and could avoid from drought at latter growing stage.展开更多

Thirty minutes later, a tsunami reached Tokyo Electric Power Corporation (TEPCO)'s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station, and the emergen...A large magnitude-9.0 earthquake struck northeast Japan on March 11, 2011. Thirty minutes later, a tsunami reached Tokyo Electric Power Corporation (TEPCO)'s Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power station, and the emergency diesel generators submerged under water. Three units of the reactor experienced meltdown, and hydrogen explosions occurred at reactor houses. The RIKEN Nishina Center (RNC) contributed to the radiation screening effort by providing human resources, instruments, and transportation. The RNC also carried out extraction work and sample tests for soil contamination. Last summer, RIKEN was legally required to save 15% (equivalent to 3.3 MW) of its allocated electricity in its contract, making it extremely difficult to conduct experiments using accelerators. Accelerator operation was thus reduced to a minimum during the first half of the year. The RNC has a gas-turbine-based co-generation system (CGS) with an electrical capacity of 6.5 MW. The CGS was operated non-stop until the end of the year. RIKEN is constructing two sets of CGSs, each with a capacity of 1.5 MW to be commissioned this autumn.展开更多
This paper presents a new idea to reduce the solidity of low-pressure turbine(LPT) blade cascades,while remain the structural integrity of LPT blade.Aerodynamic performance of a low solidity LPT cascade was improved b...This paper presents a new idea to reduce the solidity of low-pressure turbine(LPT) blade cascades,while remain the structural integrity of LPT blade.Aerodynamic performance of a low solidity LPT cascade was improved by increasing blade trailing edge thickness(TET).The solidity of the LPT cascade blade can be reduced by about12.5% through increasing the TET of the blade without a significant drop in energy efficiency.For the low solidity LPT cascade,increasing the TET can decrease energy loss by 23.30% and increase the flow turning angle by1.86% for Reynolds number(Re) of 25,000 and freestream turbulence intensities(FSTT) of 2.35%.The flow control mechanism governing behavior around the trailing edge of an LPT cascade is also presented.The results show that appropriate TET is important for the optimal design of high-lift load LPT blade cascades.展开更多
