The genus Bugulaverpa Gaimari ＆ Irwin is recorded from China for the first time. A new species, Bugulaverpa hainanensis sp. nov., a female from Hainan Province in South China, is described here.
The following two species of Hoplosathe （Diptera： Therevidae： Therevinae） from China are described as new： Hoplosathe shengi sp. nov. and Hoplosathe turpanensis sp. nov..
