The antenna occupies about 16.62 GHz absolute bandwidth and 142.7% relative bandwidth covering from 3.38 GHz to 20 GHz with voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) below two. A quasi-omnidirectional and quasi-symmetrical radiation pattern in H plane is obtained in the whole bandwidth. The high performance of the antenna is validated with measured and simulated results given. The antenna can be applied for the system design of UWB wireless communication.展开更多

Research on recycling waste Printed Circuit Boards(PCB) is at the forefront of preventing environmental pollution and finding ways to recycle resources.The Tapered Column Separation Bed(TCSB) is invented aiming at dis...Research on recycling waste Printed Circuit Boards(PCB) is at the forefront of preventing environmental pollution and finding ways to recycle resources.The Tapered Column Separation Bed(TCSB) is invented aiming at disposing the problem that fine particles of waste printed circuit boards cannot be separated efficiently so as to obtain further insight about the underlying mechanisms and demonstrate the separation feasibility in the tapered column separation bed.In this work,a Computational Fluid Dynamics(CFD) coupled with Discrete Element Method(DEM) model for two-phase flow has been extended to simulate the fluid-solid flow in the tapered column separation bed.Its validity is demonstrated by its successful capturing the key features of particles' flow pattern,velocity,the pressure distribution,the axial position with time and axial force for particles with different densities.Simulation results show that the plastic particles and resin particles become overflow,while copper particles,iron particles and aluminum particles successively become underflow,with a discharge water flow rate of 1 m^3/h,an obliquity of 30°.The simulated results agree reasonably well with the experimental observation.Using this equipment to separate waste PCBs is feasible,theoretically.展开更多
Debris flows are one of the common natural hazards in mountainous areas.They often cause devastating damage to the lives and property of local people.The sabo dam construction along a debris flow valley is considered ...Debris flows are one of the common natural hazards in mountainous areas.They often cause devastating damage to the lives and property of local people.The sabo dam construction along a debris flow valley is considered to be a useful method for hazard mitigation.Previous work has concentrated on the different types of sabo dams such as close-type sabo dam,open-type sabo dam.However,little attention has been paid to the spillway structure of sabo dam.In the paper,a new type of spillway structure with lateral contraction was proposed.Debris flow patterns under four different spillway structures were investigated.The projection theory was employed to predict trajectory of debris flow out from the spillway and to estimate the incident angle and terminal velocity before it plunged into the scour hole behind the sabo dam.The results indicated that the estimated data were in good agreement with the experimental ones.The discrepancy between the estimated and experimental values of main parameters remained below 21.82%(relative error).Additionally,the effects of debris flow scales under different spillway structures were considered to study the scour law.Although the debris flow pattern and scour law behind the sabo dam under different operating conditions was analyzed in this paper,further study on the scour mechanism andthe maximum scour depth estimation based on scour theory is still required in the future.展开更多

Usually, the sea-crossing bridges operate under the harsh natural environment in which service wind, wave and vehicle loads are stronger and extreme loads such as earthquake, hurricane, and ship collision, are more frequent. As a result of the foundation scour,the dynamic behavior of bridge under different combined action of service and extreme loads may be further escalated.In particular, this work has investigated the scour effect on a sea-crossing bridge under service wind, wave and vehicle loads as well as extreme seismic loads. The dynamic coupled earthquake-wind-wave-vehicle-bridge(EWWVB) system is established by considering the interactions within the system, and the p-y curve method is used to calculate the loaddisplacement relation of the pile and soil under various levels of foundation scour. After that, a case study has been performed on a cable-stayed bridge with foundation scour. The results indicate that the dynamic characteristics of bridge structure will change after considering bridge scour, and the dynamic responses of bridge and vehicle will be affected to different degrees under service and seismic loads considering bridge scour.展开更多

The proposed washout algorithm combines fuzzy logic control with the vestibular system to design the tilt coordination fuzzy adaptive filter, in order to minimize the vestibular sensory error below the human perception threshold. Owing to tilt coordination angular velocity limiter, the loss of low-pass acceleration must be compensated by the acceleration transform model. The translational channel decreases the possibility of the workspace beyond limitation and expands the scope of motion platform simulating input acceleration by using third-order filter. The simulation results show that the proposed algorithm can effectively overcome the phase retardation of classical washout algorithm, and then prevent the produce of false cues, decrease the displacement of motion platform simultaneously; in addition, white Gaussian noise simulates large variations in acceleration. The proposed washout algorithm can have maximal extreme value of acceleration and accurate simulating performance in general. It also proves that the proposed washout algorithm has a strong adaptability and reliability, which can effectively improve the dynamic fidelity for motion simulator.展开更多

In this motor, a unidirectional current flows in the electromagnets. In other words, unidirectional windings are used. In this motor, only strong repulsive force is utilized when a permanent magnet of a rotor and an electromagnet of a stator are adjacent. Hence, torque constant becomes higher and the efficiency of the motor is high. However, an effective value of the electromagnetic current increases because a large current flows in a short period. Therefore, copper loss increases and the efficiency of the motor decreases. In order to solve above defects, a new motor is proposed. From the experiment, it is clarified that the efficiency of the proposed motor is higher than that of the commercial motors.展开更多

Recently, due to the need of higher operation speeds and lighter machines in PCB (Printed Circuit Board) assembly, a challenging problem has arisen which is the table positioning vibration. The high speed with the machine flexibility, make the positioning vibration inevitable although the inner control. The positioning vibration is to be reduced otherwise the machine becomes useless. Firstly, the machine is modeled, the positioning vibration is formulated, and then analyzed. Secondly, using the analysis, three direct control methods are identified to decrease the positioning vibration, they are based on the kinematics, dynamics, and operation of the machine. Thirdly, the methods are examined numerically to evaluate their efficiency. Lastly, the identified methods are discussed to conclude on their application. The results are a real contribution in the vibration control of XY table automated assembly machines, which is classified as industrial knowhow.展开更多
Vacuum pyrolysis was employed to dispose scrap brominated epoxy printed circuit boards (PCBs).Pyrolysis characteristics of waste PCBs under normal pressure and vacuum were investigated in this paper.A detailed study o...Vacuum pyrolysis was employed to dispose scrap brominated epoxy printed circuit boards (PCBs).Pyrolysis characteristics of waste PCBs under normal pressure and vacuum were investigated in this paper.A detailed study on the analysis of the elemental composition of PCBs and the pyrolysis products was performed.The thermal decomposition kinetics was measured by a thermogravimetric (TG) analyzer.The activation energy of pyrolysis under nitrogen atmosphere and vacuum were 193 kJ/mol to 206 kJ/mol and 145 kJ/mol to 165 kJ/mol,respectively.The composition of materials was analyzed by elemental analyzer.The pyrolysis products were analyzed by GC (gas chromatograph),GC-MS (chromatography and mass spectrometry) and FT-IR (Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy).Vacuum helped to increase the yield of pyrolysis oil.The liquid yield of PCBs pyrolysis at 15 kPa and normal pressure were 31.3% and 23.5%,respectively.The main components in pyrolysis oils were phenol,isopropyl-phenol,and their brominated substitution.展开更多

A mathematical model of the brushless DC propulsion motor is established according to the state-space method for the dynamic and steady-state performance analysis. The state-space mathematical model is a set of linear differential equations, so the steady-state currents of the armature windings can be gained directly by the symmetrical boundary conditions and the eigenvalues of the system matrix. In particular, the algorithm is proposed for BLDC (brushless DC) machines that are characterized by an un-ideal trapezoidal emfs shape. The algorithm, which is developed basing upon the MRAS technique (model reference adaptive system) and the Popov's hyperstability criterion, guarantees the convergence of the estimated rotor speed and position signals to their corresponding actual values. The identification procedure can be performed starting from the knowledge of low resolution rotor position signals, phase currents and the BLDC emfs shape. The identification algorithm is properly tested on a BLDC drive controlled by a predictive algorithm, by performing a simulation study in the Matlab-Simulink environment. The corresponding results have highlighted the effectiveness of the proposed sensorless predictive control system, at both low and high speed operation.展开更多

The steady-state simulation results are compared with the dynamic ones to validate the correctness of this eigenvector method.

文摘With the idea of mechatronic integration,a novel finger of the dextrous robot hand has been designed. The finger with nice envelop has four joints with three DOFs driven by three brushless DC motors with smaller size and more torque. The use of rigid gear head,bevel gears and linkage in the transmission system makes the finger more rigid. Abundant sensors such as joint angle sensors,joint torque sensors and temperature sensors are located in the finger. Integration and modularization are achieved at most by high integration of finger body,driving system,sensors and electronics.
文摘A high resolution speed and position identification algorithm, suitable for brushless DC drives, is presented in this paper. In particular, the algorithm is proposed for BLDC (brushless DC) machines that are characterized by an un-ideal trapezoidal emfs shape. The algorithm, which is developed basing upon the MRAS technique (model reference adaptive system) and the Popov's hyperstability criterion, guarantees the convergence of the estimated rotor speed and position signals to their corresponding actual values. The identification procedure can be performed starting from the knowledge of low resolution rotor position signals, phase currents and the BLDC emfs shape. The identification algorithm is properly tested on a BLDC drive controlled by a predictive algorithm, by performing a simulation study in the Matlab-Simulink environment. The corresponding results have highlighted the effectiveness of the proposed sensorless predictive control system, at both low and high speed operation.
