METHODS: The gel stretch device was made from silica gel and organic glass, etc. Ang Ⅱ was measured by radioimmunoassay. The protein synthesis was tested by MTT. These two parameters were used to assess the effect of this device. RESULTS: Under 20% stretch force for 12h or 24h, the protein synthesis was obviously increased and the auto secretion of Ang II also rose. But the number of cardiomyocytes or the release of LDH had no obvious difference between the stretch and non stretch group. CONCLUSION: Our primary application of this gel stretch device shows that in vitro it can successfully exert mechanical stimulation on cardiomyocytes and induce the hypertrophic response of cardiomyocytes.展开更多
