Air pollution in modern city and industrial zones has become a serious public concern in recent years in China. Significance of air quality assessment and emission control strategy design is increasing. Most studies in China focus on particulate matter(PM), especially PM2.5, while few account for photochemical secondary air pollutions represented by ozone(O3). In this paper, a procedure for air quality simulation with comprehensive air quality model with extensions(CAMx) is demonstrated for studying the photochemical process and ozone generation in the troposphere. As a case study, the CAMx photochemical grid model is used to model ozone over southern part of Beijing city in winter, 2011. The input parameters to CAMx include emission sources, meteorology field data, terrain definition, photolysis status, initial and boundary conditions. The simulation results are verified by theoretical analysis of the ozone generation tendency. The simulated variation tendency of domain-wide average value of hourly ozone concentration coincides reasonably well with the theoretical analysis on the atmospheric photochemical process, demonstrating the effectiveness of the procedure. An integrated model system that cooperates with CAMx will be established in our future work. 展开更多

Two simple and effective control strategies for a multi-axle heavy truck, modified skyhook damping (MSD) control and proportional-integration-derivative (PID) control, were implemented into functional virtual prototype (FVP) model and compared in terms of road friendliness and ride comfort. A four-axle heavy truck-road coupling system model was established using FVP technology and validated through a ride comfort test. Then appropriate passive air suspensions were chosen to replace the rear tandem suspensions of the original truck model for preliminary optimization. The mechanical properties and time lag of dampers were taken into account in simulations of MSD and PID semi-active dampers implemented using MATLAB/Simulink. Through co-simulations with Adams and MATLAB, the effects of semi-active MSD and PID control were analyzed and compared, and control parameters which afforded the best comprehensive performance for each control strategy were chosen. Simulation results indicate that compared with the passive air suspension truck, semi-active MSD control improves both ride comfort and road-friendliness markedly, with optimization ratios of RMS vertical acceleration and RMS tyre force ranging from 10.1% to 44.8%. However, semi-active PID control only reduces vertical vibration of the driver's seat by 11.1%, 11.1% and 10.9% on A, B and C level roads respectively. The control schemes are both effective in DC-DC converters and DC-AC converters. Controller models are set up, and the over-current limit operation principles of analogy and digital control are analyzed too. An 800VA aeronautical power supply bas been constructed to verify the performance of the proposed control strategy in various cases such as the sudden load change and the constant load. The analysis and experiments confirm the advantages of the proposed over-current limit strategies as follows: simple,effective and reliable. 展开更多

For the assessment and management of regional to local air quality, an integrated environmental management information system was built within the multi national Eureka project 3266 Webair, http://www.ess.co.at/WEBAIR. The system combines data bases and GIS and a range of coupled models and analytical tools that address a range of typical management problems and cover several levels of nesting from regional to city level and street canyons. The main functions are to support regulatory tasks, compliance monitoring, operational forecasting and reporting, impact assessment EIA (environmental impact assessment), SEA (strategic environmental assessment) and public information within one consistent framework. A major objective is the improvement of air quality through emission control. The integrated model system together with its shared data bases provides a reliable, consistent basis for the non-linear techno-economic and multi-criteria optimization of emission control strategies (including greenhouse gases and energy efficiency). A real-time expert system drives, supports and monitors the autonomous and interactive operations, and provides embedded QA/QC (quality assurance/quality control) functions for reliable operations and ease of use. 展开更多

Due to the coexistence and coupling of continuous variables and discrete events, the vehicle height adjustment process of electronic air suspension system can be regarded as a typical hybrid system. Therefore, the hybrid system theory was applied to design a novel vehicle height control strategy in this paper. A nonlinear mechanism model of the vehicle height adjustment system was established based on vehicle system dynamics and thermodynamic theory for variable-mass gas charge/discharge system. In order to model both the continuous/discrete dynamics of vehicle height adjustment process and the on-off statuses switching of solenoid valves, the framework of mixed logical dynamical(MLD) modelling was used. On the basis of the vehicle height adjustment control strategy, the MLD model of the adjustment process was built by introducing auxiliary logical variables and auxiliary continuous variables. Then, the co-simulation of the nonlinear mechanism model and the MLD model was conducted based on the compiling of HYSDEL. The simulation and experimental results show that the proposed control strategy can not only adjust the vehicle height effectively, but also achieve the on-off statuses direct control of solenoid valves. 展开更多

Three-dimensional(3D)nonlinear diving guidance strategy considering the coupling between longitudinal and lateral motions for hypersonic vehicle is investigated in this paper.It constructs the complete nonlinear coupling motion equation without any approximations based on diving relative motion relationship directly,and converts it into linear state space equation with the same relative degree by feedback linearization.With the linear equation,slide mode control with strong robustness is employed to design the guidance law,and 3D diving guidance law which can satisfy terminal impact point and falling angle constraints with high precision is obtained by substituting the previous control law into the origin nonlinear guidance system.Besides,regarding lateral overload as the standard,hybrid control strategy which can take full advantage of the excellent characters of both bank-to-turn(BTT)and skid-to-turn(STT)controls is designed to improve the guidance accuracy further.Finally,the results of CAV-H vehicle guidance test show that the algorithm can realize high accuracy guidance even if serious motion coupling exists,and has strong robustness to the path disturbances and navigation errors as well. 展开更多
